Hebrews 6
1 Therefore, leaving the elementary teaching about Christ, let us move on toward perfection, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and trust in God,
Por lo cual dejando ya la palabra del comienzo en la institución de Cristo, vayamos adelante a la perfección, no echando otra vez el fundamento del arrepentimiento de las obras muertas, y de la fe a Dios,
2 of teaching about baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (aiōnios g166)
De la doctrina de los bautismos, y de la imposición de manos, y de la resurrección de los muertos, y del juicio eterno; (aiōnios g166)
3 We will do this, that is, if indeed God should permit it.
Y esto haremos, a la verdad, si Dios lo permitiere.
4 Because, it is impossible to bring back into repentance those who were once for all enlightened, who have partaken of the heavenly gift and were made sharers in the Holy Spirit,
Porque es imposible que los que una vez recibieron la luz, y que gustaron el don celestial, y que fueron hechos partícipes del Espíritu Santo,
Y que asimismo gustaron la buena palabra de Dios, y las virtudes del siglo venidero, (aiōn g165)
6 and yet have fallen away—they would be crucifying the Son of God all over again, just for themselves, holding Him up to contempt.
Y han caído en apostasía, ser renovados de nuevo por arrepentimiento, crucificando otra vez para sí mismos al Hijo de Dios, y exponiéndole a vituperio.
7 Now the ground that drinks in the rain that frequently falls on it and produces a crop useful to those for whom it is really cultivated receives blessing from God;
Porque la tierra que embebe la lluvia que muchas veces viene sobre ella, y que engendra yerba oportuna a aquellos por los cuales es labrada, recibe bendición de Dios.
8 but should it bear thorns and thistles, it is disqualified, almost a curse, whose destiny is a burning.
Mas la que produce espinas y abrojos, es reprobada, y cercana de maldición, y cuyo fin es ser quemada.
9 For all that, dear ones, we are confident of the better things concerning you—things that accompany salvation—even though we speak like this.
Pero de vosotros, oh amados, confiamos mejores cosas, y más cercanas a salud, aunque hablamos así.
10 Because God is not unjust so as to ignore your work, even the labor of love you have invested in His name, in that you have ministered to the saints and continue to do so.
Porque Dios no es injusto que se olvide de vuestra obra, y del trabajo de amor que habéis mostrado por respeto a su nombre, habiendo ministrado a los santos, y ministrándo los aun.
11 You see, we really do want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so as to fulfill the hope;
Empero deseamos que cada uno de vosotros muestre la misma solicitud hasta el cabo para completa seguridad de su esperanza.
12 so that you not become lazy, but rather imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Que no os hagáis perezosos, mas imitadores de aquellos que por medio de la fe y de la paciencia están heredando las promesas.
13 Now when God made a promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself
Porque cuando Dios hizo la promesa a Abraham, ya que no podía jurar por otro mayor, juró por sí mismo,
14 saying, “Indeed, blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”
Diciendo: Ciertamente te bendeciré bendiciendo; y multiplicando, te multiplicaré.
15 And so, after he had been patient, he obtained the promise.
Y así habiendo esperado con largura de ánimo, alcanzó la promesa.
16 Because since men swear by the greater, and for them the confirming oath puts an end to every dispute,
Porque los hombres ciertamente por el mayor que ellos juran; y el juramento, para confirmación, es para ellos el término de toda contención.
17 similarly God, being determined to show even more clearly to the heirs of the promise the unchanging nature of His purpose, guaranteed it by an oath,
En lo cual queriendo Dios mostrar más abundantemente a los herederos de la promesa la inmutabilidad de su consejo, intervino con juramento;
18 so that by two unalterable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we should have a strong encouragement, we who have taken refuge by grasping the hope set before us;
Para que por dos cosas inmutables, en las cuales era imposible que Dios mintiese, tuviéramos un fortísimo consuelo, los que nos hemos refugiado a trabarnos de la esperanza propuesta;
19 which hope we have as an anchor for the soul, both certain and secure, actually entering the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,
La cual tenemos como áncora del alma, tan segura como firme, y que entra hasta del velo adentro:
