< 1 Thessalonians 5 >
1 Brothers and sisters, we don't need to write anything to you about prophetic times and dates.
Anuanom, ɛho nhia sɛ mɛkyerɛw akyerɛ mo nna ne bere a saa nsɛm yi besisi.
2 You yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
Efisɛ mo ankasa munim yiye sɛ da a Awurade bɛba no bɛyɛ sɛ ɔkorɔmfo a ɔreba anadwo.
3 When people talk about peace and security suddenly they will be completely ruined. It will be just like the sudden onset of childbirth, and they certainly won't escape.
Bere a nnipa bɛka se, “Biribiara yɛ asomdwoe” no, saa bere no na adesɛe bɛba wɔn so. Na wɔrentumi nguan. Ɛbɛyɛ te sɛ yaw a ɛba ɔpemfo a ɔrewo so no.
4 But you, brothers and sisters, are not in the dark about this so that you won't be caught by surprise when the Day of Judgment arrives suddenly like a thief.
Nanso mo anuanom yi de, monte sum mu nti ɛnsɛ sɛ saa da no fu mo mu sɛ ɔkorɔmfo.
5 For you are all children of light and children of the day. We don't belong to the night or to darkness.
Mo nyinaa moyɛ hann ne adekyee mma. Yɛnyɛ anadwo ne sum mma.
6 So then we shouldn't be sleeping like everybody else—we should stay awake and keep ourselves clear-headed.
Ɛno nti, ɛnsɛ sɛ yɛdeda sɛ afoforo no. Ɛsɛ sɛ yɛwɛn na yɛbrɛ yɛn ho ase.
7 For it's during the night that people sleep; and it's at night that they get drunk.
Anadwo na nnipa da. Anadwo na nnipa bow nsa.
8 But since we belong to the day we should keep our heads clear, strapping on the breastplate of trust and love, and putting on as a helmet the hope of salvation.
Nanso yɛyɛ adekyee mma nti, ɛsɛ sɛ yɛbrɛ yɛn ho ase. Ɛsɛ sɛ yɛhyɛ gyidi ne ɔdɔ nkatabo ne yɛn nkwagye anidaso sɛ dade kyɛw.
9 For God hasn't placed us in a position to be punished, but has reserved us for salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Onyankopɔn anyi yɛn sɛ yemmehu amane wɔ nʼabufuw ano, na mmom oyii yɛn sɛ yebenya nkwagye wɔ Awurade Yesu Kristo mu.
10 He's the one who died for us so that whether we're alive or dead we shall live together with him.

11 So encourage and strengthen one another, just as you are doing.

12 Brothers and sisters, we're asking you to respect those who work with you, who lead you in the Lord and teach you.
Anuanom, yɛsrɛ mo sɛ momfa obu ne nidi mma wɔn a Awurade ayi wɔn sɛ wonni mo anim nkyerɛkyerɛ mo no.
13 You should value them highly in love for the work they do. Live in peace with each other.
Esiane adwuma a wɔyɛ no nti, mummu wɔn na monnɔ wɔn yiye. Montena ase asomdwoe mu.
14 We urge you, brothers and sisters, to warn those who are lazy, encourage those who are anxious, help those who are weak, and be patient with everyone.
Anuanom, yɛhyɛ mo sɛ monkasa nkyerɛ anihawfo, monka wɔn a wɔnyɛ hyew no hyew; mommoa wɔn a wɔyɛ mmerɛw; montɔ mo bo ase mma wɔn nyinaa.
15 Make sure none of you pays back evil for evil, but always try to do good to one another, and to everyone.
Monhwɛ sɛ obi mmfa bɔne a obi ayɛ no no ho ka ntua no. Bere biara momma ɛnyɛ mo botae sɛ mobɛyɛ papa ama mo ho mo ho ne obiara.

19 Don't hold the Spirit back,
Monnka Honhom Kronkron no nhyɛ;

21 make sure to check everything. Hold onto whatever is good;
Monsɔ biribiara nhwɛ; momfa nea eye.
22 keep away from every kind of evil.
Na munkyi bɔne biara.
23 May the God of peace himself make you completely holy, and may your whole being—body, mind and spirit—be kept blameless for when our Lord Jesus Christ returns.
Na ɔno asomdwoe Nyankopɔn no ara ntew mo ho koraa, na ɔnhwɛ mo honhom ne mo kra ne mo nipadua so a ɛho remma asɛm biara kosi sɛ yɛn Awurade Yesu Kristo bɛba.
24 The one who calls you is trustworthy, and he will do this.
Ɔnokwafo ne nea ɔfrɛɛ mo no, ɔno nso na ɔbɛyɛ.
25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us.
Anuanom, mommɔ mpae mma yɛn.
26 Greet all the believers there affectionately.
Momfa mfewano kronkron nkyiakyia anuanom nyinaa.
27 I'm requiring you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the believers.
