Mark 8
1 In those days, the multitude being very large and not having anything to eat, Jesus called His disciples and said to them:
當那些日子，又有一大群人，沒有什麼吃的了。耶穌叫過門徒來，給他們說：
2 “I have compassion on the multitude, because they have stayed with me three days now and have nothing to eat.
「我很憐憫這批群眾，因為他們同我在一起已經三天，也沒有什麼可吃的了。
3 If I send them away hungry to their homes, they will give out on the way, because some of them have come a long distance.”
我若遣散他們空著肚子回家，他們必要在路上暈倒；況他們且中還有些是從遠處來的。」
4 His disciples answered Him, “From what source could anyone satisfy these people with bread here in a wilderness?”
門徒回答說：「在這荒野裏，人從那裏能得餅，使這些人吃飽呢﹖」
5 He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.”
耶穌問他們說：「你們有多少餅﹖」他們說：「七個。」
6 So He told the crowd to sit down on the ground; then taking the seven loaves and giving thanks, He broke them and gave them to His disciples to set before the crowd, and they did.
耶穌就吩咐群眾坐在地上，拿起那七個餅來，祝謝了，擘開，遞給他的門徒，叫他們分開；他們就給群眾分開。
7 They also had a few small fish; so blessing them He said to distribute them as well.
又有幾條小魚，耶穌祝福後，也吩咐把這些小魚分開。
8 Well they ate and were filled; they even took up seven hampers of broken pieces that were left over.
人都吃飽了，把剩下來的碎塊收集了七籃子。
9 Now those who had eaten were about four thousand; and He sent them away.
人數約有四千；然後耶穌遣散了他們，
10 Then He got right into the boat with His disciples and went to the region of Dalmanutha.
即刻同門徒上船，來到達瑪奴達境內。
11 The Pharisees came out and began to argue with Him, requesting of Him a sign from heaven, by way of testing Him.
法利賽人出來，開始和他辯論，向他要求一個來自天上的徵兆，想試探他。
12 But He sighed deeply in His spirit and said: “Why does this generation seek a sign? I tell you emphatically, no sign shall be given to this generation!”
耶穌從心裏嘆息說：「為什麼這一世代要求徵兆﹖我實在告訴你們，必不給這世代一個徵兆! 」
13 Turning His back on them, He got back into the boat and went off to the other side.
他就離開他們，再上船往對岸去了。
14 (His disciples had forgotten to take bread; they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.)
門徒忘了帶餅，在船上除了個餅外，隨身沒有帶別的食物。
15 And He charged them, saying, “Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”
耶穌囑咐他們說：「你們應當謹慎，提防法利賽人的酵母和黑落德的酵母。」
16 So they started reasoning among themselves, saying, “It's because we have no bread.”
他們彼此議論：他們沒有餅了。
17 Being aware of it Jesus said to them: “Why are you reasoning because you have no bread? Do you still neither perceive nor understand? Do you still have hearts that have been hardened?
耶穌看出來了，就對他們說：「為什麼你們議論沒有餅了﹖你們還不明白，還不瞭解嗎﹖你們的心仍然遲鈍嗎﹖
18 Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear, and do you not remember?
你們有眼看不見，有耳聽不見嗎﹖你們不記得：
19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of pieces did you take up?” They say to Him, “Twelve.”
當我擘開五個餅給五千人的時候，你們收滿了幾筐碎塊﹖」他們回答說：「十二筐。」「
20 “And when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many hampers full of pieces did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.”
還有，七個餅給四千人的時候，你們收滿了幾籃碎塊﹖」他們回答說：「七籃。」
21 So He said to them, “How is it that you still don't understand?”
於是耶穌對他們說：「你們還不瞭解嗎﹖」
22 Then He came to Bethsaida; and they brought a blind man to Him and begged Him to touch him.
他們來到貝特賽達，有人給耶穌送來一個瞎子，求撫摸他。
23 So He took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village; then spitting into his eyes and laying hands on him, He asked him if he saw anything.
耶穌便拉著瞎子的手，領他到村外，在他的眼上吐了唾沫，然後又給他覆手，問他說：「你看見什麼沒有﹖」
24 And looking up he said, “I do see men, only they look like walking trees.”
他舉目一望，說：「我看見人，見他們好像樹木在行走。」
25 Then He put His hands on his eyes again, and made him look up; and he was restored and saw everyone clearly.
然後，耶穌又按手在他的眼上，他定睛一看，就復了原，竟能清清楚楚看見一切。
26 Then He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither go into the village nor tell anyone in the village.”
耶穌打發他回家去說：「連這村莊你也不要進去。」
27 Then Jesus and His disciples set out for the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, “Who are people saying that I am?”
耶穌和他的門徒起身，往斐理伯的凱撒勒雅附近的村莊去；在路上問自己的門徒說：「人們說我是誰﹖」
28 So they answered, “John the Baptist; others Elijah; still others one of the prophets.”
他們回答說：「是洗者若翰；也有些人說是厄里亞；還有些人說是先知中的一位。」
29 He said to them, “And who do you say that I am?” So Peter answered and said to Him, “You are the Christ!”
耶穌又問他們說：「你們說我是誰﹖」伯多祿回答說：「你是默西亞。」
30 Then He charged them that they should tell no one about Him.
耶穌就嚴禁他們，不要向任何人談及他。
31 He then began to teach them that the Son of the Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
耶穌便開始教訓他們：人子必須受許多苦，被長老、司祭長和經師棄絕，且要被殺害；但三天以後必要復活。
32 He said these things quite plainly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.
耶穌明明說了這話。伯多祿便拉他到一邊，開始諫責他。
33 But He turned, looked at His disciples, and rebuked Peter, saying: “Get behind me, Satan! You have in mind men's values, not God's values.”
耶穌卻轉過身來，注視著自己的門徒，責斥伯多祿說：「撒殫，退到我後面去! 因為你所體會的，不是天主的事，而是人的事。」
34 He summoned the crowd, along with His disciples, and said to them: “Whoever wants to follow along behind me must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
他遂召集群眾和門徒來，對他們說：「誰若願意跟隨我，該棄絕自己，背著自己的十字架，跟隨我，
35 Because whoever may resolve to ‘save’ his life will waste it; but whoever may ‘waste’ his life for my sake and the Gospel's, he will save it.
因為誰若願意救自己的性命，必要喪失性命；但誰若為我和福音的緣故，喪失自己的性命，必要救得性命。
36 Well, what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?
人縱然賺得了全世界而賠上自己的靈魂，為他有什麼益處﹖
37 Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
人還拿什麼作為自己靈魂的代價﹖
38 Yes, whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of the Man will also be ashamed of Him whenever He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy Angels.”
誰若在這淫亂和罪惡的世代中，以我和我的話為恥，將來人子在他父的光榮中，同諸聖天使降來時，也要以他為恥。」
