1 Chronicles 24
1 The sons of Aaron were placed in divisions as follows. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
Och Arons söner hade följande avdelningar: Arons söner voro Nadab och Abihu, Eleasar och Itamar.
2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father did, and they had no sons. Only Eleazar and Ithamar carried on as priests.
Men Nadab och Abihu dogo före sin fader; och de hade inga söner. Så blevo allenast Eleasar och Itamar präster.
3 With the help of Zadok, a descendant of Eleazar, and Ithamar, a descendant Ahimelech, David placed them in divisions according to their appointed duties.
Och David jämte Sadok, av Eleasars söner, och Ahimelek, av Itamars söner, indelade dem och bestämde den ordning i vilken de skulle göra tjänst.
4 Because Eleazar's descendants had more leaders than those of Ithamar, they were divided like this: sixteen family leaders from the descendants of Eleazar, and eight from the descendants of Ithamar.
Då nu Eleasars söner befunnos hava flera huvudmän än Itamars söner, indelade man dem så, att Eleasars söner fingo sexton huvudmän för sina familjer och Itamars söner åtta huvudmän för sina familjer.
5 They were divided by casting lots, without preference, for there were officers of the sanctuary and officers of God from both the sons of Eleazar and the sons of Ithamar.
Man indelade dem genom lottkastning, de förra såväl som de senare, ty helgedomens furstar och Guds furstar togos både av Eleasars söner och av Itamars söner.
6 Shemaiah son of Nethanel, a Levite, was the secretary. He wrote down the names and assignments in the presence of the king, the officials, Zadok the priest, Ahimelech son of Abiathar, and the family leaders of the priests and Levites. One family from Eleazar and one from Ithamar were chosen in turn.

7 The first lot fell to Jehoiarib. The second to Jedaiah.

8 The third to Harim. The fourth to Seorim.

9 The fifth to Malkijah. The sixth to Mijamin.

10 The seventh to Hakkoz. The eighth to Abijah.

11 The ninth to Jeshua. The tenth to Shecaniah.

12 The eleventh to Eliashib. The twelfth to Jakim.

13 The thirteenth to Huppah. The fourteenth to Jeshebeab.

14 The fifteenth to Bilgah. The sixteenth to Immer.

15 The seventeenth to Hezir. The eighteenth to Happizzez.

16 The nineteenth to Pethahiah. The twentieth to Jehezkel.

17 The twenty-first to Jakin. The twenty-second to Gamul.

18 The twenty-third to Delaiah. The twenty-fourth to Maaziah.

19 This was the order in which each group were to serve when they came into the house of the Lord, following the procedure defined for them by their forefather Aaron, as instructed by the Lord, the God of Israel.
Detta blev den ordning i vilken de skulle göra tjänst, när de gingo in i HERRENS hus, såsom det var föreskrivet för dem genom deras fader Aron, i enlighet med vad HERREN, Israels Gud, hade bjudit honom.
20 These were the rest of the sons of Levi: from the sons of Amram: Shubael; from the sons of Shubael: Jehdeiah.

24 The son of Uzziel: Micah; from the sons of Micah: Shamir.
Ussiels barn voro Mika; till Mikas barn hörde Samur.
25 The brother of Micah: Isshiah; from the sons of Isshiah: Zechariah.
Mikas broder var Jissia; till Jissias barn hörde Sakarja.
26 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The son of Jaaziah: Beno.
Meraris barn voro Maheli och Musi, Jaasia-Benos söner.
27 The sons of Merari: from Jaaziah: Beno, Shoham, Zaccur and Ibri.
Meraris barn voro dessa av Jaasia-Beno, och vidare Soham, Sackur och Ibri.
28 From Mahli: Eleazar, who did not have any sons.
Mahelis son var Eleasar, men denne hade inga söner.
29 From Kish: the son of Kish, Jerahmeel.
Till Kis, det är Kis' barn, hörde Jerameel.
30 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites, according to their families.
Men Musis barn voro Maheli, Eder och Jerimot. Dessa voro leviternas barn, efter deras familjer.
31 They also cast lots in the same way their relatives the descendants of Aaron did. They did this in the presence of King David, and of Zadok, Ahimelech, and the family leaders of the priests and of the Levites, the family leaders and their youngest brothers alike.
