< 2 Chronicles 31 >
1 When all this had finished, the Israelites who were there went to the towns of Judah and smashed the pagan pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and destroyed the high places and altars throughout Judah and Benjamin, as well as in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had completely demolished all of them. After that they all went home to their respective towns.
2 Then Hezekiah reallocated the divisions of the priests and Levites, each according to their service: presenting burnt offerings and friendship offerings, serving, giving thanks, and singing praises at the entrances of the Lord's Temple.
Apre sa, Ezekyas separe prèt yo ak moun Levi yo an gwoup ankò. Li bay chak gwoup lè pou yo pran sèvis yonn apre lòt. Nan chak gwoup, chak moun te gen travay pa yo pou fè lè y'ap boule bèt nèt pou Seyè a, lè y'ap fè ofrann pou mande Bondye padon, lè y'ap di Bondye mèsi, lè y'ap fè lwanj li, lè y'ap sèvi l' nan papòt Tanp Seyè a.
3 The king contributed personally towards the morning and evening burnt offerings, and for the burnt offerings on the Sabbaths, new moons, and special feasts, as required by the Law of the Lord.
Apre sa, li pran nan bèt ki pou li yo li bay pou yo boule nèt pou Seyè a chak maten, chak aswè, pou ofrann jou repo yo, pou fèt lalin nouvèl ak pou lòt gwo jou fèt yo, jan sa ekri nan Lalwa Seyè a.
4 He also ordered the people living in Jerusalem to provide for the priests and Levites so that they could dedicate themselves to studying and teaching the Law of the Lord.
Lèfini, li mande moun ki rete lavil Jerizalèm yo pou yo fè ofrann pou prèt ak moun Levi yo, pou mesye sa yo ka bay tout tan yo nan fè travay yo, jan Lalwa Seyè a mande l' la.
5 As soon as the message went out, the Israelites generously gave the firstfruits of the grain, new wine, olive oil, and honey, and of all the crops. They brought plenty, a tithe of everything.
Lè nouvèl la gaye, moun pèp Izrayèl yo pote premye sa yo rekolte nan ble, nan diven, nan lwil oliv, nan siwo myèl ak nan tout lòt danre jaden yo an kantite.
6 The people of Israel now living in Judah, and the people of Judah brought a tithe of their herds and flocks. They also brought a tithe of what had been dedicated to the Lord their God, and piled them up.
Tout moun peyi Izrayèl ak moun peyi Jida ki t'ap viv nan lòt lavil peyi Jida yo te bay yon bèt pou chak dis bèf osinon kabrit ak mouton yo te genyen. Yo pote yon dizyèm nan tout bagay yo te mete apa pou Bondye, sèl Mèt yo a. Yo pote yo fè pil sou pil.
7 They started doing this in the third month, and they finished in the seventh month.
Yo konmanse pote kado yo depi nan twazyèm mwa a rive sou setyèm mwa a.
8 When Hezekiah and his officials came and saw what had been collected, they thanked the Lord and his people Israel.
Lè wa Ezekyas ak chèf li yo wè kantite bagay moun yo te bay, yo di Bondye mèsi, yo fè lwanj pou pèp Izrayèl la, pèp Bondye a.
9 Hezekiah asked the priests and Levites about what had been collected.
Lè sa a, Ezekyas pale ak prèt yo ansanm ak moun Levi yo sou koze ofrann yo.
10 Azariah, the chief priest of the family of Zadok, answered, “Ever since the people began to bring their contributions into the Lord's Temple, we have had enough to eat and plenty to spare. Because the Lord has blessed his people there is so much left over.”
Azarya, granprèt la, moun fanmi Zadòk yo, di l' konsa: -Depi lè pèp la konmanse ap pote ofrann nan Tanp lan, gen kont manje pou moun manje. Lèfini, rete yon bon kantite, paske Seyè a beni pèp li a. Sa ki rete la a, se sa ki te anplis la.
11 Hezekiah ordered the construction of storehouses in the Lord's Temple. Once they were ready,
Ezekyas bay lòd pou yo pare kèk pyès nan Tanp lan pou sèvi depo. Lè depo yo fin pare,
12 the people faithfully brought in their offerings, tithes, and dedicated gifts. Conaniah the Levite was the one who was responsible for them, and his brother Shimei was second in command.
13 They were in charge of the following officers: Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers who assisted Conaniah and Shimei his brother. They were appointed by King Hezekiah and Azariah, the chief officer of God's Temple.
Yo chwazi dis moun pou travay sou lòd Konanya ak Chimèyi, frè li a, dapre lòd wa a ak Azarya, prèt reskonsab Tanp lan, te bay. Se te Jeiyèl, Azaryawou, Nakat, Asayèl, Jerimòt, Jozaba, Eliyèl, Jismakya, Makat ak Benaja.
14 Kore, son of Imnah, the Levite, the gatekeeper of the East Gate, was responsible for receiving the freewill offerings given to God. He also distributed the offerings given to the Lord, together with the consecrated gifts.
15 Under him were his assistants Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah. They faithfully made the allocations to their fellow Levites in their towns, according to the priestly divisions, sharing equally with the old and young.
Nan lòt lavil kote prèt yo rete a, men moun ki te toujou la pou ede Kore: Se te Edèn, Menjamin, Jechwa, Chemaja, Amarya ak Chekanya. Se yo menm ki pou te separe manje a bay moun Levi parèy yo, gran kou piti, dapre travay yo gen pou fè.
16 They also gave allowances to the males listed in the genealogy who were three years of age or older, to all who would enter the Lord's Temple to perform their daily duties of serving according to the responsibilities of their divisions.
17 They also gave allowances to the priests listed by family in the genealogy, and to the Levites twenty years of age or older, according to the responsibilities of their divisions.
Prèt yo te enskri dapre fanmi yo. Men moun Levi yo, depi sa ki gen ventan pou pi piti, te enskri dapre travay pou yo fè ak jou pou yo travay.
18 The genealogy included all the babies, wives, sons, and daughters of the whole community, for they were faithful in making sure they dedicated themselves as holy.
Yo tout te enskri ansanm ak pitit gason yo, pitit fi yo, madanm yo ak tout moun ki sou kont yo, pou yo te ka bay tout tan yo pou travay nan Tanp Bondye a.
19 In the case of the priests, the descendants of Aaron, those who lived on the farmlands around their towns, men were appointed by name in all the towns to distribute an allocation to every male among the priests and to every Levite as listed in the genealogies.
Yo te chwazi moun tou pou mete reskonsab separe manje bay tout prèt yo, moun fanmi Arawon yo, ak moun Levi ki te enskri nan rejis yo epi ki t'ap viv andeyò nan vwazinaj lavil prèt yo.
20 This is what Hezekiah did throughout the whole of Judah. He did what was good, right, and true before the Lord his God.
21 In everything he did in working for God's Temple and in following God's laws and commandments, Hezekiah was sincere in his commitment to God. So he was successful in all he did.
