1 Kings 19
1 Ahab told Jezebel everything that Elijah had done and that he had killed all the prophets of Baal with the sword.
১পাছত আহাবে, এলিয়াই কৰা সেই সকলো কাৰ্যৰ কথা আৰু বিশেষকৈ তৰোৱালৰ দ্বাৰাই আটাই বালৰ ভাববাদীসকলক বধ কৰা কথা ঈজেবলৰ আগত ক’লে।
2 Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods do as much to me and more if by tomorrow I haven't made your life like the lives of those you killed!”
২তেতিয়া ঈজেবলে এলিয়াৰ ওচৰলৈ দূত পঠিয়াই এই কথা কো’ৱালে বোলে, “কাইলৈ এনে সময়ত যদি মই তোমাৰ প্ৰাণ তেওঁলোকৰ এজনৰ প্ৰাণৰ দৰে নকৰোঁ, তেন্তে দেৱতাবোৰে মোক অমুক আৰু তাতকৈয়ো অধিক দণ্ড দিয়ক।”
3 Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he arrived in Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there
৩সেই বিষয়ে শুনি এলিয়াই উঠি নিজ প্ৰাণৰক্ষাৰ বাবে পলাই গ’ল আৰু যিহূদাৰ অধীনত থকা বেৰ-চেবালৈ আহি নিজৰ দাসক তাতেই এৰিলে।
4 and traveled another day's journey into the desert. He sat down under a broom tree and asked to die. “I've had enough now, Lord,” he said. “Take my life! I'm no better than my forefathers.”
৪কিন্তু তেওঁ নিজে এদিনৰ বাট মৰুপ্রান্তৰ মাজেদি গৈ এজোপা ৰোতম গছৰ তলত বহিল। তেওঁ নিজৰ বাবে মৃত্যু প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰিলে আৰু ক’লে, “এয়ে যথেষ্ট, হে যিহোৱা, মোৰ প্ৰাণ লোৱা, কিয়নো মই নিজ পূৰ্বপুৰুষসকলতকৈ উত্তম নহওঁ।”
5 He lay down and fell asleep under the broom tree. All of a sudden an angel touched him and said, “Get up, and eat.”
৫তাৰ পাছত তেওঁ এজোপা ৰোতম গছৰ তলত বাগৰ দি টোপনি গ’ল। হঠাৎ এজন দূতে তেওঁক চুই ক’লে, “উঠা আৰু ভোজন কৰা।”
6 He looked around, and there beside his head was some bread baking over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and lay down again.
৬তেতিয়া এলিয়াই নিজ মুৰ-শিতানত, তপত শিলত সিজোৱা এটা পিঠা আৰু এটেকেলি পানী দেখিলে। তেতিয়া তেওঁ ভোজন কৰি পুনৰায় বাগৰ দিলে।
7 The angel of the Lord returned a second time and touched him, and said, “Get up and eat, otherwise the journey will be too much for you.”
৭পাছত যিহোৱাৰ দূতে দ্বিতীয়বাৰ তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ আহি তেওঁক ষ্পৰ্শ কৰি ক’লে, “উঠা আৰু ভোজন কৰা, কিয়নো এই যাত্ৰাৰ বাবে তোমাক অধিক শক্তিৰ প্রয়োজন।”
8 So he got up and ate and drank, and with the strength the food gave him he was able to walk forty days and forty nights to Mount Horeb, the mountain of God.
৮তেতিয়া তেওঁ উঠি ভোজন-পান কৰিলে আৰু সেই আহাৰৰ শক্তিৰেই চল্লিশ দিন চল্লিশ ৰাতি যাত্ৰা কৰি যিহোৱাৰ পৰ্ব্বত হোৰেব পালে।
9 There he entered a cave and spent the night. The Lord spoke to Elijah, and asked him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
৯তেওঁ এটা গুহালৈ গৈ তাতে ৰাতিটো থাকিল। তেতিয়া তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য আহিল আৰু তেওঁক ক’লে, “হে এলিয়া, তুমি ইয়াত কি কৰিছা?”
10 “I have worked passionately for the Lord God Almighty,” he replied. “But the Israelites have abandoned your agreement, torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I am the only one who's left, and they are trying to kill me as well.”
১০তেতিয়া এলিয়াই উত্তৰ দিলে, “মই বাহিনীসকলৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ পক্ষে অতিশয় উদ্যোগী, কিয়নো ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সন্তান সকলে আপোনৰ নিয়মটি ত্যাগ কৰিলে, আপোনাৰ যজ্ঞ-বেদীবোৰ ভাঙি পেলালে, ভাববাদীসকলক তৰোৱালৰ দ্বাৰাই বধ কৰিলে। কেৱল মইহে অৱশিষ্ট আছোঁ আৰু তেওঁলোকে মোৰো প্ৰাণ ল’বলৈ বিচাৰি আছে।”
11 Then the Lord told him, “Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” Right then the Lord passed by. A tremendously powerful wind ripped into the mountains and smashed rocks before the Lord, but the Lord wasn't in the wind. After the wind there came an earthquake, but the Lord wasn't in the earthquake.
১১যিহোৱাই ক’লে, “বাহিৰলৈ ওলাই যোৱা আৰু পৰ্ব্বতৰ ওপৰলৈ আহি মোৰ সন্মুখত থিয় হোৱা।” তেতিয়া সেই ঠায়েদি যিহোৱাই গমণ কৰিলে আৰু তাত যিহোৱাৰ আগে আগে অতিশয় প্ৰচণ্ড বায়ুৱে পৰ্ব্বতবোৰ আৰু শিলবোৰ ভাঙি পেলালে; কিন্তু সেই বায়ুত যিহোৱা নাছিল। বায়ুৰ পাছত ভুমিকম্প হ’ল, কিন্তু সেই ভুমিকম্পটো যিহোৱা নাছিল।
12 After the earthquake there came a fire, but the Lord wasn't in the fire. And after the fire came a voice speaking in a gentle whisper.
১২ভুমিকম্পৰ পাছত অগ্নি হ’ল, কিন্তু সেই অগ্নিটো যিহোৱা নাছিল। অগ্নিৰ পাছত এটি মৃদু স্বৰ শুনা গ’ল।
13 When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his cloak around his face and went out and stood at the cave entrance. Immediately a voice spoke to him and asked, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
১৩সেই স্বৰ শুনা মাত্রকে এলিয়াই চাদৰেৰে মুখখন ঢাকি বাহিৰলৈ ওলাই আহিল, আৰু গুহাৰ সন্মুখত থিয় হ’ল। তেতিয়া তেওঁলৈ সেই মাত আহিল আৰু ক’লে, “হে এলিয়া, তুমি ইয়াত কি কৰিছা?”
14 “I have worked passionately for the Lord God Almighty,” he replied. “But the Israelites have abandoned your agreement, torn down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I am the only one who's left, and they are trying to kill me as well.”
১৪এলিয়াই উত্তৰ দি ক’লে, “মই বাহিনীসকলৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ পক্ষে অতিশয় উদ্যোগী, কিয়নো ইস্ৰায়েলৰ সন্তান সকলে আপোনাৰ নিয়মটি ত্যাগ কৰিলে, আপোনাৰ যজ্ঞ-বেদীবোৰ ভাঙি পেলালে আৰু আপোনাৰ ভাববাদীসকলকো তৰোৱালৰ দ্বাৰাই বধ কৰিলে। কেৱল মইহে অৱশিষ্ট আছোঁ আৰু তেওঁলোকে মোৰো প্ৰাণ ল’বলৈ বিচাৰি আছে।”
15 The Lord told him, “Go back the way you came to the desert of Damascus. When you get there, go and anoint Hazael king of Aram.
১৫তেতিয়া যিহোৱাই তেওঁক ক’লে, “তুমি নিজ বাটে উলটি দম্মেচকৰ মৰুপ্ৰান্তলৈ যোৱা আৰু যেতিয়া তুমি তাত উপস্থিত হ’বা, তেতিয়া তুমি অৰামৰ ওপৰত ৰজা হ’বলৈ হজায়েলক অভিষেক কৰিবা;
16 Also anoint Jehu, son of Nimshi, king of Israel and Elisha, son of Shaphat, from Abel-meholah, to take over from you as prophet.
১৬আৰু ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ওপৰত ৰজা হ’বলৈ নিমচীৰ পুত্ৰ যেহূক অভিষেক কৰিবা, আৰু তোমাৰ পদত ভাববাদী হ’বলৈ আবেল-মহোলাত থকা চাফটৰ পুত্ৰ ইলীচাক অভিষেক কৰিবা।
17 Jehu will execute anyone who escapes the sword of Hazael, and Elisha will execute anyone who escapes the sword of Jehu.
১৭সেই সময়ত এনে ঘটিব যে, যিজনে হজায়েলৰ তৰোৱালৰ পৰা পলাই যেহূৱে সেই জনক বধ কৰিব আৰু যি জন যেহুৰ তৰোৱালৰ পৰা পলাই সেই জনক ইলীচাই বধ কৰিব।
18 I still have seven thousand left in Israel, all those who have not bowed their knees to worship and whose mouths have not kissed him.”
১৮কিন্তু ইস্ৰায়েলৰ মাজত মই নিজৰ বাবে সাত হাজাৰ লোক অৱশিষ্ট ৰাখিম, কিয়নো তেওঁলোকৰ কোনো এজনেই বালৰ সন্মুখত আঠুকঢ়া নাই, আৰু তেওঁলোকৰ কোনো এজনৰ মুখে তেওঁক চুমা খোৱা নাই।”
19 So Elijah left, and went and found Elisha, son of Shaphat. He was plowing with twelve pairs of oxen, and he was with the twelfth pair. Elijah went over to him and threw his cloak around him.
১৯তেতিয়া এলিয়াই সেই ঠাই এৰি গ’ল আৰু চাফটৰ পুত্ৰ ইলীচাক লগ পালে; সেই সময়ত তেওঁ হাল বাই আছিল; বাৰ হাল ষাঁড়-গৰু তেওঁৰ আগত আছিল; আৰু শেষৰ হালৰ লগত তেওঁ নিজে আছিল। তাতে এলিয়াই ইলীচাৰ ওচৰলৈ আগবাঢ়ি গ’ল আৰু নিজৰ গাৰ চাদৰখন তেওঁৰ গাৰ ওপৰত উৰাই দিলে।
20 Elisha left the oxen, ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me go and kiss my father and mother goodbye, and then I will follow you.” “Go on home,” Elijah replied. “I've never done anything for you.”
২০তেতিয়া ইলীচাই ষাঁড়বোৰ এৰি, এলিয়াৰ পাছে পাছে লৰি গ’ল; ইলীচাই তেওঁক ক’লে, “বিনয় কৰোঁ মই মোৰ আই-বোপাইক চুমা খাই আহিবলৈ আপুনি মোক অনুমতি দিয়ক; তাৰ পাছত আপোনাৰ পাছে পাছে চলিম।” তেওঁ ইলীচাক ক’লে, “উলটি যোৱা, কিন্তু মই তোমালৈ যি কৰিলোঁ সেই বিষয়ে ভাবিবা?”
21 Elisha left him, took his pair of oxen, and slaughtered them. Using the wood of the oxen's yoke as fuel, he cooked the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate it. Then he left to follow and serve Elijah.
২১তেতিয়া ইলীচাই তেওঁৰ ওচৰৰ পৰা উলটি গ’ল আৰু সেই হাল ষাঁড়বোৰ বধ কৰি, তাৰ নাঙল আৰু যুঁৱলিৰ কাঠেৰে তাৰ মঙহ তৈয়াৰ কৰিলে আৰু লোকসকলক দিলে; তাতে তেওঁলোকে সেয়ে ভোজন কৰিলে। তাৰ পাছত তেওঁ উঠি এলিয়াৰ অনুগামী হৈ তেওঁৰ পৰিচৰ্যা কৰিলে।
