1 Kings 13
1 The Lord ordered a man of God from Judah to go to Bethel. He arrived just as Jeroboam was standing beside the altar about to present a burnt offering.
Und siehe, ein Mann Gottes kam aus Juda, durch das Wort Jehovas, nach Bethel, und Jerobeam stand bei dem Altar, um zu räuchern.
2 He shouted out the Lord's condemnation of the altar: “Altar, altar, this is what the Lord says. A son will be born to the house of David. His name will be Josiah, and on you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn offerings on you, and human bones will be burned on you.”
Und er rief aus wider den Altar durch das Wort Jehovas und sprach: Altar, Altar! so spricht Jehova: Siehe, ein Sohn wird dem Hause Davids geboren werden, Josia sein Name; und er wird auf dir die Priester der Höhen schlachten, die auf dir räuchern, und man wird Menschengebeine auf dir verbrennen!
3 The same day the man of God gave a sign, saying, “This is the sign to prove that the Lord has spoken. Look! The altar will be split apart, and the ashes on it will spill out.”
Und er gab an selbigem Tage ein Zeichen und sprach: Dies ist das Zeichen, von dem Jehova geredet hat: Siehe, der Altar wird reißen und die Fettasche, die darauf ist, verschüttet werden.
4 When King Jeroboam heard the condemnation the man of God had shouted out against the altar in Bethel, he pointed his hand at him and said, “Arrest him!” But the hand the king had pointed at him had become paralyzed and he couldn't draw it back.
Und es geschah, als der König das Wort des Mannes Gottes hörte, das er wider den Altar zu Bethel ausgerufen hatte, da streckte Jerobeam seine Hand aus von dem Altar herab und sprach: Greifet ihn! Da verdorrte seine Hand, die er wider ihn ausgestreckt hatte, und er konnte sie nicht wieder an sich ziehen.
5 The altar split apart, and the ashes spilled out from it, fulfilling the sign that the man of God had given from the Lord.
Und der Altar riß, und die Fettasche wurde vom Altar verschüttet, nach dem Zeichen, welches der Mann Gottes durch das Wort Jehovas gegeben hatte.
6 Then the king said to the man of God, “Please plead with the Lord your God—pray for me that I may have my hand back!” The man of God pleaded with the Lord, and the king was given back the use of his hand as it was before.
Da antwortete der König und sprach zu dem Manne Gottes: Flehe doch Jehova, deinen Gott, an und bete für mich, daß meine Hand mir wiedergegeben werde. [Eig. wieder zu mir komme; so auch nachher] Und der Mann Gottes flehte Jehova an, und die Hand des Königs wurde ihm wiedergegeben und war wie zuvor.
7 Then the king said to the man of God, “Come to my home and have a meal so I can give you a present.”
Und der König redete zu dem Manne Gottes: Komm mit mir ins Haus und stärke dich, und ich will dir ein Geschenk geben.
8 But the man of God told the king, “Even if you gave me half of everything you own, I still wouldn't go with you. In fact I refuse to eat or drink anything in this place.
Aber der Mann Gottes sprach zu dem König: Wenn du mir die Hälfte deines Hauses gäbest, so würde ich nicht mit dir hingehen; und ich werde kein Brot essen und kein Wasser trinken an diesem Orte.
9 The Lord ordered me not to eat or drink anything, and not to return by the way I came.”
Denn also ist mir geboten worden durch das Wort Jehovas und gesagt: Du sollst kein Brot essen und kein Wasser trinken, und du sollst nicht auf dem Wege zurückkehren, den du gegangen bist.
10 So he went a different way—he did not return the way he had come to Bethel.
Und er ging auf einem anderen Wege und kehrte nicht auf dem Wege zurück, auf welchem er nach Bethel gekommen war.
11 It so happened that an old prophet lived in Bethel. His sons came and told him everything the man of God had done that day in Bethel. They also told their father what the man had said to the king.
Ein alter Prophet aber wohnte zu Bethel; und einer seiner Söhne [W. sein Sohn] kam und erzählte ihm alles, was der Mann Gottes an dem Tage zu Bethel getan hatte; die Worte, die er zum König geredet hatte, die erzählten sie auch ihrem Vater.
12 “Which way did he go?” their father asked them. So his sons showed him the way taken by the man of God from Judah.
Und ihr Vater sprach zu ihnen: Welchen Weg ist er gegangen? Und seine Söhne hatten den Weg gesehen, [Nach and. Lesart: zeigten ihm den Weg] den der Mann Gottes gegangen, der aus Juda gekommen war.
13 “Saddle up a donkey for me,” he told his sons. They saddled up a donkey and he got on.
Da sprach er zu seinen Söhnen: Sattelt mir den Esel! Und sie sattelten ihm den Esel, und er ritt darauf.
14 He rode after the man of God and found him sitting under an oak tree. “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” he asked him. “Yes I am,” the man replied.
Und er ritt dem Manne Gottes nach und fand ihn unter einer [O. der] Terebinthe sitzen; und er sprach zu ihm: Bist du der Mann Gottes, der von Juda gekommen ist? Und er sprach: Ich bins.
15 “Come home with me and have something to eat,” he told him.
Da sprach er zu ihm: Komm mit mir nach Hause und iß Brot.
16 “I can't turn around and go with you, and I won't eat or drink with you in this place,” the man of God replied.
Er aber sprach: Ich kann nicht mit dir umkehren und mit dir hineingehen, und ich werde kein Brot essen und kein Wasser mit dir trinken an diesem Orte.
17 “The Lord ordered me, saying ‘You must not eat or drink anything there, or return by the way you came.’”
Denn ein Wort ist zu mir geschehen durch das Wort Jehovas: Du sollst kein Brot essen und kein Wasser daselbst trinken; du sollst nicht auf dem Wege zurückkehren, auf welchem du gegangen bist.
18 But the old prophet told him, “I am also a prophet, just like you. An angel told me God said, ‘Take him home with you so that he can have something to eat and drink’” But he was lying to him.
Und er sprach zu ihm: Auch ich bin ein Prophet, wie du; und ein Engel hat zu mir geredet durch das Wort Jehovas und gesagt: Bringe ihn mit dir in dein Haus zurück, daß er Brot esse und Wasser trinke. Er belog ihn.
19 So the man of God went back with him, and ate and drank in his house.
Da kehrte er mit ihm zurück, und aß Brot in seinem Hause und trank Wasser.
20 As they were sitting at the table, a message from the Lord came to the prophet who had brought him back.
Und es geschah, während sie zu Tische saßen, da geschah das Wort Jehovas zu dem Propheten, der ihn zurückgebracht hatte.
21 He called out to the man of God who had come from Judah, “This is what the Lord says: Because you have disobeyed the word of the Lord and have not followed the orders that the Lord your God gave you,
Und er rief dem Manne Gottes zu, der aus Juda gekommen war, und sprach: So spricht Jehova: Darum daß du gegen den Befehl Jehovas widerspenstig gewesen bist und nicht beobachtet hast das Gebot, das Jehova, dein Gott, dir geboten hat,
22 instead you went back and ate and drank in the place where he told you not to, your body will not be buried in the tomb of your fathers.”
und bist umgekehrt und hast Brot gegessen und Wasser getrunken an dem Orte, von welchem er zu dir geredet hat: Iß kein Brot und trinke kein Wasser! so soll dein Leichnam nicht in das Grab deiner Väter kommen.
23 After the man of God had finished eating and drinking, the prophet who had brought him back saddled his own donkey for him.
Und es geschah, nachdem er Brot gegessen und nachdem er getrunken hatte, da sattelte er ihm, dem Propheten, den er zurückgebracht hatte, den Esel.
24 But as he went on his way a lion came across him on the road and killed him. His body was left lying in the road, with both the donkey and the lion standing beside it.
Und er zog fort; und es fand ihn ein Löwe auf dem Wege und tötete ihn. Und sein Leichnam lag hingestreckt auf dem Wege, und der Esel stand daneben, und der Löwe stand neben dem Leichnam.
25 Some passers-by saw the body lying in the road with the lion standing beside it, so they went and let people know about it in the town where the old prophet lived.
Und siehe, da gingen Leute vorüber und sahen den Leichnam hingestreckt auf dem Wege, und den Löwen neben dem Leichnam stehen; und sie kamen und sagten es in der Stadt, in welcher der alte Prophet wohnte.
26 When the old prophet who had led the other astray heard what had happened, he said, “It's the man of God who disobeyed the Lord's orders. That's why the Lord put him in the path of the lion, and it has mauled him and killed him, just as the Lord told him would happen.”
Als nun der Prophet, der ihn von dem Wege zurückgeführt hatte, es hörte, sprach er: Das ist der Mann Gottes, der gegen den Befehl Jehovas widerspenstig gewesen ist; und so hat Jehova ihn dem Löwen preisgegeben: der hat ihn zerrissen und getötet, nach dem Worte Jehovas, das er zu ihm geredet hat.
27 The prophet told his sons, “Saddle up a donkey for me.” So they saddled a donkey,
Und er redete zu seinen Söhnen und sprach: Sattelt mir den Esel! Und sie sattelten ihn.
28 and he went and found the body. It was still lying in the road, with the donkey and the lion standing beside it. The lion had not eaten the body or attacked the donkey.
Und er ritt hin und fand seinen Leichnam hingestreckt auf dem Wege, und den Esel und den Löwen neben dem Leichnam stehen; der Löwe hatte den Leichnam nicht gefressen und den Esel nicht zerrissen.
29 The prophet picked up the body of the man of God, placed it on the donkey, and brought it back to his own town to mourn over him and bury him.
Und der Prophet hob den Leichnam des Mannes Gottes auf und legte ihn auf den Esel und brachte ihn zurück. Und er kam in die Stadt des alten Propheten, um ihn zu beklagen und zu begraben.
30 He laid the body in his own tomb, and they mourned over him, crying, “My poor brother!”
Und er legte seinen Leichnam in sein eigenes Grab; und man klagte über ihn: Ach, mein Bruder!
31 After he'd buried him, he told his sons, “When I die, bury me in the grave where the man of God is buried. Lay my bones beside his bones.
Und es geschah, nachdem er ihn begraben hatte, da sprach er zu seinen Söhnen und sagte: Wenn ich gestorben bin, so begrabet mich in dem Grabe, in welchem der Mann Gottes begraben ist; leget meine Gebeine neben seine Gebeine.
32 For the message from the Lord that he gave in condemnation against the altar in Bethel, and against all the shrines on the high places in the towns of Samaria, will definitely happen.”
Denn das Wort wird gewißlich geschehen, welches er durch das Wort Jehovas ausgerufen hat wider den Altar, der zu Bethel ist, und wider alle Höhenhäuser, die in den Städten Samarias sind.
33 But even after all this, Jeroboam did not change his evil ways. He went on choosing priests from all kinds of people. He appointed anyone who wanted to be a priest of the high places.
Nach dieser Begebenheit kehrte Jerobeam nicht um von seinem bösen Wege; und er machte wiederum aus sämtlichem Volke Priester der Höhen: wer Lust hatte, den weihte er, daß er ein Priester der Höhen würde.
34 This was because of this sin that the house of Jeroboam was wiped out, completely destroyed from the face of the earth.
Und diese Sache wurde dem Hause Jerobeams zur Sünde, und zur Vertilgung und zur Vernichtung vom Erdboden hinweg.
