< James 1 >

1 James, a slave of God and of Sovereign Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes that are in the Dispersion: Greetings.

2 Count it all joy, my brothers, whenever you fall into various trials,
Ee t’ie hatao ho hafaleañe pea, ry longo naho mizo fitsohañe ankafankafa,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance;
fohiñe te minday fahaliñisañe ty fitsohañe o fatokisa’ areoo.
4 but let that endurance have a complete work, so that you may be perfect and complete, falling short in nothing.
Le apoho ho heneke i fahaliñisañey, soa t’ie ho vañoñe naho fonitse tsy hipay ndra inoñ’ inoñe.
5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask from the giving God, who gives to all liberally and does not reproach, and it will be given to him.
Aa naho ama’ areo ty mipay hilala, soa re te hihalaly aman’ Añahare, fa hene atarìha’e tsy aman-tìñe, vaho hitolorañe.
6 However, let him ask in faith, with no doubting, because he who doubts is like a sea wave driven and tossed by the wind—
Ie mihalaly, le am-patokisañe tsy mifejofejo, fa am-panahafeñe ami’ty onjan-driak’ asiotsion-tioke, mivali­taboake mb’etia mb’eroa, ty mitroetroe am-patokisañe,
7 such a man should not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord,
Ee te tsy hitamà handrambe ndra inoñ’inoñe amy Talè indatiy.
8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Maletroletro amy ze fonga sata’e ty milolohe vatavo roe.
9 Now the lowly brother should glory in his high position,
Ehe te hirenge ami’ty halohà’e ty longo trentrañe;
10 but the rich brother in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a flower of wild grass.

11 For the sun rises with its burning heat and withers the grass, and its flower falls off and the beauty of its face perishes. Just so the rich man will be withered in his undertakings.
Ie manjirik’ an-katrovòha’e reketse tio-mae i àndroy, le miheatse o ahetseo, mihintsañe o voñe’eo vaho mikò-mavo ty hasoa-vinta’e. Hoe izay ty hiforejejea’ ty mpañaleale amo fitoloña’eo.
12 A man who endures testing is blessed, because upon becoming approved he will receive the crown of the life that the Lord has promised to those loving Him.
Haha t’indaty mahafeake fitsohañe, fa ie ventèñe ro handrambe i sabakan-kaveloñe nampitamà’ i Talè o mpikoko azeoy.
13 Let no one, upon being tempted, say, “I am being tempted by God,” because God is untemptable by evil, so He Himself does not tempt anyone.
Aa ie zizieñe t’indaty, ee te tsy hanoe’e ty hoe: Azizin’ Añahare iraho. Amy te tsy mete zizien-draty t’i Andrianañahare vaho tsy zizie’e t’ondaty;
14 But each one is tempted by his own craving, being taken in tow and enticed.
f’ie songa zizieñe te kozozote’ o drao raty manigìk’ azeo.
15 Then the craving, upon conceiving, gives birth to sin, and the sin, upon completion, delivers death.
Ie miareñe i hasiji’ey le mitoly hakeo; ie añoñ’ay i tahiñey le mampikoromake.
16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers:
Mitaoa tsy ho fitaheñe ry longo sarotse.
17 every good giving and every perfect gift is from Above, coming down from the Father of the lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
Boak’ ambone añe iaby ze raha soa natolotse naho ze falalàñe, mizotso hirik’ aman-dRaen-kazavàñe; ie tsy mihotike, tsy an-kaieñe te mihodiñe.
18 Having willed it, He brought us forth by a word of truth, so that we might be a sort of firstfruits of His products.
An-satri’e ty nampiareña’e an-tika ami’ty tsara to, ho karazan-doha-voa amo namboare’eo.
19 So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
Aa le soa ry longoko sarotseo te songa havitrik’ am-pi­tsendreñañe naho malea an-tsaontsy vaho malaoñe an-kaviñerañe,
20 because a man's anger does not achieve God's righteousness.

21 Therefore, laying aside all filthiness and overflow of evil, receive with meekness the implanted Word which is able to save your souls.

22 Further, become word doers and not just hearers, deceiving yourselves.
Toloño i tsaray, le ko mijanjiñe avao hamañahy vatañe.
23 Because if anyone is a law hearer and not a doer, the same is like a man observing his physical face in a mirror;
Naho mpijanjin-tsara t’indaty, fa tsy mitoloñe, le ampanahafeñe amy t’indaty mihetsoro laharañe.
24 for he observes himself, then goes away and promptly forgets what he is like.
Ie mahaisa-batañe naho mienga, ro mañaliño i vintañe nioni’e anianiy.
25 But he who looks carefully into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, he—not being a forgetful hearer but a work doer—he will be blessed in what he does.
Fe ze mibiribiry i Hake famotsorañe hiringiri’ey, naho mañambeñe aze, tsy manao fijanjiñam-bei-areke, fa mpifanehak’ amy fitoloñañey, ro tahieñe amo sata’eo.
26 If anyone among you thinks he is religious, not bridling his tongue but deceiving his heart, his religion is useless.
Naho eo ty mieva ho mpitalaho, fa tsy vahora’e i famele’ey le mamañahy troke, vaho kafoake o fitalahoa’eo.
27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their adversity; to keep oneself unspotted from the world.
Zao ty fitalahoañe hiringiri’e tsy aman-kila añatrefan’ Añahare Rae: le ty fiti­lihañe bode-rae naho vantotse amo fisotria’eo, vaho ty fifoneñañe tsy ho pepoe’ ty voatse toy.
