< Matthew 25 >

1 “Then the kingdom of the heavens will be like ten virgins who, taking their lamps, went out to meet the bridegroom.
“He wode salo kawotethay bantta kuraaziya oykkidi, machcho ehanaw bida addiya mokkanaw keyida tammu geela7ota daanees.
2 Now five of them were prudent and five foolish.
Enttafe ichchashati eeya, qassi ichchashati cincca.
3 Those who were foolish, taking their lamps, did not take [extra] oil with them,
Eeyati kuraaze oykkidosona, shin hara lambba oykkibookkona.
4 but the prudent ones took oil in their vessels along with their lamps.
Shin cinccati bantta kuraaziyanne hara guzha lambba oykkidosona.
5 Now while the bridegroom delayed they all dozed and slept,
Machchiw ekkeyssi gam77in, he geela7oti banttana dhiskkoy oykkin dhiskkidosona.
6 but at midnight there was a shout: ‘Attention! The bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him.’
“Giddi bilahe gidiya wode, ‘Hekko, machchiw eheyssi gakkis, iya mokkanaw keyite’ yaagiya gita cabboy si7ettis.
7 Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps.
“He wode he geela7oti ubbay barkkidi, bantta kuraaziya giigisidosona.
8 And the foolish ones said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’
Eeyati cinccatakko, ‘Nu kuraazey to7ana haniya gisho, hintte lambbaafe nuus immerkketi’ yaagidosona.
9 But the prudent ones answered saying, ‘No, in case there not be enough for you and us; instead, go to those who sell and buy for yourselves.’
“Shin cinccati enttako zaaridi, ‘Akkay, nuusinne hinttes gidiya lambbi baawa. Hessa gisho, hinttew bidi shammidi ekkite’ yaagidosona.
10 But while they went to buy, the bridegroom arrived, and the ones who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast—and the door was shut!
Eeya geela7oti lambba shammanaw bin, machchiw ekkeyssi puttu gis. Giigeti uttida ichchashu geela7oti iyara issife yaagano keethaa gelidosona; kareykka gorddetti aggis.
11 Later the other virgins arrived too saying, ‘Lord, lord, open for us!’
“Guyeppe hankko geela7oti yidi, ‘Godaw, godaw, nuus dooyarkii’ yaagidosona.
12 But in answer he said, ‘Assuredly I say to you, I do not know you.’
“Shin I enttako zaaridi, ‘Taani hinttew tuma odays; ta hinttena erikke!’
13 Therefore, keep alert, because you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of the Man is coming.
“Hiza, Asa Na7ay yaana gallasaa woykko saatiya hintte eronna gisho barkkidi naagite.
14 “Because the kingdom is also like a man about to go on a long journey, who called his own servants and entrusted his possessions to them.
“Xoossaa kawotethay ba oosanchchota xeegidi baw de7iyabaa enttaw sheedhdhidi oge baanaw keyida uraa daanees.
15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on the journey.
Enttaw huu7en huu7en entta wolqqaa mela issuwas ichchashu karxiite bira, issuwas nam77u karxiite bira qassi issuwas issi karxiite bira immidi ba ogiya bis.
16 So the one who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.
Ichchashu karxiite bira ekkida aylley sohuwara bidi zal77idi, hara ichchashu karxiite bira wodhisis.
17 So also the one who received the two gained another two as well.
Hessadakka, qassi nam77u karxiite bira ekkida aylley hara nam77u karxiite bira wodhisis.
18 But he who received the one went off and dug in the ground and hid his lord's silver.
Shin issi karxiite bira ekkidayssi bidi, olla bookkidi, ba godaa miishiya moogis.
19 “Then, after a long time, the lord of those servants comes and settles accounts with them.
“Daro wodeppe guye he aylleta goday yidi, ba miishiya enttara salla77is.
20 “So the one who had received the five talents approached and brought five more talents saying, ‘Lord, you entrusted five talents to me; see, I gained five more talents besides them!’
Ichchashu karxiite bira ekkida aylley yidi, hara ichchashu karxiite bira ehidi, ‘Ta godaw, neeni taw ichchashu karxiite bira immadasa. Shin taani hara ichchashu karxiite bira wodhisas’ yaagis.
21 His lord said to him: ‘Super, you good and faithful servant! You were faithful over a few things, I will put you in charge of many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
Iya goday, ‘Zambboy! Neeni lo77onne ammanthiya aylle; neeni guuthaban ammanettadasa. Taani nena darobaa bolla shuumana; haa gelada ne godaara ufaytta’ yaagis.
22 So the one who had received the two talents also approached and said, ‘Lord, you entrusted two talents to me; see, I gained two more talents besides them!’
“Qassi nam77u karxiite bira ekkidayssi yidi, ‘Ta godaw, neeni taw nam77u karxiite bira immadasa. Shin taani hara nam77u karxiite bira wodhisas’ yaagis.
23 His lord said to him: ‘Super, you good and faithful servant!
24 “Then he who had received the one talent also approached and said: ‘Lord, I knew that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you did not scatter.
“Qassi issi karxiite bira ekkidayssi yidi, ‘Ta godaw, neeni zeronna bessafe cakkeyssanne dharcconna bessafe maxiya iita asi gideyssa taani erays.
25 And being afraid I went off and hid your talent in the ground; here, take what is yours.’
Hessa gisho, yayyada ne biraa biittan moogas. Ne miishey hayssish’ yaagis.
26 So in answer his lord said to him: ‘You wicked and lazy servant! You knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I did not scatter.
“Iya goday zaaridi, ‘Ha iita azalla aylliyaw, taani zeronna bessafe cakkeyssanne dharcconna bessafe maxiya asi gideyssa eradasa.
27 Therefore you were obligated to deposit my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received what is mine with interest.
Yaatin, neeni ta miishiya bankken wothidabaa gidiyakko, taani simmiya wode ta miishiya wodhera ekkanayssa diggadasa.
28 Therefore, take the talent away from him and give it to the one having the ten talents.
Hessa gisho, miishiya iyappe ekkidi, tammu karxiite biri de7eyssas immite.
29 For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but the one who does not have, even what he thinks that he has will be taken away from him.
Ays giikko, de7iya ubbaas guzhettananne darana. Shin baynnayssafe hari attoshin, he iyaw de7iya guuthiyaka ekettana.
30 And throw out the useless servant, into the darkness farthest out!’ There, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Ha maaddonna aylliya kare dhumaa kessi yeggite. Yan iyaw yeehonne achche garccethi gidana’ yaagis.
31 “When the Son of the Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on His throne of glory.
“Asa Na7ay, kiitanchcho ubbatara, ba bonchchuwara yaa wode I ba bonchcho kawota araata bolla uttana.
32 And all the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
Biittan de7iya asi ubbay iya sinthe shiiqana. Henthanchchoy dorssata deeshatappe shaakkeyssada I he asaa nam77an shaakkana.
33 And the sheep He will place on His right, but the goats on His left.
Qassi dorssata ushachcha baggara deeshata haddirssa baggara essana.
34 Then the King will say to those on His right: ‘Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom that was prepared for you at the foundation of the world.
“Hessafe guye, kawoy ushachcha baggara de7eyssatakko hayssada yaagana: ‘Ta Aaway anjjidayssato, haa yidi sa7ay medhettiya wode hinttew giigida kawotethaa laattite.
35 For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in;
Ays giikko, taani koshattin muzideta, saamottin ushshideta, erettona imatha asi gidada bin mokkideta,
36 I was naked and you clothed me; I was sick and you visited me; I was in prison and you came to me.’
kallottin mayzideta, harggettin harggisideta, qashettin tana oychchideta’ yaagana.
37 Then the righteous will answer Him saying: ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
“Hessafe guye, xilloti zaaridi, ‘Godaw, neeni koshattin awude be7idi muzidoo? Woykko neeni saamottin awude be7idi ushshidoo?
38 When did we see you a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you?
Neeni imathe gidada yin awude be7idi mokkidoo? Woykko neeni kallottin awude mayzidoo?
39 Or when did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?’
Neeni harggin woykko qashettin neekko bidi nena awude oychchidoo?’ yaagana.
40 And in answer the King will say to them, ‘Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
Kawoy zaaridi, ‘Taani hinttew tuma odays; hintte tana kaalliya ha ubbaafe guuxeyssas oothidayssa taw oothideta’ yaagana.
41 “Then He will also say to those on His left: ‘Go away from me, you accursed ones, into the eternal fire that was prepared for the devil and his angels. (aiōnios g166)
“He wode haddirssa baggara de7eyssatakko, ‘Ha qanggettidayssato, ta matappe haakkite. Xalahesinne iya kiitanchchotas giigida merinaa taman biite. (aiōnios g166)
42 For I was hungry and you did not give me food; I was thirsty and you did not give me drink;
Ays giikko, koshattin tana muzibeekketa; saamottin ushshibeekketa.
43 I was a stranger and you did not take me in; I was naked and you did not clothe me; I was sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’
Taani imathe gidada bin tana mokkibeekketa, kallottin mayzibeekketa, harggininne qashettin tana oychchibeekketa’ yaagana.
44 Then they also will answer saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not minister to you?’
“He wode entti, ‘Godaw, neeni koshattin woykko saamottin woykko imathe gidada bin woykko kallottin woykko harggin woykko qashettin be7idi nena awude maaddonna ixxido?’ yaagidi zaarana.
45 Then He will answer them saying, ‘Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, neither did you do it to me.’
“He wode kawoy zaaridi enttako, ‘Taani hinttew tuma odays; hintte tana kaalliya ha ubbaafe guuxeyssa maaddonna ixxidayssi, tana maaddonna ixxidayssa’ yaagana.
46 And they will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (aiōnios g166)
Hessa gisho, he asati merinaa pirddas qassi xilloti merinaa de7uwas baana” yaagis. (aiōnios g166)
