1 Chronicles 5
1 The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel. (Though he was the firstborn, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel because he had defiled his father's bed. That is why Reuben is not listed in the genealogy according to birthright,

2 and even though Judah became the strongest of his brothers and a ruler came from him, the birthright belonged to Joseph.)

3 The sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

4 The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
Los hijos de Joel: Semaías su hijo, Gog su hijo, Simei su hijo,
5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,
Micaia su hijo, Reaía su hijo, Baal su hijo,
6 and Beerah his son, the one whom Tiglath-Pileser the king of Assyria took into exile. He (Beerah) was a leader of the Reubenites.
Su hijo Beera, a quien Tiglat-pileser, rey de Asiria, se llevó como prisionero: era el jefe de los rubenitas.
7 Beerah's relatives are, listed in their genealogical records by family: Jeiel (chief), Zechariah,

8 and Bela of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel. They lived from Aroer to Nebo and Baal Meon.
Y Bela, el hijo de Azaz, el hijo de Sema, el hijo de Joel, que vivía en Aroer, hasta Nebo y Baal-meon;
9 On the eastern side they expanded into the land right up to the edge of the desert that continues to the Euphrates River, because their flocks had grown so big in Gilead.
Y al este, sus límites llegaron hasta el punto de partida del desierto, que terminaban en el río Eufrates, debido a que su ganado había aumentado en número en la tierra de Galaad.
10 In the time of Saul they went to war against the Hagrites, defeating them. They took over the places where the Hagrites had lived in all the regions east of Gilead.
Y en los días de Saúl hicieron guerra contra los agarenos, y los vencieron; y levantaron sus tiendas por toda la tierra al este de Galaad.
11 Next to them the descendants of Gad lived in Basha, all the way to Salecah.
Y los hijos de Gad vivían frente a ellos, en la tierra de Basán, hasta Salca.
12 Joel (chief), Shapham (second), and Janai and Shaphat, in Bashan.
Joel el jefe, y Safan el segundo, y Jaanai y Safat en Basán;
13 Their relatives, according to family, were: Michael, Meshullam, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia, and Eber—a total of seven.
Y sus hermanos, los hombres de su familia: Micael, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia y Eber, siete de ellos.
14 These were the sons of Abihail, son of Huri, son of Jaroah, son of Gilead, son of Michael, son of Jeshishai, son of Jahdo, son of Buz.
Estos fueron los hijos de Abihail, el hijo de Huri, el hijo de Jaroa, el hijo de Galaad, el hijo de Micael, el hijo de Jesisai, el hijo de Jahdo, el hijo de Buz;
15 Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, was their family chief.
Ahí, el hijo de Abdiel, el hijo de Guni, cabeza de familia.
16 They lived in Gilead, in Bashan and its towns, and throughout the pasturelands of Sharon all the way to their borders.
Y vivían en Galaad, en Basán, en sus pueblos pequeños y en todas las praderas del Sarón hasta sus límites.
17 They were all were recorded in the genealogy during the time of Jotham king of Judah and Jeroboam king of Israel.
Todos estos fueron enumerados bajo los nombres de sus familias, en el tiempo de Jotam, rey de Judá, y en el tiempo de Jeroboam, rey de Israel.
18 The tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh had 44,760 battle-ready strong warriors capable of using shields and swords and bows.
Había cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta de los hijos de Rubén y de los gaditas y de la media tribu de Manasés, todos hombres fuertes, expertos en el uso del escudo, la espada y el arco, y en el arte de la guerra, todos capaces de tomar las armas.
19 They went to war against the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish, and Nodab.
Y fueron a la guerra contra los agarenos, con Jetur, Nafis y Nodab.
20 They received help in fighting these enemies because they called out to God during the battles. In this way they were able to defeat the Hagrites and all who were with them. God answered their prayers because they trusted in him.
Y fueron ayudados contra ellos, y los Agarenos, y los que estaban con ellos, fueron entregados en su poder. Porque suplicaron a Dios en la lucha, y él les escuchó, porque confiaron en él.
21 They captured their enemies' livestock—fifty thousand camels, two hundred fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand donkeys. They also captured one hundred thousand people,
Y se llevaron sus ganados: cincuenta mil camellos, doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas, dos mil asnos y cien mil hombres.
22 and many others were killed because the battle belonged to God. They took over the land and lived there until the exile.
Y un gran número fue a su muerte, porque la guerra era de Dios. Y siguieron viviendo en su lugar hasta que fueron llevados como prisioneros.
23 The half-tribe of Manasseh had grown very large. They lived in the land from Bashan to Baal Hermon, (otherwise known as Senir and Mount Hermon).
Y los hombres de la media tribu de Manasés vivían en la tierra: y su número aumentó hasta que toda la tierra de Basán a Baal-hermón y Senir y la montaña Hermon fueron suyas.
24 These were the family heads: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were strong warriors, famous men, heads of their families.
Y estos eran los jefes de sus familias: Efer e Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavias, Jahdiel, hombres de guerra, de gran nombre, y jefes de familia.
25 But they were unfaithful to the God of their forefathers. They prostituted themselves by following the gods of the peoples of the land, those that God had destroyed before them.
E hicieron lo malo contra el Dios de sus padres, adorando a los dioses de la gente de la tierra, a quienes Dios había destruido ante ellos.
26 So the God of Israel encouraged of Pul, king of Assyria, (otherwise known as Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria), to invade the land. He took into exile the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh. He brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan, where they remain to this very day.
Y el Dios de Israel puso un impulso en el corazón de Pul, rey de Asiria, y de Tiglat-pileser, rey de Asiria, que se los llevó prisioneros, todos los rubenitas y gaditas y los medios tribu de Manasés, a Halah, Habor, Hara y al río Gozan, hasta el día de hoy.
