1 Kings 1
1 King David had grown old and couldn't keep warm in bed however many blankets they used to cover him.
१आता राजा दावीद म्हातारा होऊन उतारवयात पोहोंचला होता. त्यांनी त्याच्यावर कितीही पांघरुणे घातली तरी त्यास ऊब येईना.
2 So his officials suggested, “Let a search be made on behalf of Your Majesty for a young virgin to serve you and look after you. She can lie next to you and keep you warm.”
२म्हणून त्याचे सेवक त्यास म्हणाले, “आपण आपल्या प्रभूराजासाठी एखादी तरुण कुमारी पाहूया. अशासाठी की तिने राजाची सेवा करावी आणि काळजी घ्यावी. आपल्या प्रभूराजाला ऊब यावी म्हणून ती तुझ्या उराशी निजेल.”
3 So they searched the whole country of Israel for a beautiful young woman and found Abishag from the town of Shunem and took her to the king.
३आणि सेवकांनी या कामासाठी इस्राएलामध्ये सुंदर तरुण कन्यांचा शोध सुरु केला. तेव्हा त्यांना शुनेम या नगरात अबीशग नावाची कन्या सापडली. त्यांनी तिला राजाकडे आणले.
4 She was very beautiful, and she looked after the king, attending to his needs, but he did not have sex with her.
४ती अतिशय देखणी होती. तिने अतिशय काळजीपूर्वक राजाची शुश्रूषा केली. असे असले तरी राजाने तिच्याशी लैंगिक संबंध ठेवले नाहीत.
5 Adonijah, son of Haggith, was busy promoting himself, saying “I'm going to be king!” He arranged chariots and horsemen for himself, and fifty men to run ahead of him.
५तेव्हा हग्गीथ्थेचा पुत्र अदोनीया स्वत: ला उंच करून म्हणाला, “मी राजा होईन.” त्याने स्वत: समोर रथ, घोडे तयार केले आणि रथापुढे धावायला पन्नास माणसे ठेवली.
6 (Never in his life had his father corrected him. He'd never asked him, “Why did you do that?” He was also very good-looking, and had been born after Absalom.)
६“तू असे का करतोस?” असे म्हणून दाविदाने त्यास कधी दुखावलेले नव्हते, शिवाय अदोनीया हा दिसायलाही सुंदर होता, अबशालोमानंतर त्याचा जन्म झाला होता.
7 Adonijah discussed his plan with Joab, son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest, who agreed to support him.
७सरूवेचा पुत्र यवाब आणि याजक अब्याथार यांच्याशी अदोनीयाने बोलणे केले. त्यांनी अदोनीयाला अनुसरून त्यास सहाय्य केले.
8 But Zadok the priest, Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, Nathan the prophet, Shimei, Rei, and David's bodyguard were not on Adonijah's side.
८पण सादोक याजक, यहोयादाचा पुत्र बनाया, नाथान संदेष्टा, शिमी रेई आणि दाविदाच्या पदरी असलेले वीर, ह्यानी अदोनीयाला अनुसरले नाही.
9 Adonijah invited all his brothers, the king's sons, and the king's officials of Judah, to come to the stone of Zoheleth, which is near En-rogel, where he sacrificed sheep, cattle and fattened calves.
९एन-रोगेलजवळ जोहेलेथ खडकापाशी अदोनीयाने मेंढरे, गुरे, पुष्ट वासरे कापले व आपले भाऊ, राजाची मुले आणि यहूदातील सर्व लोकांस, जे राजाचे चाकर होते त्यांना बोलावले.
10 But he didn't invite Nathan the prophet, Benaiah, David's bodyguard, or his brother Solomon.
१०पण राजाचे खास शूर वीर, आपला भाऊ शलमोन, बनाया आणि संदेष्टा नाथान यांना त्याने बोलावले नाही.
11 Nathan went to Bathsheba, Solomon's mother, and asked her, “Haven't you heard that Adonijah, son of Haggith, has become king, and His Majesty King David doesn't even know?
११तेव्हा शलमोनाची आई बथशेबा हिच्याशी नाथान बोलला, “हग्गीथेचा पुत्र अदोनीया हा राजा झाला, आणि आपले स्वामी दावीद यांना त्याचा पत्तासुद्धा नाही, असे तुझ्या कानावर आले नाही काय?”
12 Let me give you some advice so you can save your life, and that of your son Solomon.
१२तर आता चल मी तुला सल्ला देतो, अशारितीने तू आपला जीव व तुझा मुलगा शलमोन याचा जीव वाचवशील.
13 Go immediately to King David and ask him, ‘Didn't Your Majesty swear to me, your servant, saying, Your son Solomon will definitely be king after me and will sit on my throne? So why is Adonijah saying he's king?’
१३तर आता तू दावीद राजा कडे जा आणि त्यास म्हण की, माझ्या स्वामी तुम्ही मला वचन दिले नाही काय? “खचित तुझा पुत्र शलमोन माझ्यानंतर राज्य करील, आणि तोच माझ्या राजासनावर बसेल?” तर मग अदोनीया का राज्य करीत आहे?
14 Then I'll come in while you're still there talking with the king and I'll confirm what you're saying.”
१४“तुझे राजाशी बोलणे चाललेले असतानाच मी तेथे येईन व तुझ्या शब्दांची खात्री पटवून देईन.”
15 So Bathsheba went to see the king in his bedroom. He was very old and Abishag was looking after him.
१५तेव्हा राजाला भेटायला बथशेबा त्याच्या खोलीत गेली राजा फारच थकला होता, शुनेमची अबीशग राजाची सेवा करत होती.
16 Bathsheba bowed low in respect. He asked her, “What is it that you want?”
१६बथशेबाने राजाला लवून अभिवादन केले. राजा म्हणाला, “तुझी काय इच्छा आहे.”
17 She replied, “Your Majesty, you swore to me, your servant, by the Lord your God, ‘Your son Solomon will definitely be king after me and will sit on my throne.’
१७ती त्यास म्हणाली, “महाराज, तुम्ही आपल्या परमेश्वर देवासमक्ष मला वचन दिले आहे की, माझ्यानंतर शलमोन राजा होईल व तोच या राजासनावर बसेल असे तुम्ही म्हणाला आहात.
18 But now Adonijah has become king and Your Majesty doesn't even know.
१८तर आता पाहा, अदोनीया राजा झाला आहे, आणि तुम्ही माझे स्वामी महाराज, तुम्हास याची माहितीही नाही का?
19 He has sacrificed plenty of cattle, fattened calves, and sheep, and he has invited all the king's sons, Abiathar the priest, and Joab the army commander. But he didn't invite your servant Solomon.
१९त्याने तर अनेक गुरे आणि पुष्ट पशू, उत्तम मेंढरे कापून शांत्यर्पणाचा यज्ञ केला आहे, त्याने सर्वांना आमंत्रित केले आहे. तुमची मुले, याजक अब्याथार, सेनापती यवाब यांना त्याने बोलावले आहे. पण तुमचा सेवक शलमोन याला मात्र बोलावणे पाठवले नाही.
20 Now, Your Majesty, everyone in Israel is watching to see who you're going to say will be the next king.
२०महाराज, आता सर्व इस्राएल लोकांचे तुमच्याकडे लक्ष लागले आहे. स्वत: नंतर तुम्ही कोणाला राजा म्हणून घोषित करता याची ते वाट बघत आहेत.
21 If you don't do anything, as soon as Your Majesty dies, I and my son Solomon will be considered traitors…”
२१नाहीतर माझे स्वामी राजे आपल्या वाडवडिलांसारखे झोपल्यावर, मी आणि शलमोन लोकांच्या दृष्टीने गुन्हेगार ठरु.”
22 Right then, while she was still speaking with the king, Nathan the prophet arrived.
२२बथशेबा हे राजाशी बोलत असतानाच, नाथान संदेष्टा राजाला भेटायला आला.
23 The king was told, “Nathan the prophet is here.” Nathan went in to see the king. He bowed down with his face to the ground.
२३राजाच्या सेवकांनी त्यास सांगितले, “तेव्हा नाथान संदेष्टा राजाच्या समोर आला” व खाली लवून अभिवादन केले.
24 Nathan asked the king, “Your Majesty, you must have announced, ‘Adonijah will be king after me and will sit on my throne.’
२४मग नाथान म्हणाला, “महाराज, तुमच्यानंतर अदोनीया राज्यावर येणार असे तुम्ही घोषित केले काय? आणि तो तुमच्या राजासनावर बसेल असे तुम्ही ठरवले आहे काय?”
25 For today he has gone and sacrificed many cattle, fattened calves, and sheep, and he has invited all the king's sons, the army commanders, and Abiathar the priest. Right now they are eating and drinking with him, shouting, ‘Long live King Adonijah!’
२५कारण आजच त्याने खाली जाऊन गुरे, पुष्ट पशू, मेंढरे कापून शांत्यर्पणाचा यज्ञ केला आहे तुमचे पुत्र, सेनापती, व अब्याथार याजक यांना त्याचे आमंत्रण आहे. ते सगळे आत्ता त्याच्याबरोबर खाण्यापिण्यात दंग आहेत, “राजा अदोनीया चिरायु होवो” म्हणून घोषणा देत आहेत.
26 But he didn't invite me, your servant, or Zadok the priest, or Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, or your son Solomon.
२६पण मी, सादोक याजक यहोयादाचा पुत्र बनाया आणि तुमचा सेवक शलमोन यांना मात्र त्याने बोलावलेले नाही.
27 If Your Majesty did this, you certainly didn't inform your officials as to who is meant to sit on your throne as the next king.”
२७माझे स्वामी, राजा आपल्याकडून हे आम्हाला न सांगता झाले का? यानंतर राजासनावर कोण बसेल? हे तुझ्या सेवकांना कळव.
28 King David replied, “Call Bathsheba for me.” Bathsheba came in and stood before the king.
२८तेव्हा राजा दावीद म्हणाला, “बथशेबाला पुन्हा माझ्याकडे बोलवा” त्याप्रमाणे बथशेबा राजासमोर येवून उभी राहिली.
29 The king swore a vow, saying, “As the Lord lives, who has saved me from all kinds of trouble, just as I swore to you previously by the Lord the God of Israel,
२९मग राजाने शपथपूर्वक वचन दिले: “परमेश्वर देवाने आत्तापर्यंत मला सर्व संकटातून सोडवले आहे. देवाला स्मरुन मी हे वचन देतो.
30 telling you Solomon your son will be the next king and he will sit on my throne instead of me—I swear I will do this today.”
३०पूर्वी मी जे वचन तुला दिले त्याप्रमाणे मी आज करणार आहे. इस्राएलाच्या परमेश्वर देवाने हे वचन द्यायचे मला सामर्थ्य दिले, त्याप्रमाणे मी कबूल करतो की माझ्यानंतर तुझा पुत्र शलमोन राज्य करील, या राजासनावर माझ्यानंतर तो आरुढ होईल. आजच हे मी पूर्ण करील.”
31 Bathsheba bowed with her face to the ground, honoring the king and said, “May Your Majesty King David live forever.”
३१बथशेबाने हे ऐकून राजाला लवून वंदन केले व म्हणाली, “माझे स्वामीराज दावीद चिरायु होवो.”
32 Then King David said, “Call for me Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, son of Jehoiada.” When they arrived,
३२मग दावीद राजा म्हणाला, “सादोक हा याजक, नाथान संदेष्टा आणि यहोयादाचा पुत्र बनाया यांना येथे बोलावून घ्या” तेव्हा ते तिघेजण राजाच्या भेटीला आले.
33 the king told them, “Take the king's officials with you, and have them put Solomon on my own mule and lead him down to the Gihon Spring.
३३राजा त्यांना म्हणाला, माझ्या अधिकाऱ्यांना सोबत घ्या. माझा पुत्र शलमोन याला माझ्या स्वत: च्या खेचरावर बसवून खाली गीहोनाकडे जा.
34 There have Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him king of Israel. Blow the trumpet and shout out, ‘Long live King Solomon!’
३४तेथे सादोक याजक आणि नाथान संदेष्टा यांनी त्यास इस्राएलचा राजा म्हणून अभिषेक करावा. रणशिंग फुंकून जाहीर करावे की “शलमोन राजा चिरायू असो.”
35 Then follow him back up, and have him come and sit on my throne. He is to be king instead of me. I am placing him in charge as ruler of Israel and Judah.”
३५मग त्यास घेऊन माझ्याकडे या. तो या राजासनावर बसेल आणि राजा म्हणून माझी जागा घेईल. इस्राएल आणि यहूदाचा अधिकारी व्हावा म्हणून मी शलमोनला निवडले आहे.
36 “Amen!” replied Benaiah, son of Jehoiada. “May the Lord, the God of my lord the king, confirm this!
३६यहोयादाचा पुत्र बनाया राजाला म्हणाला, “आमेन! परमेश्वर, माझ्या स्वामीचा देव याला मान्यता देवो.
37 In the same way the Lord was with my lord the king may he be with Solomon, and may he make his reign even greater than the reign of my lord King David.”
३७महाराज, जसा परमेश्वर आपल्याबरोबर होता. तोच परमेश्वर तसाच शलमोनाच्याही बरोबर राहील, आणि राजा शलमोनच्या राज्याची भरभराट करो आणि माझे स्वामी, दावीद आपल्यापेक्षा त्याचे राजासन महान करो.”
38 Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, together with the Cherethites and Pelethites, went and placed Solomon on King David's mule, and led him down to the Gihon Spring.
३८सादोक याजक, नाथान भविष्यवादी, यहोयादाचा पुत्र बनाया आणि राजाचे सेवक करेथी व पलेथी यांनी खाली जाउन राजा दाविदाच्या सांगण्याप्रमाणे केले. दाविदाच्या खेचरावर शलमोनाला बसवून ते गीहोन येथे गेले.
39 Zadok the priest took the horn containing olive oil from the Tent and anointed Solomon. Then they blew the trumpet, and all the people shouted, “Long live King Solomon!”
३९सादोक याजकाने पवित्र मंडपातून तेल आणले. आणि त्या तेलाने शलमोनाच्या मस्तकावर अभिषेक केला. त्यांनी कर्णा फुंकला आणि सर्वांनी “शलमोन राजा चिरायू होवो” असा एकच जयजयकार केला.
40 Everyone followed him, playing flutes and celebrating so happily that the sound shook the earth.
४०मग शलमोनाबरोबर सर्वजण नगरात आले. येताना ते पावा वाजवत आले. लोकांस उत्साहाचे, आनंदाचे भरते आले होते. त्यांच्या जल्लोषाने धरणी कंप पावली.
41 Adonijah and all his guests heard the noise as they were finishing eating. When Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he asked, “What's all this noise coming from the city?”
४१हे चाललेले असताना इकडे अदोनीया आणि त्याची पाहुणे मंडळी यांचे भोजन आटपत आलेले होते. त्यांनी हा कर्ण्यांचा आवाज ऐकला. यवाबाने विचारले, “हा कसला आवाज? नगरात काय चालले आहे?”
42 While he was speaking, Jonathan, son of Abiathar the priest, suddenly arrived. “Come on in,” said Adonijah. “A good man like you must be bringing good news.”
४२यवाबाचे बोलणे संपत नाही तोच अब्याथार याजकाचा पुत्र योनाथान तिथे आला. अदोनीया त्यास म्हणाला, “ये तू भला मनुष्य आहेस. तेव्हा माझ्यासाठी तू चांगलीच बातमी आणली असशील.”
43 “Absolutely not!” Jonathan replied. “Our lord King David has made Solomon king!
४३पण योनाथानाने अदोनीयाला उत्तर देऊन म्हणाला, “आमचा स्वामी, दावीद याने शलमोनाला राजा केले आहे.”
44 He sent Solomon to be anointed with Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites. They had him ride on the king's mule.
४४दाविदाने सादोक याजक, नाथान संदेष्टा, यहोयादाचा पुत्र बनाया, करेथी आणि पलेथी आपले सेवक यांना शलमोनाबरोबर पाठवले. त्यांनी शलमोनाला राजाच्या खेचरावर बसवले.
45 Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anointed him king at the Gihon Spring. Now they have returned, celebrating with shouts that echo round the city. That's the noise you're hearing.
४५मग सादोक याजक आणि नाथान संदेष्टा यांनी गीहोन येथे शलमोन राजाला अभिषेक केला. यानंतर ते सर्वजण आनंदाने नगरात परतले, नगरातील लोक त्यामुळे फार आनंदात आहेत. हा जल्लोष त्यांचाच आहे.
46 On top of that, Solomon is sitting on the royal throne,
४६शलमोन आता राज्याचा राजासनावर बसला आहे.
47 and the royal officials have also gone to voice their approval to our lord King David, saying, ‘May your God make Solomon's reputation even more famous than your own, and may he make his reign greater than your reign.’ The king on his bed bowed his head,
४७राजाचा सेवकवर्ग स्वामी दावीद राजाला आशीर्वाद देत आहे. ते म्हणत आहेत, राजा दावीद थोर आहे. शलमोन त्याच्यापेक्षा थोर व्हावा अशी देवाजवळ आमची प्रार्थना आहे देव शलमोनाचे नाव तुमच्यापेक्षाही कीर्तिवंत करो. त्याचे राजासन तुझ्या राजासनापेक्षाही थोर होवो. तेव्हा पलंगावरूनच वाकून राजा अभिवादन करत होता.
48 and said, ‘Praise the Lord, the God of Israel! Today he has provided a successor to sit on my throne, and I have been privileged to see it.’”
४८आणि राजा म्हणाला, “इस्राएलाच्या परमेश्वर देव धन्य असो. परमेश्वराने माझ्या डोळ्यादेखत एका व्यक्तीला माझ्या राजासनावर बसवले आहे.”
49 When all of the guests who were supporting Adonijah heard this they shook with fear. They got up and rushed out in different directions.
४९हे ऐकून अदोनीयाची आमंत्रित पाहुणे मंडळी घाबरली आणि त्यांनी तेथून पळ काढला.
50 Adonijah was terrified of Solomon, so he ran off. He went and grabbed hold of the horns of the altar.
५०अदोनीया शलमोनाला घाबरला, व जावून तो वेदीपाशी गेला आणि वेदीचे दोन्ही शिंगे पकडून बसला.
51 Solomon was told, “Adonijah is terrified of Your Majesty. He has grabbed hold of the horns of the altar, saying, ‘Let King Solomon swear today that he won't kill me, his servant!’”
५१कोणीतरी शलमोनाला सांगितले, “अदोनीया तुमच्या धास्तीने पवित्र मंडपात वेदीची शिंगे धरुन बसला आहे. तो तिथून हलायला तयार नाही शलमोन राजाने मला तलवारीने मारणार नाही याचे अभिवचन द्यावे असे तो म्हणत आहे.”
52 Solomon replied, “If he is an honorable man, not one hair of his will fall to the ground. But if he shows himself to be evil, he will die.”
५२तेव्हा शलमोन म्हणाला, “एक भला गृहस्थ असल्याचे अदोनीयाने सिध्द केले तर त्याच्या केसासही इजा होणार नाही. पण त्याच्यात दुष्टता दिसली तर तो मरण पावेल.”
53 King Solomon had Adonijah brought down from the altar, and he came and bowed down before King Solomon, who told him, “Go home.”
५३मग राजा शलमोनाने अदोनीयाकडे आपल्या मनुष्यांना पाठवले, ते त्यास राजाकडे घेऊन आले. अदोनीयाने राजा शलमोनाला वाकून अभिवादन केले. “शलमोनाने त्यास घरी परत जाण्यास सांगितले.”
