< 1 Kings 6 >

1 Four hundred and eighty years after the Israelites left Egypt, in the fourth year of King Solomon's reign, in the month of Ziv, Solomon began building the Temple of the Lord.
Ní ìgbà tí ó pe ọ̀rìnlénírinwó ọdún lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí àwọn ọmọ Israẹli ti jáde kúrò ní ilẹ̀ Ejibiti, ní ọdún kẹrin ìjọba Solomoni lórí Israẹli, ní oṣù Sifi, tí ń ṣe oṣù kejì, ó sì bẹ̀rẹ̀ sí kọ́ ilé Olúwa.
2 The Temple King Solomon built for the Lord measured sixty cubits long by twenty cubits wide by thirty cubits high.
Ilé náà tí Solomoni ọba kọ́ fún Olúwa sì jẹ́ ọgọ́ta ìgbọ̀nwọ́ ní gígùn, ogún ìgbọ̀nwọ́ ní ìbú àti ọgbọ̀n ìgbọ̀nwọ́ ní gíga.
3 The entrance room at the front of the Temple was twenty cubits wide. It ran the whole width of the Temple and projected out ten cubits in front of the Temple.
Ìloro níwájú tẹmpili ilé náà, ogún ìgbọ̀nwọ́ ní gígùn rẹ̀, ìbú ilé náà, ìgbọ̀nwọ́ mẹ́wàá láti iwájú ilé náà.
4 He had latticed windows made to be placed high up in the Temple.
Ó sì ṣe fèrèsé tí kò fẹ̀ fún ilé náà.
5 He also had a structure built against the outer wall of the Temple, both the outer and the inner sanctuary, to provide a series of side rooms.
Lára ògiri ilé náà ni ó bu yàrá yíká; àti tẹmpili àti ibi mímọ́ jùlọ ni ó sì ṣe yàrá yíká.
6 The ground floor measured five cubits wide, the first floor six cubits, and the second floor seven cubits. In addition he had offset ledges placed all the way around the outside, so that beams would not have to be inserted into the Temple walls.
Yàrá ìsàlẹ̀ sì jẹ́ ìgbọ̀nwọ́ márùn-ún ní ìbú, ti àárín sì jẹ́ ìgbọ̀nwọ́ mẹ́fà ní ìbú, àti ẹ̀kẹta ìgbọ̀nwọ́ méje sì ni ìbú rẹ̀. Nítorí lóde ilé náà ni ó dín ìgbọ̀nwọ́ kọ̀ọ̀kan káàkiri, kí igi àjà kí ó má ba à wọ inú ògiri ilé náà.
7 When the Temple was built the stones were finished at the quarry so that no noise from any hammer, ax, or any iron tool was heard in the Temple during construction.
Ní kíkọ́ ilé náà, òkúta tí a ti gbẹ́ sílẹ̀ kí a tó mú un wá ibẹ̀ nìkan ni a lò, a kò sì gbúròó òòlù tàbí àáké tàbí ohun èlò irin kan nígbà tí a ń kọ́ ọ lọ́wọ́.
8 The entrance to the ground floor was on the south side of the Temple. Stairs led to the first floor, and then on to the second floor.
Ẹnu-ọ̀nà yàrá ìsàlẹ̀ sì wà ní ìhà gúúsù ilé náà; wọ́n sì fi àtẹ̀gùn tí ó lórí gòkè sínú yàrá àárín, àti láti yàrá àárín bọ́ sínú ẹ̀kẹta.

Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni ó kọ́ ilé náà, ó sì parí rẹ̀, ó sì bo ilé náà pẹ̀lú àwọn ìtí igi àti pákó kedari.
10 He built the external structure along the whole of the Temple. It was five cubits high, joined to the Temple with cedar joists.
Ó sì kọ́ yàrá ẹ̀gbẹ́ sí gbogbo ilé náà. Gígùn ọ̀kọ̀ọ̀kan sì jẹ́ ìgbọ̀nwọ́ márùn-ún, ó sì so wọ́n mọ́ ilé náà pẹ̀lú ìtì igi kedari.
11 The Lord sent this message to Solomon, telling him,
Ọ̀rọ̀ Olúwa sì tọ Solomoni wá wí pé,
12 “About this Temple you are building: if you follow what I have said, fulfilling my requirements and keeping my commandments in what you do, I will keep the promise I made to your father David through you.
“Ní ti ilé yìí tí ìwọ ń kọ́ lọ́wọ́, bí ìwọ bá tẹ̀lé àṣẹ mi, tí ìwọ sì ṣe ìdájọ́ mi, tí o sì pa òfin mi mọ́ láti máa ṣe wọ́n, Èmi yóò mú ìlérí tí mo ti ṣe fún Dafidi baba rẹ̀ ṣẹ nípa rẹ̀.

Èmi yóò sì máa gbé àárín àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, èmi kì ó sì kọ Israẹli ènìyàn mi.”
14 Solomon finished building the Temple.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni Solomoni kọ́ ilé náà, ó sì parí rẹ̀.
15 He lined the walls with cedar panels from floor to ceiling and he covered the floor of the Temple with cypress boards.

18 The cedar panels inside the Temple were decorated with carvings of gourds and open flowers. Everything was lined with cedar—none of the stone was visible.

27 He had the cherubim placed inside the inner sanctuary of the Temple. Since their wings were fully spread, a wing of the first cherub touched one wall, a wing of the second cherub touched the other wall, and in the middle of the Temple their wings touched.
