< 1 Samuel 3 >
1 The boy Samuel served before the Lord under Eli's supervision. At that time messages from the Lord were rare—visions were not common.
Elenge mobali Samuele azalaki kosalela Yawe na bokambami ya Eli. Na mikolo wana, Yawe azalaki koloba mingi te epai ya bato, mpe bimoniseli ezalaki mingi te.
2 One evening, Eli had gone to bed in his room. His eyes were now so weak that he couldn't see.
Mokolo moko na butu, Nganga-Nzambe Eli azalaki ya kolala na esika na ye; miso na ye elembaki mpe akokaki lisusu komona te.
3 The lamp of God hadn't yet gone out, and Samuel was sleeping in the Lord's Temple where the Ark of God was.
Mwinda ya Esika ya bule ezalaki kopela, wana Samuele azalaki ya kolala kati na Tempelo ya Yawe, epai wapi Sanduku ya Nzambe ezalaki.
4 Then the Lord called, “Samuel!” He answered, “I'm here.”
Yawe abengaki Samuele, mpe ye azongisaki: — Ngai oyo!
5 He ran to Eli, and said, “I'm here—you called me.” “I didn't call you,” Eli replied. “Go back to bed.” So Samuel went back to bed.
Akendeki mbangu epai ya Eli mpe alobaki: — Ngai oyo, obengi ngai! Kasi Eli alobaki na ye: — Nabengi yo te! Zonga mpe lala. Samuele akendeki mpe alalaki.
6 Then the Lord called again, “Samuel!” Samuel got up, went to Eli and said, “I'm here—you called me.” “I didn't call you, my son,” Eli replied. “Go back to bed.”
Yawe abengaki lisusu: — Samuele! Samuele alamukaki, azongaki epai ya Eli mpe alobaki: — Ngai oyo, obengi ngai! Eli alobaki na ye: — Mwana na ngai, nabengi yo te. Zonga, kende kolala.
7 (Samuel hadn't yet come to know the Lord and had not received any message from him.)
Nzokande, Samuele ayebaki nanu Yawe te mpe atikalaki nanu te koyoka Yawe koloba na ye ata mbala moko.
8 The Lord called again for the third time, “Samuel!” He got up went to Eli and said, “I'm here—you called me.” Then Eli realized that it was the Lord calling the boy.
Yawe abengaki Samuele na mbala ya misato; mpe Samuele atelemaki, akendeki epai ya Eli mpe alobaki: — Ngai oyo, obengi ngai! Bongo Eli asosolaki ete ezalaki Yawe nde azalaki kobenga elenge mobali.
9 Eli told Samuel, “Go back to bed, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, because your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to his bed.
Boye Eli alobaki na Samuele: — Kende na yo kolala; mpe soki abengi yo, okoloba: « Yawe loba, pamba te mosali na Yo azali koyoka! » Samuele akendeki mpe alalaki na esika na ye.
10 The Lord came and stood there, calling just as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” Samuel answered, “Speak, because your servant is listening.”
Yawe ayaki mpe atelemaki wana; abengaki lokola na mbala mosusu: — Samuele! Samuele! Samuele azongisaki: — Nkolo, loba, pamba te mosali na Yo azali koyoka.
11 The Lord told Samuel: “Pay attention, because I'm going to do something in Israel that will surprise everyone who hears it.
Yawe alobaki na Samuele: — Tala, nalingi kosala likambo moko oyo, kati na Isalaele, ekosala pasi na matoyi ya moto nyonso oyo akoyoka yango.
12 That's when I will carry out against Eli and his family everything I have said, from beginning to end.
Na tango wana, nakokokisa makambo nyonso oyo nayebisaki Eli mpo na kotelemela libota na ye, wuta na ebandeli kino na suka.
13 I told him that I will judge his family forever because of the sins he knows about, because his sons blasphemed God and he did not try and stop them.
Pamba te nayebisaki ye ete nakosambisa libota na ye mpo na libela, mpo na masumu oyo ye ayebi, masumu oyo na nzela na yango bana na ye ya mibali bamikomisaki mbindo, kasi ye apamelaki bango te.
14 That's why I swore to Eli and his family, ‘The guilt of Eli and his descendants will never be removed by sacrifice or offering.’”
Yango wana, nalapi ndayi mpo na ndako ya Eli ete mbeba ya libota na ye ekotikala kolimbisama te, ezala na nzela ya bambeka to ya makabo.
15 Samuel remained in bed until the morning. Then he got up and opened the doors of the Lord's Temple as usual. He was afraid to tell Eli about the vision.
Samuele alalaki kino na tongo. Bongo sima na ye kolamuka, afungolaki bikuke ya Tempelo ya Yawe. Azalaki kobanga koyebisa Eli emoniseli oyo azwaki.
16 But Eli called him and said, “Samuel, my son.” “I'm here,” Samuel answered.
Kasi Eli abengaki Samuele mpe alobaki: — Samuele, mwana na ngai! Samuele azongisaki: — Ngai oyo!
17 “What did he tell you?” Eli asked. “Don't hide it from me. May God punish you very severely if you hide anything he told you from me!”
Eli atunaki ye: — Makambo nini Yawe ayebisaki yo? Kobombela ngai te. Tika ete Nzambe apesa yo etumbu ya makasi soki obombeli ngai ata likambo moko kati na nyonso oyo alobaki na yo.
18 So Samuel told him everything and didn't hide anything from him. “It's the Lord,” Eli replied. “May he do what he thinks is good.”
Boye Samuele ayebisaki ye makambo nyonso, abombelaki ye ata likambo moko te. Mpe Eli alobaki: — Azali Yawe. Tika ete asala makambo oyo ezali malamu na miso na Ye.
19 Samuel continued to grow up. The Lord was with him and made sure all he said was trustworthy.
Wana Samuele azalaki kokola, Yawe azalaki elongo na ye mpe azalaki kokokisa maloba na Ye nyonso.
20 Everyone in the whole of Israel from Dan to Beersheba recognized that Samuel was a trustworthy prophet of the Lord.
Bato nyonso ya Isalaele, longwa na Dani kino na Beri-Sheba, bandimaki ete Samuele azali penza mosakoli ya Yawe.
21 The Lord went on appearing at Shiloh, because there he revealed himself to Samuel and delivered his messages,
