1 Kings 4
1 King Solomon ruled over all of Israel.
Und der König Salomo regierte über ganz Israel. Und dies waren seine obersten Beamten:
2 These were his officials: Azariah, son of Zadok, was the priest;
Asarja, der Sohn Zadoks, war Priester.
3 Elihoreph and Ahijah, sons of Shisha, were the king's secretaries. Jehoshaphat, son of Ahilud, kept the royal records.

4 Benaiah son of Jehoiada was the army commander. Zadok and Abiathar were priests.

5 Azariah, son of Nathan, was in charge of the governors. Zabud, son of Nathan, was a priest and the king's counselor.

6 Ahishar was the palace manager. Adoniram, son of Abda, was in charge of those forced to work for the king.

7 Solomon had twelve area governors whose responsibilities covered the whole of Israel, providing food for the king and his household. Each one in turn arranged supplies for one month of the year.
Und Salomo hatte zwölf Vögte über ganz Israel, die den König und sein Haus mit Speise versorgten; je einen Monat im Jahre lag jedem die Versorgung ob.
8 Their names were: Ben-hur, in the hill country of Ephraim;
Und sie hießen also: Der Sohn Churs auf dem Gebirge Ephraim;
9 Ben-deker in Makaz, Shaalbim, Beth-shemesh and Elon-beth-hanan;
der Sohn Dekers zu Makaz und zu Saalbim und zu Beth-Semes und zu Elon bis Beth-Chanan;
10 Ben-hesed in Arubboth (Socoh and all the land of Hepher was his);
der Sohn Heseds zu Arubbot, über Socho und das ganze Land Hepher;
11 Ben-abinadab, in the whole of Naphath-dor (Taphath, the daughter of Solomon, was his wife);
der Sohn Abinadabs über ganz Naphet-Dor. Dieser hatte Taphat, Salomos Tochter, zum Weibe.
12 Baana, son of Ahilud, in Taanach and Megiddo, the whole of Beth-shan near Zarethan below Jezreel, and from Beth-shan to Abel-meholah and across to Jokmeam;
Baana, der Sohn Achiluds, zu Taanach und Megiddo und über das ganze Beth-Sean, welches neben Zartan unterhalb Jesreel liegt, von Beth-Sean bis nach Abel-Mechola, bis jenseits Jokmeam.
13 Ben-geber, in Ramoth-gilead (the towns of Jair, son of Manasseh, in Gilead belonged to him, as well as the region of Argob in Bashan, with sixty great cities having walls and bronze bars);
Der Sohn Gebers zu Ramot in Gilead, der hatte die Dörfer Jairs, des Sohnes Manasses, in Gilead und die Gegend Argob, die in Basan liegt; sechzig große Städte, mit Mauern und ehernen Riegeln verwahrt.
14 Ahinadab, son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;
Achinadab, der Sohn Iddos, zu Mahanaim; Achimaaz in Naphtali;
15 Ahimaaz, in Naphtali (he had married Basemath the daughter of Solomon);
auch er hatte eine Tochter Salomos, Basmat, zum Weibe.
16 Baana, son of Hushai, in Asher and in Aloth;
Baana, der Sohn Husais, in Asser und Bealot.
17 Jehoshaphat, son of Paruah, in Issachar;
Josaphat, der Sohn Paruahas, in Issaschar.
18 Shimei, son of Ela, in Benjamin;
Simei, der Sohn Elas, in Benjamin.
19 Geber son of Uri in the land of Gilead, (the former country of Sihon, king of the Amorites, and of Og, king of Bashan. There was also a governor who was over the land of Judah).
Geber, der Sohn Uris, im Lande Gilead, im Lande Sihons, des Königs der Amoriter, und Ogs, des Königs von Basan. Nur ein Vogt war in diesem Lande.
20 Judah and Israel had become as numerous as the sand on the seashore. They ate, they drank, they were happy.
Aber Juda und Israel waren zahlreich wie der Sand am Meer. Sie aßen und tranken und waren fröhlich.
21 Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, right up to the border of Egypt. They presented tribute to Solomon and served him during his lifetime.
Also war Salomo Herrscher über alle Königreiche, vom [Euphrat-]Strome bis zum Philisterlande und bis an die Grenze Ägyptens; sie brachten ihm Gaben und dienten ihm sein Leben lang.
22 The food required every day for Solomon's court was thirty cors of the best flour and sixty cors of meal;
Salomo aber bedurfte zum Unterhalt täglich dreißig Kor Semmelmehl und dreißig Kor anderes Mehl;
23 ten fattened cattle, twenty range cattle, one hundred sheep, as well as deer, gazelles, roe deer, and fattened poultry.
zehn gemästete Rinder und zwanzig Weiderinder und hundert Schafe, ausgenommen die Hirsche und Gazellen und Damhirsche und das gemästete Geflügel.
24 For Solomon ruled over the whole region west of the Euphrates, from Tiphsah to Gaza—over all the kingdoms west of the Euphrates. And he had peace on all sides around him. He had peace on every border.
Denn er herrschte im ganzen Lande diesseits des [Euphrat-]Stromes von Tiphsach bis nach Gaza, über alle Könige diesseits des Stromes und hatte Frieden auf allen Seiten ringsum;
25 During Solomon's lifetime, everyone in Judah and Israel lived in safety, from Dan to Beersheba. Each one had their own vine and fig tree.
so daß Juda und Israel sicher wohnten, ein jeder unter seinem Weinstock und unter seinem Feigenbaum, von Dan bis Beerseba, solange Salomo lebte.
26 Solomon had 40,000 stalls for his chariot horses, and 12,000 charioteers.
Und Salomo hatte vierzigtausend Gespann Rosse für seine Wagen und zwölftausend Reitpferde.
27 Every month the area governors provided in turn food for King Solomon and all who ate at his table. They made sure that nothing was missing.
Und jene Vögte versorgten den König Salomo mit Speise; und alles, was zum Tische des Königs Salomo gehörte, brachte ein jeder in seinem Monat; sie ließen es an nichts mangeln.
28 They also delivered barley and straw where they were needed for the chariot horses and cart-horses.
Auch die Gerste und das Stroh für die Rosse und Wagenpferde brachten sie an den Ort, da er war, ein jeder nach seiner Ordnung.
29 God gave to Solomon wisdom, very great discernment, and understanding as extensive as the sand on the seashore.
Und Gott gab Salomo Weisheit und sehr viel Verstand und Weite des Herzens, wie der Sand, der am Meeresufer liegt.
30 Solomon's wisdom was greater than that of all the Eastern wise men, greater than all of Egypt's wisdom.
Und die Weisheit Salomos war größer als die Weisheit aller Söhne des Morgenlandes und als alle Weisheit der Ägypter.
31 He was wiser than anyone, wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, wiser than Heman, Calcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol. His reputation spread through the nations around.
Ja, er war weiser als alle Menschen, auch weiser als Etan, der Esrachiter, und Heman und Kalkol und Dardan, die Söhne Machols; und er ward berühmt unter allen Nationen ringsum.
32 Solomon composed three thousand proverbs and one thousand and five songs.
Und er redete dreitausend Sprüche; und seiner Lieder waren tausendundfünf.
33 He was able to discuss knowledge of trees, from the cedar in Lebanon to the hyssop that grows in the wall. He taught about animals, birds, reptiles, and fish.
Er redete auch von den Bäumen, von der Zeder auf dem Libanon bis zum Ysop, der aus der Mauer wächst. Auch redete er vom Vieh, von den Vögeln, von den Reptilien und von den Fischen.
34 People from all nations came to hear Solomon's wisdom. They were sent by all the kings of the earth, who had heard about his wisdom.
Und es kamen aus allen Völkern, Salomos Weisheit zu hören, von allen Königen auf Erden, die von seiner Weisheit gehört hatten.
