< 1 Thessalonians 1 >

1 This letter comes from Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians who belong to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May you have grace and peace!
Paulu, Sila àti Timotiu, A kọ ọ́ sí ìjọ tí ó wà ní ìlú Tẹsalonika, àwọn ẹni tí ó jẹ́ ti Ọlọ́run Baba àti ti Olúwa Jesu Kristi: Kí ìbùkún àti àlàáfíà láti ọ̀dọ̀ Ọlọ́run Baba àti Jesu Kristi kí ó jẹ́ tiyín.
2 We are always thanking God for all of you, never forgetting you in our prayers.
Gbogbo ìgbà ni a máa ń fi ọpẹ́ fún Ọlọ́run nítorí yín, a sì ń gbàdúrà fún un yín nígbà gbogbo pẹ̀lú.
3 We remember you before our God and Father—how you put your trust in him into practice, how you work hard in love, and how you patiently wait in the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A ń rántí yin ni àìsimi nígbà gbogbo níwájú Ọlọ́run àti Baba nípa iṣẹ́ ìgbàgbọ́ yín, iṣẹ́ ìfẹ́ yín àti ìdúró ṣinṣin ìrètí yín nínú Jesu Kristi Olúwa wa.
4 Brothers and sisters, we already know that you are loved by God and are very special to him.
Àwa mọ̀ dájúdájú, ẹ̀yin olùfẹ́ wa, wí pé Ọlọ́run ti yàn yín fẹ́ fún ara rẹ̀.
5 The good news we brought to you wasn't just words, but had power too, for the Holy Spirit completely convinced you. In the same way you know what kind of men we are since we demonstrated to you that we were working for your benefit.
Nítorí pé, nígbà tí a mú ìyìnrere tọ̀ yín wà, kò rí bí ọ̀rọ̀ lásán tí kò ní ìtumọ̀ sí i yín, bí kò ṣe pẹ̀lú agbára, pẹ̀lú Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́, pẹ̀lú ìdánilójú tó jinlẹ̀. Bí ẹ̀yin ti mọ irú ènìyàn tí àwa jẹ́ láàrín yín nítorí yín.
6 You were imitating us and the Lord when you received the message, for despite your troubles you experienced the joy the Holy Spirit gives.
Tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí ẹ̀yin pàápàá di aláwòkọ́ṣe wa àti ti Olúwa, ìdí ni pé, ẹ gba ẹ̀rí náà láti ọwọ́ Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ pẹ̀lú ayọ̀ bí o tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé, ó mú wàhálà àti ìbànújẹ́ wá fún yín.
7 So you have become an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Greece!
Tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí ẹ̀yin pàápàá fi di àpẹẹrẹ fún gbogbo àwọn onígbàgbọ́ tó wà ní agbègbè Makedonia àti Akaia.
8 You have broadcast the Lord's message, not only in Macedonia and Greece, but everywhere people have heard of your trust in God—so there's no need for us to tell anybody about it!
Ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa ti gbilẹ̀ níbi gbogbo láti ọ̀dọ̀ yín láti agbègbè Makedonia àti Akaia lọ, ìgbàgbọ́ yín nínú Ọlọ́run tàn káàkiri. Nítorí náà, a kò ni láti ṣẹ̀ṣẹ̀ ń sọ fún wọn nípa rẹ̀.
9 In fact they talk about what a marvelous welcome you gave us, how you abandoned idols and turned to God, how you serve the true and living God,
Ṣe ni wọ́n bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí i ròyìn fún wa bí ẹ ti gbà wá lálejò. Wọ́n ròyìn fún wa pẹ̀lú pé, ẹ ti yípadà kúrò nínú ìbọ̀rìṣà àti wí pé Ọlọ́run alààyè àti òtítọ́ nìkan ṣoṣo ni ẹ ń sìn,
10 as you look forward to the coming of his Son from heaven—Jesus, the one God raised from the dead, who will save us from the judgment to come.
àti láti fi ojú ṣọ́nà fún ìpadàbọ̀ Ọmọ rẹ̀ láti ọ̀run wá, ẹni tí ó jí dìde kúrò nínú òkú, Jesu, ẹni tí ó gbà wá lọ́wọ́ ìbínú tí ń bọ̀.
