Luke 18
1 And then He told them a parable, the point being that one needs to always pray and not lose heart,
அபரஞ்ச லோகைரக்லாந்தை ர்நிரந்தரம்’ ப்ரார்த²யிதவ்யம் இத்யாஸ²யேந யீஸு²நா த்³ரு’ஷ்டாந்த ஏக: கதி²த: |
2 saying: “There was a judge in a certain town who did not fear God nor regard man.
குத்ரசிந்நக³ரே கஸ்²சித் ப்ராட்³விவாக ஆஸீத் ஸ ஈஸ்²வராந்நாபி³பே⁴த் மாநுஷாம்’ஸ்²ச நாமந்யத|
3 But there was a widow in that town, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’
அத² தத்புரவாஸிநீ காசித்³வித⁴வா தத்ஸமீபமேத்ய விவாதி³நா ஸஹ மம விவாத³ம்’ பரிஷ்குர்வ்விதி நிவேத³யாமாஸ|
4 And for a while he refused; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Even though I don't fear God nor regard man,
தத: ஸ ப்ராட்³விவாக: கியத்³தி³நாநி ந தத³ங்கீ³க்ரு’தவாந் பஸ்²சாச்சித்தே சிந்தயாமாஸ, யத்³யபீஸ்²வராந்ந பி³பே⁴மி மநுஷ்யாநபி ந மந்யே
5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will defend her, so that her endless coming doesn't wear me out!’”
ததா²ப்யேஷா வித⁴வா மாம்’ க்லிஸ்²நாதி தஸ்மாத³ஸ்யா விவாத³ம்’ பரிஷ்கரிஷ்யாமி நோசேத் ஸா ஸதா³க³த்ய மாம்’ வ்யக்³ரம்’ கரிஷ்யதி|
6 Then the Lord said: “Hear what the unjust judge said.
பஸ்²சாத் ப்ரபு⁴ரவத³த்³ அஸாவந்யாயப்ராட்³விவாகோ யதா³ஹ தத்ர மநோ நித⁴த்⁴வம்’|
7 And will not God get justice for His elect who are crying out to Him day and night, indeed being patient with them?
ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய யே (அ)பி⁴ருசிதலோகா தி³வாநிஸ²ம்’ ப்ரார்த²யந்தே ஸ ப³ஹுதி³நாநி விலம்ப்³யாபி தேஷாம்’ விவாதா³ந் கிம்’ ந பரிஷ்கரிஷ்யதி?
8 I tell you that He will get justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of the Man comes, will He actually find the faith on the earth?”
யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ வதா³மி த்வரயா பரிஷ்கரிஷ்யதி, கிந்து யதா³ மநுஷ்யபுத்ர ஆக³மிஷ்யதி ததா³ ப்ரு’தி²வ்யாம்’ கிமீத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ விஸ்²வாஸம்’ ப்ராப்ஸ்யதி?
9 Then He told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised the rest:
யே ஸ்வாந் தா⁴ர்ம்மிகாந் ஜ்ஞாத்வா பராந் துச்சீ²குர்வ்வந்தி ஏதாத்³ரு’க்³ப்⁴ய: , கியத்³ப்⁴ய இமம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டாந்தம்’ கத²யாமாஸ|
10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
ஏக: பி²ரூஸ்²யபர: கரஸஞ்சாயீ த்³வாவிமௌ ப்ரார்த²யிதும்’ மந்தி³ரம்’ க³தௌ|
11 The Pharisee stood and started praying to himself like this: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like all the rest—robbers, unjust, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.
ததோ(அ)ஸௌ பி²ரூஸ்²யேகபார்ஸ்²வே திஷ்ட²ந் ஹே ஈஸ்²வர அஹமந்யலோகவத் லோட²யிதாந்யாயீ பாரதா³ரிகஸ்²ச ந ப⁴வாமி அஸ்ய கரஸஞ்சாயிநஸ்துல்யஸ்²ச ந, தஸ்மாத்த்வாம்’ த⁴ந்யம்’ வதா³மி|
12 I fast twice a week; I tithe all that I get.’
ஸப்தஸு தி³நேஷு தி³நத்³வயமுபவஸாமி ஸர்வ்வஸம்பத்தே ர்த³ஸ²மாம்’ஸ²ம்’ த³தா³மி ச, ஏதத்கதா²ம்’ கத²யந் ப்ரார்த²யாமாஸ|
13 The tax collector, staying a good ways off, did not even venture to look up to heaven, but started beating on his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’
கிந்து ஸ கரஸஞ்சாயி தூ³ரே திஷ்ட²ந் ஸ்வர்க³ம்’ த்³ரஷ்டும்’ நேச்ச²ந் வக்ஷஸி கராகா⁴தம்’ குர்வ்வந் ஹே ஈஸ்²வர பாபிஷ்ட²ம்’ மாம்’ த³யஸ்வ, இத்த²ம்’ ப்ரார்த²யாமாஸ|
14 I say to you that this one went back home justified rather than that one; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ வதா³மி, தயோர்த்³வயோ ர்மத்⁴யே கேவல: கரஸஞ்சாயீ புண்யவத்த்வேந க³ணிதோ நிஜக்³ரு’ஹம்’ ஜகா³ம, யதோ ய: கஸ்²சித் ஸ்வமுந்நமயதி ஸ நாமயிஷ்யதே கிந்து ய: கஸ்²சித் ஸ்வம்’ நமயதி ஸ உந்நமயிஷ்யதே|
15 Then they even started bringing their babies to Him, that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
அத² ஸி²ஸூ²நாம்’ கா³த்ரஸ்பர்ஸா²ர்த²ம்’ லோகாஸ்தாந் தஸ்ய ஸமீபமாநிந்யு: ஸி²ஷ்யாஸ்தத்³ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வாநேத்ரு’ந் தர்ஜயாமாஸு: ,
16 But Jesus summoned them and said: “Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them; because the Kingdom of God is of such.
கிந்து யீஸு²ஸ்தாநாஹூய ஜகா³த³, மந்நிகடம் ஆக³ந்தும்’ ஸி²ஸூ²ந் அநுஜாநீத்⁴வம்’ தாம்’ஸ்²ச மா வாரயத; யத ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யாதி⁴காரிண ஏஷாம்’ ஸத்³ரு’ஸா²: |
17 I tell you assuredly, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God the way a little child does will by no means enter it.”
அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாந் யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி, யோ ஜந: ஸி²ஸோ²: ஸத்³ரு’ஸோ² பூ⁴த்வா ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யம்’ ந க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி ஸ கேநாபி ப்ரகாரேண தத் ப்ரவேஷ்டும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி|
18 A certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
அபரம் ஏகோதி⁴பதிஸ்தம்’ பப்ரச்ச², ஹே பரமகு³ரோ, அநந்தாயுஷ: ப்ராப்தயே மயா கிம்’ கர்த்தவ்யம்’? (aiōnios g166)
19 So Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one—God.
யீஸு²ருவாச, மாம்’ குத: பரமம்’ வத³ஸி? ஈஸ்²வரம்’ விநா கோபி பரமோ ந ப⁴வதி|
20 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and your mother.’”
பரதா³ராந் மா க³ச்ச², நரம்’ மா ஜஹி, மா சோரய, மித்²யாஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ மா தே³ஹி, மாதரம்’ பிதரஞ்ச ஸம்’மந்யஸ்வ, ஏதா யா ஆஜ்ஞா: ஸந்தி தாஸ்த்வம்’ ஜாநாஸி|
21 And he said, “All these I have kept from my youth.”
ததா³ ஸ உவாச, பா³ல்யகாலாத் ஸர்வ்வா ஏதா ஆசராமி|
22 Well upon hearing these things Jesus said to him, “You still lack one thing: sell all you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
இதி கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா யீஸு²ஸ்தமவத³த், ததா²பி தவைகம்’ கர்ம்ம ந்யூநமாஸ்தே, நிஜம்’ ஸர்வ்வஸ்வம்’ விக்ரீய த³ரித்³ரேப்⁴யோ விதர, தஸ்மாத் ஸ்வர்கே³ த⁴நம்’ ப்ராப்ஸ்யஸி; தத ஆக³த்ய மமாநுகா³மீ ப⁴வ|
23 But when he heard this he became very sad, because he was extremely rich.
கிந்த்வேதாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா ஸோதி⁴பதி: ஸு²ஸோ²ச, யதஸ்தஸ்ய ப³ஹுத⁴நமாஸீத்|
24 When Jesus saw that he became sad, He said: “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter the Kingdom of God!
ததா³ யீஸு²ஸ்தமதிஸோ²காந்விதம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்ட்வா ஜகா³த³, த⁴நவதாம் ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யப்ரவேஸ²: கீத்³ரு’க்³ து³ஷ்கர: |
25 It is actually easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God!”
ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யே த⁴நிந: ப்ரவேஸா²த் ஸூசேஸ்²சி²த்³ரேண மஹாங்க³ஸ்ய க³மநாக³மநே ஸுகரே|
26 So the hearers said, “Who then can be saved?”
ஸ்²ரோதார: பப்ரச்சு²ஸ்தர்ஹி கேந பரித்ராணம்’ ப்ராப்ஸ்யதே?
27 And He said, “The things that are impossible with men are possible with God.”
ஸ உக்தவாந், யந் மாநுஷேணாஸ²க்யம்’ தத்³ ஈஸ்²வரேண ஸ²க்யம்’|
28 Then Peter said, “Notice that we have left all and followed you!”
ததா³ பிதர உவாச, பஸ்²ய வயம்’ ஸர்வ்வஸ்வம்’ பரித்யஜ்ய தவ பஸ்²சாத்³கா³மிநோ(அ)ப⁴வாம|
29 So He said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God,
தத: ஸ உவாச, யுஷ்மாநஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ வதா³மி, ஈஸ்²வரராஜ்யார்த²ம்’ க்³ரு’ஹம்’ பிதரௌ ப்⁴ராத்ரு’க³ணம்’ ஜாயாம்’ ஸந்தாநாம்’ஸ்²ச த்யக்தவா
31 Then He took the Twelve aside and said to them: “Take note, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of the Man will be fulfilled:
அநந்தரம்’ ஸ த்³வாத³ஸ²ஸி²ஷ்யாநாஹூய ப³பா⁴ஷே, பஸ்²யத வயம்’ யிரூஸா²லம்நக³ரம்’ யாம: , தஸ்மாத் மநுஷ்யபுத்ரே ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³பி⁴ருக்தம்’ யத³ஸ்தி தத³நுரூபம்’ தம்’ ப்ரதி க⁴டிஷ்யதே;
32 He will be betrayed to the Gentiles, and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon,
வஸ்துதஸ்து ஸோ(அ)ந்யதே³ஸீ²யாநாம்’ ஹஸ்தேஷு ஸமர்பயிஷ்யதே, தே தமுபஹஸிஷ்யந்தி, அந்யாயமாசரிஷ்யந்தி தத்³வபுஷி நிஷ்டீ²வம்’ நிக்ஷேப்ஸ்யந்தி, கஸா²பி⁴: ப்ரஹ்ரு’த்ய தம்’ ஹநிஷ்யந்தி ச,
33 and they will scourge and kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.”
கிந்து த்ரு’தீயதி³நே ஸ ஸ்²மஸா²நாத்³ உத்தா²ஸ்யதி|
34 But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know what was being said.
ஏதஸ்யா: கதா²யா அபி⁴ப்ராயம்’ கிஞ்சித³பி தே போ³த்³து⁴ம்’ ந ஸே²கு: தேஷாம்’ நிகடே(அ)ஸ்பஷ்டதவாத் தஸ்யைதாஸாம்’ கதா²நாம் ஆஸ²யம்’ தே ஜ்ஞாதும்’ ந ஸே²குஸ்²ச|
35 Then it happened, as He approached Jericho, that a certain blind man was sitting alongside the road begging.
அத² தஸ்மிந் யிரீஹோ: புரஸ்யாந்திகம்’ ப்ராப்தே கஸ்²சித³ந்த⁴: பத²: பார்ஸ்²வ உபவிஸ்²ய பி⁴க்ஷாம் அகரோத்
36 Hearing a crowd going by, he asked what it was.
ஸ லோகஸமூஹஸ்ய க³மநஸ²ப்³த³ம்’ ஸ்²ருத்வா தத்காரணம்’ ப்ரு’ஷ்டவாந்|
37 So they told him that Jesus the Natsorean was passing by.
நாஸரதீயயீஸு²ர்யாதீதி லோகைருக்தே ஸ உச்சைர்வக்துமாரேபே⁴,
38 Well he shouted, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
ஹே தா³யூத³: ஸந்தாந யீஸோ² மாம்’ த³யஸ்வ|
39 Those who led the way started reproving him, to shut him up; but he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
ததோக்³ரகா³மிநஸ்தம்’ மௌநீ திஷ்டே²தி தர்ஜயாமாஸு: கிந்து ஸ புநாருவந் உவாச, ஹே தா³யூத³: ஸந்தாந மாம்’ த³யஸ்வ|
40 So Jesus stopped and ordered that he be brought to Him. When he got close He asked him, saying,
ததா³ யீஸு²: ஸ்த²கி³தோ பூ⁴த்வா ஸ்வாந்திகே தமாநேதும் ஆதி³தே³ஸ²|
41 “What do you want me to do for you?” So he said, “Lord, that I may see again!”
தத: ஸ தஸ்யாந்திகம் ஆக³மத், ததா³ ஸ தம்’ பப்ரச்ச², த்வம்’ கிமிச்ச²ஸி? த்வத³ர்த²மஹம்’ கிம்’ கரிஷ்யாமி? ஸ உக்தவாந், ஹே ப்ரபோ⁴(அ)ஹம்’ த்³ரஷ்டும்’ லபை⁴|
42 Then Jesus said to him: “See again! Your faith has made you well.”
ததா³ யீஸு²ருவாச, த்³ரு’ஷ்டிஸ²க்திம்’ க்³ரு’ஹாண தவ ப்ரத்யயஸ்த்வாம்’ ஸ்வஸ்த²ம்’ க்ரு’தவாந்|
43 And immediately he did! and he followed Him, glorifying God. And all who witnessed it gave praise to God.
ததஸ்தத்க்ஷணாத் தஸ்ய சக்ஷுஷீ ப்ரஸந்நே; தஸ்மாத் ஸ ஈஸ்²வரம்’ த⁴ந்யம்’ வத³ந் தத்பஸ்²சாத்³ யயௌ, ததா³லோக்ய ஸர்வ்வே லோகா ஈஸ்²வரம்’ ப்ரஸ²ம்’ஸிதும் ஆரேபி⁴ரே|
