1 Samuel 26
1 The people of Ziph went to Saul at Gibeah and told him, “David's hiding on the hill of Hakilah, opposite the wastelands.”
E vieram os zipheus a Saul, a Gibeah, dizendo: Não está David escondido no outeiro de Hachila, à entrada de Jesimon?
2 So Saul went to the Desert of Ziph along with three thousand specially-picked men from Israel to search for David there.
Então Saul se levantou, e desceu ao deserto de Ziph, e com ele três mil homens escolhidos de Israel, a buscar a David no deserto de Ziph.
3 Saul set up camp beside the road at the hill of Hachilah opposite the wastelands, near to where David was living in the desert. When he realized that Saul had come looking for him there,
E acampou-se Saul no outeiro de Hachila, que está à entrada de Jesimon, junto ao caminho: porém David ficou no deserto, e viu que Saul vinha após dele ao deserto.
4 he sent out spies and found out Saul had definitely arrived.
Pois David enviou espias, e soube que Saul vinha decerto.
5 One night David got up and went over to Saul's camp and saw where Saul was sleeping, along with Abner, son of Ner, the army commander. Saul was lying in the middle of the camp with his men all around him.
E David se levantou, e veio ao lugar onde Saul se tinha acampado; viu David o lugar onde se tinha deitado Saul, e Abner, filho de Ner, chefe do seu exército: e Saul estava deitado dentro do lugar dos carros, e o povo estava acampado ao redor dele.
6 David asked Ahimelech the Hittite and Abishai, son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, “Who wants to go with me into the camp to Saul?” “I'll go with you,” Abishai replied.
E respondeu David, e falou a Achimelech, o hetheu, e a Abisai, filho de Zeruia, irmão de Jacob, dizendo: Quem descerá comigo a Saul ao arraial? E disse Abisai: Eu descerei contigo.
7 So David and Abishai went to the army camp at night. Saul was sleeping there in the camp with his spear stuck in the ground beside his head, with Abner and his men sleeping around him.
Vieram pois David e Abisai de noite ao povo, e eis que Saul estava deitado dormindo dentro do lugar dos carros, e a sua lança estava pregada na terra à sua cabeceira: e Abner e o povo deitavam-se ao redor dele.
8 Abishai said to David, “God has handed your enemy over to you today. So please let me spear him to the ground in one go. I won't need to do it twice!”
Então disse Abisai a David: Deus te entregou hoje nas mãos a teu inimigo; deixa-mo pois agora encravar com a lança de uma vez com a terra, e não o ferirei segunda vez
9 But David said to Abishai, “No, don't kill him! Who can attack the Lord's anointed one and not be guilty of a crime?
E disse David a Abisai: Nenhum dano lhe faças: porque quem estendeu a sua mão contra o ungido do Senhor, e ficou inocente?
10 As the Lord lives, the Lord himself will kill him. Either his time will come and he'll die, or he will go into battle and be killed.
Disse mais David: Vive o Senhor, que o Senhor o ferirá, ou o seu dia chegará em que morra, ou descerá para a batalha e perecerá;
11 May the Lord prevent me from attacking the Lord's anointed one. Just pick up the spear and water jug beside his head, and let's go.”
O Senhor me guarde, de que eu estenda a mão contra o ungido do Senhor: agora porém toma lá a lança que está à sua cabeceira e a bilha da água, e vamo-nos.
12 David took the spear and water jug beside Saul's head, and they left. Nobody saw anything; nobody knew what had happened; nobody woke up. Everybody stayed asleep, because the Lord had made them fall into a deep sleep.
Tomou pois David a lança e a bilha da água, da cabeceira de Saul, e foram-se: e ninguém houve que o visse, nem que o advertisse, nem que acordasse; porque todos estavam dormindo, porque havia caído sobre eles um profundo sono do Senhor.
13 Then David went back over to the other side, and stood on top of the hill far enough away—there was a considerable distance between them.
E David, passando à outra banda, pôs-se no cume do monte ao longe, de maneira que entre eles havia grande distância.
14 He shouted down to the army and Abner, son of Ner, “Aren't you going to answer me, Abner?” “Who is that shouting, disturbing the king?” Abner called back.
E David bradou ao povo, e a Abner, filho de Ner, dizendo: Não responderás, Abner? Então Abner respondeu e disse: Quem és tu, que bradas ao rei
15 David called to Abner, “Aren't you meant to be this great man? Is there anyone in Israel who is better than you? So why didn't you protect your master the king when someone came to kill him?
Então disse David a Abner: Porventura não és varão? e quem há em Israel como tu, porque, pois, não guardaste tu o rei teu senhor? porque um do povo veio para destruir o rei teu senhor.
16 You haven't done well at all. As the Lord lives, you all deserve to die, because you did not protect your master, the Lord's anointed. Take a look around. Where are the king's spear and water jug that were beside his head?”
Não é bom isto, que fizeste; vive o Senhor, que sois dignos de morte, vós que não guardastes a vosso senhor, o ungido do Senhor: vede pois agora onde está a lança do rei, e a bilha da água, que tinha à sua cabeceira.
17 Saul recognized David's voice and asked, “Is that you speaking, David, my son?” “Yes it's me, my lord and king,” David replied.
Então conheceu Saul a voz de David, e disse: Não é esta a tua voz, meu filho David? E disse David: Minha voz é, ó rei meu senhor.
18 “Why is my lord hunting me, his servant? What is it that I've done? What crime am I guilty of?” he continued.
Disse mais: Porque persegue o meu senhor assim o seu servo? porque, que fiz eu? e que maldade se acha nas minhas mãos?
19 “Please listen to me, my lord and king. If the Lord has made you angry with me, then may he be happy to accept an offering. But if it's men that have done it, may they be cursed before the Lord! For all this while they've been driving me away from living among God's chosen people, telling me, ‘Go away and worship other gods.’
Ouve pois agora, te rogo, rei meu senhor, as palavras de teu servo: Se o Senhor te incita contra mim, cheire ele a oferta de manjares; porém se os filhos dos homens, malditos sejam perante o Senhor: pois eles me tem expelido hoje para que eu não fique apegado à herança do Senhor, dizendo: vai, serve a outros deuses.
20 Please don't let me die so far from the presence of the Lord. The king of Israel has come to chase down one little flea, hunting me like someone who hunts a partridge in the mountains.”
Agora pois não se derrame o meu sangue na terra diante do Senhor: pois saiu o rei de Israel em busca de uma pulga; como quem persegue uma perdiz nos montes.
21 “I've done wrong,” Saul replied, “Come back, David, my son. I won't ever try to harm you again, because you valued me and spared my life today. I've been so stupid! I've made a big mistake!”
Então disse Saul: Pequei; volta, meu filho David, porque não ordenarei a fazer-te mal; porque foi hoje preciosa a minha vida aos teus olhos: eis que fiz loucamente, e errei grandissimamente.
22 “I have the king's spear here,” said David. “Send one of your men over to collect it.
David então respondeu, e disse: Eis aqui a lança do rei; passe cá um dos mancebos, e leve-a.
23 The Lord rewards all those who do what is right and who are trustworthy. The Lord handed you over to me today, but I refused to harm the Lord's anointed one.
O Senhor porém pague a cada um a sua justiça e a sua lealdade; pois o Senhor te tinha dado hoje na minha mão, porém não quis estender a minha mão contra o ungido do Senhor.
24 In the same way as I valued your life today, may the Lord value my life, and may he rescue me from all my troubles.”
E eis que assim como foi a tua vida hoje de tanta estima aos meus olhos, doutra tanta estima seja a minha vida aos olhos do Senhor, e ele me livre de toda a tribulação.
25 Saul said to David, “May you be blessed, David my son. You will accomplish a great deal and always be successful.” David left, and Saul went back home.
Então Saul disse a David: bendito sejas tu, meu filho David; pois grandes coisas farás e também prevalecerás. Então David se foi pelo seu caminho e Saul voltou para o seu lugar.
