Mark 13
1 Then as He was going out from the temple, one of His disciples said to Him: “Teacher, just look! Such stones, such buildings!”
Al salir del templo, uno de sus discípulos le dijo: “¡Maestro, mira qué piedras y qué edificios!”
2 In answer Jesus said to him: “Do you see these great buildings? Here not a single stone will be left upon another; each one will be thrown down.”
Jesús le dijo: “¿Ves estos grandes edificios? No quedará aquí una piedra sobre otra que no sea derribada”.
3 Then as He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John and Andrew asked Him privately:
Mientras estaba sentado en el Monte de los Olivos, frente al templo, Pedro, Santiago, Juan y Andrés le preguntaron en privado:
4 “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign whenever all these things are about to be fulfilled?”
“Dinos, ¿cuándo serán estas cosas? ¿Cuál es la señal de que todas estas cosas están por cumplirse?”
5 So by way of an answer to them Jesus began by saying: “Take care that no one deceives you.
Respondiendo Jesús, comenzó a decirles: “Tened cuidado de que nadie os extravíe.
6 Because many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many.
Porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre, diciendo: “Yo soy” y engañarán a muchos.
7 But whenever you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not let it distress you; because happen they must, but the end is not yet.
“Cuando oigáis hablar de guerras y rumores de guerras, no os preocupéis. Porque es necesario que se produzcan, pero aún no es el fin.
8 Because nation will be raised against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and tumults. These things are the beginning of birth pains.
Porque se levantará nación contra nación, y reino contra reino. Habrá terremotos en varios lugares. Habrá hambres y problemas. Estas cosas son el comienzo de los dolores de parto.
9 “But watch out for yourselves, because they will deliver you up to councils and flog you in synagogues, and you will be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them.
“Pero vigilad, porque os entregarán a los concilios. Seréis golpeados en las sinagogas. Estaréis ante gobernantes y reyes por mi causa, para darles testimonio.
10 Also, the Gospel must first be proclaimed to all the ethnic nations.
Primero hay que predicar la Buena Nueva a todas las naciones.
11 Now whenever they lead you away and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand nor premeditate what you will say; rather, whatever is given to you in that hour, speak that, because it will not be you doing the speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
Cuando os lleven y os entreguen, no os preocupéis de antemano ni premeditéis lo que vais a decir, sino que decid lo que se os dé en esa hora. Porque no sois vosotros los que habláis, sino el Espíritu Santo.
12 “Further, brother will betray brother to death and a father his child, and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.
“El hermano entregará al hermano a la muerte, y el padre a su hijo. Los hijos se levantarán contra los padres y los harán morir.
13 And you will be hated by all for my name's sake, yet he who endures to the end, he will be saved.
Seréis odiados por todos los hombres por causa de mi nombre, pero el que aguante hasta el final se salvará.
14 “Now whenever you see the ‘abomination of desolation’, the one spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where he should not”—let the reader understand—“then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
“Pero cuando veáis que la abominación de la desolación, de la que habló el profeta Daniel, está donde no debe estar” (que el lector entienda), “entonces los que estén en Judea huyan a las montañas,
15 Let him who is on the housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his house.
y el que esté en la azotea no baje ni entre para tomar algo de su casa.
16 Let him who is in the field not return to his things to get his cloak.
Que el que esté en el campo no regrese para tomar su manto.
17 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
Pero ¡ay de las que están embarazadas y de las que amamantan en esos días!
18 And pray that your flight not take place in winter,
Orad para que su huida no sea en el invierno.
19 because those will be days of affliction such as there has not been the like from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never again shall be.
Porque en esos días habrá opresión, como no la ha habido desde el principio de la creación que Dios creó hasta ahora, ni la habrá jamás.
20 If the Lord did not cut those days short, no one would be saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He did shorten the days.
Si el Señor no hubiera acortado los días, ninguna carne se habría salvado; pero por amor a los elegidos, a quienes escogió, acortó los días.
21 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ ‘Look, there!’ do not believe it;
Entonces, si alguien les dice: “Miren, aquí está el Cristo” o “Miren, allí”, no lo crean.
22 because false christs and false prophets will be raised up, and they will show signs and wonders so as to even mislead the elect, if that were possible.
Porque se levantarán falsos cristos y falsos profetas que harán señales y prodigios, para extraviar, si es posible, incluso a los elegidos.
23 So you watch out! See, I have told you everything in advance.
Pero ustedes vigilen. “He aquí, os he dicho todas las cosas de antemano.
24 “But in those days, after that tribulation, ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
Pero en esos días, después de esa opresión, el sol se oscurecerá, la luna no dará su luz,
25 the stars of heaven will be falling, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.’
las estrellas caerán del cielo, y las potencias que están en los cielos serán sacudidas.
26 And then they will see the Son of the Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
Entonces verán al Hijo del Hombre venir en las nubes con gran poder y gloria.
27 And then He will send His angels and gather together His elect from the four winds, from earth's extreme point to heaven's extreme point.
Entonces enviará a sus ángeles y reunirá a sus elegidos de los cuatro vientos, desde los confines de la tierra hasta los confines del cielo.
28 “Now learn this example from the fig tree: whenever its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, one knows that the summer is near.
“Ahora, de la higuera, aprended esta parábola. Cuando la rama ya está tierna y produce sus hojas, sabéis que el verano está cerca;
29 Even so you also, whenever you see these things happening, know that it is near—at the doors!
así también vosotros, cuando veáis que suceden estas cosas, sabed que está cerca, a las puertas.
30 Assuredly I tell you that this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things happen.
De cierto os digo que esta generación no pasará hasta que sucedan todas estas cosas.
31 The heaven and the earth will pass away, but my words will certainly not pass away.
El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán.
32 “Now concerning that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels who are in heaven, not the Son, but only the Father.
“Pero de ese día o de esa hora nadie sabe, ni siquiera los ángeles del cielo, ni el Hijo, sino sólo el Padre.
33 Watch! Keep alert! Pray! Because you do not know when that time will be.
Velad, estad atentos y orad, porque no sabéis cuándo es el momento.
34 It is like a man off on a journey, having left his house and given the authority to his slaves, and to each his work; and he commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch.
“Es como si un hombre que viaja a otro país, dejara su casa y diera autoridad a sus siervos, y a cada uno su trabajo, y ordenara también al portero que vigilara.
35 Therefore be watchful, because you do not know when the master of the house is coming—at evening or at midnight or at cockcrow or early morning—
Velad, pues, porque no sabéis cuándo vendrá el señor de la casa, si al atardecer, o a medianoche, o cuando cante el gallo, o por la mañana;
36 lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
no sea que, viniendo de repente, os encuentre durmiendo.
37 The things I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”
Loque os digo, lo digo a todos: Velad”.
