< Luke 24 >

1 Then on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb carrying the spices they had prepared, along with some others.
ಅಥ ಸಪ್ತಾಹಪ್ರಥಮದಿನೇಽತಿಪ್ರತ್ಯೂಷೇ ತಾ ಯೋಷಿತಃ ಸಮ್ಪಾದಿತಂ ಸುಗನ್ಧಿದ್ರವ್ಯಂ ಗೃಹೀತ್ವಾ ತದನ್ಯಾಭಿಃ ಕಿಯತೀಭಿಃ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಭಿಃ ಸಹ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಂ ಯಯುಃ|
2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,
ಕಿನ್ತು ಶ್ಮಶಾನದ್ವಾರಾತ್ ಪಾಷಾಣಮಪಸಾರಿತಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ
3 but upon entering they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
ತಾಃ ಪ್ರವಿಶ್ಯ ಪ್ರಭೋ ರ್ದೇಹಮಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ
4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that wow, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing!
ವ್ಯಾಕುಲಾ ಭವನ್ತಿ ಏತರ್ಹಿ ತೇಜೋಮಯವಸ್ತ್ರಾನ್ವಿತೌ ದ್ವೌ ಪುರುಷೌ ತಾಸಾಂ ಸಮೀಪೇ ಸಮುಪಸ್ಥಿತೌ
5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them: “Why do you seek the living One among the dead?
ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ತಾಃ ಶಙ್ಕಾಯುಕ್ತಾ ಭೂಮಾವಧೋಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಯಸ್ಥುಃ| ತದಾ ತೌ ತಾ ಊಚತು ರ್ಮೃತಾನಾಂ ಮಧ್ಯೇ ಜೀವನ್ತಂ ಕುತೋ ಮೃಗಯಥ?
6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He told you while still in Galilee,
ಸೋತ್ರ ನಾಸ್ತಿ ಸ ಉದಸ್ಥಾತ್|
7 saying, ‘The Son of the Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’”
ಪಾಪಿನಾಂ ಕರೇಷು ಸಮರ್ಪಿತೇನ ಕ್ರುಶೇ ಹತೇನ ಚ ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರೇಣ ತೃತೀಯದಿವಸೇ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಾದುತ್ಥಾತವ್ಯಮ್ ಇತಿ ಕಥಾಂ ಸ ಗಲೀಲಿ ತಿಷ್ಠನ್ ಯುಷ್ಮಭ್ಯಂ ಕಥಿತವಾನ್ ತಾಂ ಸ್ಮರತ|
8 And they remembered His words.
ತದಾ ತಸ್ಯ ಸಾ ಕಥಾ ತಾಸಾಂ ಮನಃಸು ಜಾತಾ|
9 Then they returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the Eleven, and to all the rest.
ಅನನ್ತರಂ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಾದ್ ಗತ್ವಾ ತಾ ಏಕಾದಶಶಿಷ್ಯಾದಿಭ್ಯಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವೇಭ್ಯಸ್ತಾಂ ವಾರ್ತ್ತಾಂ ಕಥಯಾಮಾಸುಃ|
10 They were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, who told these things to the apostles.
ಮಗ್ದಲೀನೀಮರಿಯಮ್, ಯೋಹನಾ, ಯಾಕೂಬೋ ಮಾತಾ ಮರಿಯಮ್ ತದನ್ಯಾಃ ಸಙ್ಗಿನ್ಯೋ ಯೋಷಿತಶ್ಚ ಪ್ರೇರಿತೇಭ್ಯ ಏತಾಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವಾ ವಾರ್ತ್ತಾಃ ಕಥಯಾಮಾಸುಃ
11 But their words seemed to them like nonsense, and they disbelieved them.
ಕಿನ್ತು ತಾಸಾಂ ಕಥಾಮ್ ಅನರ್ಥಕಾಖ್ಯಾನಮಾತ್ರಂ ಬುದ್ಧ್ವಾ ಕೋಪಿ ನ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೈತ್|
12 (But Peter had gotten up and run to the tomb, and stooping down he saw the linen strips lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.)
ತದಾ ಪಿತರ ಉತ್ಥಾಯ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಾನ್ತಿಕಂ ದಧಾವ, ತತ್ರ ಚ ಪ್ರಹ್ವೋ ಭೂತ್ವಾ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವೈಕಸ್ಥಾಪಿತಂ ಕೇವಲಂ ವಸ್ತ್ರಂ ದದರ್ಶ; ತಸ್ಮಾದಾಶ್ಚರ್ಯ್ಯಂ ಮನ್ಯಮಾನೋ ಯದಘಟತ ತನ್ಮನಸಿ ವಿಚಾರಯನ್ ಪ್ರತಸ್ಥೇ|
13 And then that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem.
ತಸ್ಮಿನ್ನೇವ ದಿನೇ ದ್ವೌ ಶಿಯ್ಯೌ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಶ್ಚತುಷ್ಕ್ರೋಶಾನ್ತರಿತಮ್ ಇಮ್ಮಾಯುಗ್ರಾಮಂ ಗಚ್ಛನ್ತೌ
14 And they were conversing with each other about all that had happened.
ತಾಸಾಂ ಘಟನಾನಾಂ ಕಥಾಮಕಥಯತಾಂ
15 And then, as they were conversing and discussing, Jesus Himself came up and started going with them.
ತಯೋರಾಲಾಪವಿಚಾರಯೋಃ ಕಾಲೇ ಯೀಶುರಾಗತ್ಯ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಸಹ ಜಗಾಮ
16 But their eyes were restrained, in order that they not recognize Him.
ಕಿನ್ತು ಯಥಾ ತೌ ತಂ ನ ಪರಿಚಿನುತಸ್ತದರ್ಥಂ ತಯೋ ರ್ದೃಷ್ಟಿಃ ಸಂರುದ್ಧಾ|
17 So He said to them, “What words are these that you are exchanging with one another as you walk, and are gloomy?”
ಸ ತೌ ಪೃಷ್ಟವಾನ್ ಯುವಾಂ ವಿಷಣ್ಣೌ ಕಿಂ ವಿಚಾರಯನ್ತೌ ಗಚ್ಛಥಃ?
18 Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are you the only one living in Jerusalem who doesn't know the things that have happened there in these days?”
ತತಸ್ತಯೋಃ ಕ್ಲಿಯಪಾನಾಮಾ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುವಾಚ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಪುರೇಽಧುನಾ ಯಾನ್ಯಘಟನ್ತ ತ್ವಂ ಕೇವಲವಿದೇಶೀ ಕಿಂ ತದ್ವೃತ್ತಾನ್ತಂ ನ ಜಾನಾಸಿ?
19 He said to them, “What things?” So they said to Him: “The things concerning Jesus the Natsorean, how the man was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,
ಸ ಪಪ್ರಚ್ಛ ಕಾ ಘಟನಾಃ? ತದಾ ತೌ ವಕ್ತುಮಾರೇಭಾತೇ ಯೀಶುನಾಮಾ ಯೋ ನಾಸರತೀಯೋ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದೀ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಮಾನುಷಾಣಾಞ್ಚ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ವಾಕ್ಯೇ ಕರ್ಮ್ಮಣಿ ಚ ಶಕ್ತಿಮಾನಾಸೀತ್
20 and how the chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be condemned to death, and they crucified him.
ತಮ್ ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕಾ ವಿಚಾರಕಾಶ್ಚ ಕೇನಾಪಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರೇಣ ಕ್ರುಶೇ ವಿದ್ಧ್ವಾ ತಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಣಾನನಾಶಯನ್ ತದೀಯಾ ಘಟನಾಃ;
21 And we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel! Further, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened.
ಕಿನ್ತು ಯ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲೀಯಲೋಕಾನ್ ಉದ್ಧಾರಯಿಷ್ಯತಿ ಸ ಏವಾಯಮ್ ಇತ್ಯಾಶಾಸ್ಮಾಭಿಃ ಕೃತಾ| ತದ್ಯಥಾ ತಥಾಸ್ತು ತಸ್ಯಾ ಘಟನಾಯಾ ಅದ್ಯ ದಿನತ್ರಯಂ ಗತಂ|
22 Moreover certain women of our group astonished us—arriving early at the tomb,
ಅಧಿಕನ್ತ್ವಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಸಙ್ಗಿನೀನಾಂ ಕಿಯತ್ಸ್ತ್ರೀಣಾಂ ಮುಖೇಭ್ಯೋಽಸಮ್ಭವವಾಕ್ಯಮಿದಂ ಶ್ರುತಂ;
23 and not finding his body, they came saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said he was alive.
ತಾಃ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೂಷೇ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಂ ಗತ್ವಾ ತತ್ರ ತಸ್ಯ ದೇಹಮ್ ಅಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ವ್ಯಾಘುಟ್ಯೇತ್ವಾ ಪ್ರೋಕ್ತವತ್ಯಃ ಸ್ವರ್ಗೀಸದೂತೌ ದೃಷ್ಟಾವಸ್ಮಾಭಿಸ್ತೌ ಚಾವಾದಿಷ್ಟಾಂ ಸ ಜೀವಿತವಾನ್|
24 And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but him they did not see.”
ತತೋಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಕೈಶ್ಚಿತ್ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಮಗಮ್ಯತ ತೇಽಪಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಣಾಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಾನುರೂಪಂ ದೃಷ್ಟವನ್ತಃ ಕಿನ್ತು ತಂ ನಾಪಶ್ಯನ್|
25 Then He said to them: “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the Prophets have spoken!
ತದಾ ಸ ತಾವುವಾಚ, ಹೇ ಅಬೋಧೌ ಹೇ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿಭಿರುಕ್ತವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇತುಂ ವಿಲಮ್ಬಮಾನೌ;
26 Was it really not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into His glory?”
ಏತತ್ಸರ್ವ್ವದುಃಖಂ ಭುಕ್ತ್ವಾ ಸ್ವಭೂತಿಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿಃ ಕಿಂ ಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟಸ್ಯ ನ ನ್ಯಾಯ್ಯಾ?
27 And beginning from Moses, and then all the Prophets, He explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.
ತತಃ ಸ ಮೂಸಾಗ್ರನ್ಥಮಾರಭ್ಯ ಸರ್ವ್ವಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನಾಂ ಸರ್ವ್ವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರೇ ಸ್ವಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಲಿಖಿತಾಖ್ಯಾನಾಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಂ ಬೋಧಯಾಮಾಸ|
28 Then they approached the village where they were going, and He made as though He would keep going.
ಅಥ ಗಮ್ಯಗ್ರಾಮಾಭ್ಯರ್ಣಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ತೇನಾಗ್ರೇ ಗಮನಲಕ್ಷಣೇ ದರ್ಶಿತೇ
29 But they constrained Him, saying, “Stay with us, because it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” So He went in to stay with them.
ತೌ ಸಾಧಯಿತ್ವಾವದತಾಂ ಸಹಾವಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ತಿಷ್ಠ ದಿನೇ ಗತೇ ಸತಿ ರಾತ್ರಿರಭೂತ್; ತತಃ ಸ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಂ ಸ್ಥಾತುಂ ಗೃಹಂ ಯಯೌ|
30 And then, as He was reclining with them, He took the bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.
ಪಶ್ಚಾದ್ಭೋಜನೋಪವೇಶಕಾಲೇ ಸ ಪೂಪಂ ಗೃಹೀತ್ವಾ ಈಶ್ವರಗುಣಾನ್ ಜಗಾದ ತಞ್ಚ ಭಂಕ್ತ್ವಾ ತಾಭ್ಯಾಂ ದದೌ|
31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Him; and He became invisible to them.
ತದಾ ತಯೋ ರ್ದೃಷ್ಟೌ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನಾಯಾಂ ತಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಭಿಜ್ಞತುಃ ಕಿನ್ತು ಸ ತಯೋಃ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾದನ್ತರ್ದಧೇ|
32 They said to one another, “Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked to us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?”
ತತಸ್ತೌ ಮಿಥೋಭಿಧಾತುಮ್ ಆರಬ್ಧವನ್ತೌ ಗಮನಕಾಲೇ ಯದಾ ಕಥಾಮಕಥಯತ್ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಾರ್ಥಞ್ಚಬೋಧಯತ್ ತದಾವಯೋ ರ್ಬುದ್ಧಿಃ ಕಿಂ ನ ಪ್ರಾಜ್ವಲತ್?
33 So they got up forthwith and returned to Jerusalem, where they found the Eleven gathered together; also those with them,
ತೌ ತತ್ಕ್ಷಣಾದುತ್ಥಾಯ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಪುರಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಾಯಯತುಃ, ತತ್ಸ್ಥಾನೇ ಶಿಷ್ಯಾಣಾಮ್ ಏಕಾದಶಾನಾಂ ಸಙ್ಗಿನಾಞ್ಚ ದರ್ಶನಂ ಜಾತಂ|
34 who said, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
ತೇ ಪ್ರೋಚುಃ ಪ್ರಭುರುದತಿಷ್ಠದ್ ಇತಿ ಸತ್ಯಂ ಶಿಮೋನೇ ದರ್ಶನಮದಾಚ್ಚ|
35 Then they described what happened on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of the bread.
ತತಃ ಪಥಃ ಸರ್ವ್ವಘಟನಾಯಾಃ ಪೂಪಭಞ್ಜನೇನ ತತ್ಪರಿಚಯಸ್ಯ ಚ ಸರ್ವ್ವವೃತ್ತಾನ್ತಂ ತೌ ವಕ್ತುಮಾರೇಭಾತೇ|
36 As they were saying these things, indeed, Jesus Himself stood in their midst, and He said to them, “Peace to you.”
ಇತ್ಥಂ ತೇ ಪರಸ್ಪರಂ ವದನ್ತಿ ತತ್ಕಾಲೇ ಯೀಶುಃ ಸ್ವಯಂ ತೇಷಾಂ ಮಧ್ಯ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಥಯ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಂ ಭೂಯಾದ್ ಇತ್ಯುವಾಚ,
37 But they, terrified, supposed they were seeing a ghost, and were becoming fearful.
ಕಿನ್ತು ಭೂತಂ ಪಶ್ಯಾಮ ಇತ್ಯನುಮಾಯ ತೇ ಸಮುದ್ವಿವಿಜಿರೇ ತ್ರೇಷುಶ್ಚ|
38 And He said to them: “Why are you troubled?” and “Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
ಸ ಉವಾಚ, ಕುತೋ ದುಃಖಿತಾ ಭವಥ? ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಮನಃಸು ಸನ್ದೇಹ ಉದೇತಿ ಚ ಕುತಃ?
39 Look at my hands and feet; it is I myself! Feel me and see; a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”
ಏಷೋಹಂ, ಮಮ ಕರೌ ಪಶ್ಯತ ವರಂ ಸ್ಪೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಪಶ್ಯತ, ಮಮ ಯಾದೃಶಾನಿ ಪಶ್ಯಥ ತಾದೃಶಾನಿ ಭೂತಸ್ಯ ಮಾಂಸಾಸ್ಥೀನಿ ನ ಸನ್ತಿ|
40 And saying this He showed them His hands and His feet.
ಇತ್ಯುಕ್ತ್ವಾ ಸ ಹಸ್ತಪಾದಾನ್ ದರ್ಶಯಾಮಾಸ|
41 But as they were still disbelieving and marveling, because of the joy, He said to them, “Do you have any food here?”
ತೇಽಸಮ್ಭವಂ ಜ್ಞಾತ್ವಾ ಸಾನನ್ದಾ ನ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಯನ್| ತತಃ ಸ ತಾನ್ ಪಪ್ರಚ್ಛ, ಅತ್ರ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಕಂ ಸಮೀಪೇ ಖಾದ್ಯಂ ಕಿಞ್ಚಿದಸ್ತಿ?
42 So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish and some honeycomb.
ತತಸ್ತೇ ಕಿಯದ್ದಗ್ಧಮತ್ಸ್ಯಂ ಮಧು ಚ ದದುಃ
43 And taking it He ate in their presence.
ಸ ತದಾದಾಯ ತೇಷಾಂ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾದ್ ಬುಭುಜೇ
44 Then He said to them, “These are the words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything that is written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning me must be fulfilled.”
ಕಥಯಾಮಾಸ ಚ ಮೂಸಾವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಯಾಂ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದ್ವಾದಿನಾಂ ಗ್ರನ್ಥೇಷು ಗೀತಪುಸ್ತಕೇ ಚ ಮಯಿ ಯಾನಿ ಸರ್ವ್ವಾಣಿ ವಚನಾನಿ ಲಿಖಿತಾನಿ ತದನುರೂಪಾಣಿ ಘಟಿಷ್ಯನ್ತೇ ಯುಷ್ಮಾಭಿಃ ಸಾರ್ದ್ಧಂ ಸ್ಥಿತ್ವಾಹಂ ಯದೇತದ್ವಾಕ್ಯಮ್ ಅವದಂ ತದಿದಾನೀಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷಮಭೂತ್|
45 Then He opened their understanding so as to comprehend the Scriptures.
ಅಥ ತೇಭ್ಯಃ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಬೋಧಾಧಿಕಾರಂ ದತ್ವಾವದತ್,
46 And He said to them: “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
ಖ್ರೀಷ್ಟೇನೇತ್ಥಂ ಮೃತಿಯಾತನಾ ಭೋಕ್ತವ್ಯಾ ತೃತೀಯದಿನೇ ಚ ಶ್ಮಶಾನಾದುತ್ಥಾತವ್ಯಞ್ಚೇತಿ ಲಿಪಿರಸ್ತಿ;
47 and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
ತನ್ನಾಮ್ನಾ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಮಾರಭ್ಯ ಸರ್ವ್ವದೇಶೇ ಮನಃಪರಾವರ್ತ್ತನಸ್ಯ ಪಾಪಮೋಚನಸ್ಯ ಚ ಸುಸಂವಾದಃ ಪ್ರಚಾರಯಿತವ್ಯಃ,
48 You are witnesses of these things.
ಏಷು ಸರ್ವ್ವೇಷು ಯೂಯಂ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಣಃ|
49 Take note, I am sending the Promise of my Father upon you; but you must stay in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on High.”
ಅಪರಞ್ಚ ಪಶ್ಯತ ಪಿತ್ರಾ ಯತ್ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞಾತಂ ತತ್ ಪ್ರೇಷಯಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ, ಅತಏವ ಯಾವತ್ಕಾಲಂ ಯೂಯಂ ಸ್ವರ್ಗೀಯಾಂ ಶಕ್ತಿಂ ನ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಸ್ಯಥ ತಾವತ್ಕಾಲಂ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮ್ನಗರೇ ತಿಷ್ಠತ|
50 He led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up His hands He blessed them.
ಅಥ ಸ ತಾನ್ ಬೈಥನೀಯಾಪರ್ಯ್ಯನ್ತಂ ನೀತ್ವಾ ಹಸ್ತಾವುತ್ತೋಲ್ಯ ಆಶಿಷ ವಕ್ತುಮಾರೇಭೇ
51 And it happened, as He was blessing them, that He left them and was carried up into heaven.
ಆಶಿಷಂ ವದನ್ನೇವ ಚ ತೇಭ್ಯಃ ಪೃಥಗ್ ಭೂತ್ವಾ ಸ್ವರ್ಗಾಯ ನೀತೋಽಭವತ್|
52 Worshiping Him, they returned to Jerusalem with great joy;
ತದಾ ತೇ ತಂ ಭಜಮಾನಾ ಮಹಾನನ್ದೇನ ಯಿರೂಶಾಲಮಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಾಜಗ್ಮುಃ|
53 and they were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
ತತೋ ನಿರನ್ತರಂ ಮನ್ದಿರೇ ತಿಷ್ಠನ್ತ ಈಶ್ವರಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಶಂಸಾಂ ಧನ್ಯವಾದಞ್ಚ ಕರ್ತ್ತಮ್ ಆರೇಭಿರೇ| ಇತಿ||
