2 Chronicles 10
1 Rehoboam went to Shechem, because all the Israelites had gone to Shechem to make him king.
১পাছত ৰহবিয়াম চিখিমলৈ গ’ল; কিয়নো তেওঁক ৰজা পাতিবলৈ গোটেই ইস্ৰায়েল চিখিমলৈ গৈছিল।
2 Jeroboam, son of Nebat, was still in Egypt when he heard about this. (He had run away to Egypt to escape from King Solomon and was living there.)
২এনেতে নবাটৰ পুত্ৰ যাৰবিয়ামে সেই বাৰ্ত্তা পালে, কিয়নো তেওঁ মিচৰত আছিল, চলোমন ৰজাৰ ভয়ত তেওঁ মিচৰলৈ পলাই গৈছিল; তাৰ পাছত তেওঁ মিচৰৰ পৰা উলটি আহিল৷
3 The Israelite leaders sent for him. Jereboam and all the Israelites went to talk with Rehoboam.
৩কিয়নো লোকসকলে মানুহ পঠিয়াই তেওঁক মতাই আনিছিল; তাৰ পাছত যাৰবিয়াম আৰু গোটেই ইস্ৰায়েলে আহি ৰহবিয়ামক এই কথা ক’লে,
4 “Your father placed a heavy burden on us,” they told him. “But now if you lighten the load your father imposed and the heavy demands he laid on us, we will serve you.”
৪“আপোনাৰ পিতৃয়ে আমাৰ ওপৰত সহিব নোৱাৰা যুৱলি দি গ’ল৷ এই হেতুকে আপোনাৰ পিতৃয়ে আমাক যি সহিব নোৱাৰা দাস্যকৰ্মত লগাই দি গধুৰ যুৱলি দি গ’ল, আপুনি তাৰ কিছু লঘূ কৰক, তেতিয়া আমি আপোনাৰ দাস হৈ থাকিম।”
5 Rehoboam answered, “Come back in three days time.” So the people left.
৫তেতিয়া ৰহবিয়ামে তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “তিনি দিনৰ পাছত তোমালোকে আকৌ মোৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিবা।” তেতিয়া লোকসকল গুচি গ’ল।
6 King Rehoboam asked for advice from the elders who had served his father Solomon when he was alive. “How do you advise me to reply to these people about this?” he asked.
৬পাছত ৰজা ৰহবিয়ামে তেওঁৰ পিতৃ চলোমন জীৱিত থকা কালত যি বৃদ্ধসকল তেওঁৰ আগত থিয় দি আছিল তেওঁলোকৰ লগত মন্ত্ৰণা কৰি সুধিলে, “মই সেই লোকসকলক উত্তৰ দিবলৈ তোমালোকে কি পৰামৰ্শ দিয়া?”
7 They replied, “If you treat these people well, and please them by speaking kindly to them, they will always serve you.”
৭তেওঁলোকে তেওঁক ক’লে, “আপুনি যদি সেই লোকসকললৈ মৰমীয়াল হৈ তেওঁলোকক সন্তুষ্ট কৰে আৰু তেওঁলোকক ভাল কথা কয়, তেন্তে তেওঁলোক চিৰকাললৈকে আপোনাৰ দাস হৈ থাকিব।”
8 But Rehoboam dismissed the advice of the elders. He instead asked advice from the young men who he had grown up with, and who were close to him.
৮কিন্তু ৰহবিয়ামক বৃদ্ধসকলে দিয়া পৰামৰ্শ অৱজ্ঞা কৰি, যিসকল তেওঁৰে লগত একে সমানে ডাঙৰ-দীঘল হোৱা ডেকাসকল তেওঁৰ আগত থিয় দি আছিল, তেওঁলোকৰ সৈতে মন্ত্ৰণা কৰিলে।
9 He asked them, “What response do you advise that we send back to these people who have told me, ‘Lighten the burden your father put on us’?”
৯তেওঁ তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “মোৰ আগত কোৱা সেই লোকসকলক আমি উত্তৰ দিবৰ বাবে তোমালোকে কি পৰামৰ্শ দিবা, সেই লোকসকলে মোক এইদৰে ক’লে, বোলে, ‘আপোনাৰ পিতৃয়ে আমাৰ ওপৰত যি যুৱলি দি গ’ল, তাৰ কিছু লঘূ কৰক’?”
10 The young men who he had grown up with told him, “This is what you have to tell these people who said to you, ‘Your father made our burden heavy, but you should make it lighter.’ This is what you should answer them: ‘My little finger is thicker than my father's waist!
১০তেওঁৰ একে সমানে ডাঙৰ-দীঘল হোৱা সেই ডেকাসকলে তেওঁক ক’লে, “আপোনাৰ পিতৃয়ে আমাৰ ওপৰত গধুৰ যুৱলি দি গ’ল কিন্তু আপুনি তাৰ কিছু লঘূ কৰক বুলি আপোনাৰ আগত কোৱা লোকসকলক সেই কথা কওঁক, ‘মোৰ কেঁঞা আঙুলিটো মোৰ পিতৃৰ ককালতকৈয়ো ডাঙৰ।
11 My father placed a heavy burden on you, and I will make it even heavier. My father punished you with whips; I will punish you with scorpions.’”
১১এই হেতুকে শুনা, মোৰ পিতৃয়ে তোমালোকৰ ওপৰত গধূৰ যুৱলি দি গ’ল, কিন্তু মই তাক পুনৰ গধূৰ কৰিম৷ মোৰ পিতৃয়ে তোমালোকক চাবুকেৰে শাস্তি দিছিল, কিন্তু মই হ’লে তোমালোকক কেঁকোৰাবিছাৰে শাস্তি দিম’, এইদৰেই আপুনি তেওঁলোকক কওক৷”
12 Three days later, Jeroboam and all the people returned to Rehoboam, because the king had told them, “Come back in three days time.”
১২পাছত “তৃতীয়দিনা মোৰ ওচৰলৈ আকৌ আহিবা”, ৰজাই কোৱা এই কথাৰ দৰেই যাৰবিয়াম আদি সকলো লোক তৃতীয় দিনা ৰহবিয়ামৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিল।
13 The king answered them sharply. Dismissing the advice of the elders,
১৩তাতে ৰজাই তেওঁলোকক টান টান কথাৰে উত্তৰ দিলে; ৰহবিয়াম ৰজাই বৃদ্ধসকলৰ পৰামৰ্শ অৱজ্ঞা কৰিলে৷
14 he replied using the advice of the young men. He said, “My father placed a heavy burden on you, and I will make it even heavier. My father punished you with whips; I will punish you with scorpions.”
১৪সেই ডেকাসকলৰ পৰামৰ্শ অনুসাৰে তেওঁলোকক তেওঁ এই কথা কলে, “মোৰ পিতৃয়ে তোমালোকক দিয়া যুৱলি তাতোকৈ অধিক গধুৰ কৰিম; ইয়াত মই পুনৰ যোগ দিম৷ মোৰ পিতৃয়ে তোমালোকক চাবুকেৰে শাস্তি দিছিল, কিন্তু মই হ’লে তোমালোকক কেঁকোৰাবিছাৰে শাস্তি দিম।”
15 The king did not listen to what the people said, for this change in circumstances was from God, to fulfill what Lord had told Jeroboam son of Nebat through Ahijah the Shilonite.
১৫এইদৰে ৰজাই লোকসকলৰ কথা নুশুনিলে; কিয়নো চীলোনীয়া অহীয়াৰ দ্বাৰাই দিয়া নবাটৰ পুত্ৰ যাৰবিয়ামক যিহোৱাই কোৱা নিজ বাক্য সিদ্ধ কৰিবৰ অৰ্থে ঈশ্বৰৰ পৰাহে এই ঘটনা ঘটিল।
16 When all the Israelites saw that the king wasn't listening to them, they told the king: “What share do we have in David, and what part do we have in the son of Jesse? Go home, Israel! You're on your own, house of David!” So all the Israelites went home.
১৬যেতিয়া ইস্ৰায়েলৰ লোকসকলে দেখিলে যে, ৰজাই তেওঁলোকৰ কথা শুনা নাই তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে ৰজাক উত্তৰ দিলে আৰু ক’লে, “দায়ূদৰ ওচৰত আমাৰ কি অংশ আছে? যিচয়ৰ পুত্ৰৰ ওচৰত আমাৰ কোনো অধিকাৰ নাই! হে ইস্ৰায়েল, তোমালোকে নিজ নিজ তম্বুলৈ যোৱা৷ হে দায়ুদ, তুমি এতিয়া নিজ বংশলৈ চোৱা।” এইদৰে সমুদায় ইস্ৰায়েল নিজ নিজ তম্বুলৈ পুনৰ উভতি গ’ল।
17 However, Rehoboam still ruled over the Israelites who lived in Judah.
১৭কিন্তু যিহূদাৰ নগৰবোৰত বাস কৰা ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সন্তান সকলৰ ওপৰত হ’লে ৰহবিয়ামে ৰাজত্ব কৰি থাকিল।
18 Then King Rehoboam sent out Hadoram, who was in charge of forced labor, but the Israelites stoned him to death. King Rehoboam quickly jumped into his chariot and raced back to Jerusalem.
১৮পাছত ৰজা ৰহবিয়ামে বন্দী-কাম কৰাসকলৰ অধ্যক্ষ হদোৰামক পঠিয়াওতে, ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সন্তান সকলে তেওঁলৈ এনেদৰে শিল দলিয়ালে যে, যাৰ ফলত তেওঁ তাতে মৰিল৷ ৰজা ৰহবিয়ামে নিজৰ ৰথত উঠি বেগাবেগীকৈ যিৰূচালেমলৈ পলাই গ’ল।
19 As a result, Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.
১৯এইদৰে ইস্ৰায়েলে দায়ূদৰ বংশৰ বিৰুদ্ধে আজিলৈকে সেই ভাবেৰেই বিদ্ৰোহ আচৰণ কৰি আছে।
