< Acts 12 >

1 Now about that time, Herod the king laid hands on some from the church to mistreat them.
Tome na gene mobhapego, a Elode gubhatandwibhe kwaabhonelanga bhandunji bhana bha a Nnungu.
2 James, the brother of John, he put to death by sword.
A Elode gubhaabhuleje kwa upanga a Yakobho, apwabho a Yowana.
3 When he saw that it was pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter as well (it was during the days of the unleavened loaves)
Bhakabhoneje kuti Bhayaudi ishikwanonyelanga kwa shene shitendisho, gubhaakamwile na a Petili. Genego pugatendeshe mobha ga shikukuu sha mikate jangataga ngedule.
4 —upon seizing him he put him in prison, turning him over to sixteen soldiers to guard him, intending to bring him out to the people after the Passover.
Bhakaakamuleje a Petili, gubhaaugalile nnigelesha, gubhaabhishile muulinda gwa ikundi nsheshe ya ashimanjola nsheshensheshe. A Elode pubhatumbilile bhaakopoye pa lugwinjili lwa bhandu shipitaga shikukuu sha Bhayaudi shashemwaga Pashaka.
5 Well Peter was being held in the prison all right, but the congregation was making earnest prayer to God on his behalf.
Bhai, a Petili bhali nnigelesha, bhandunji bha a Nnungu gubhatumbililenje kwaajuga a Nnungu.
6 So when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, with guards protecting the prison in front of the doors.
Shene shilosho a Elode bhakanabhe kwaakopoya a Petili kulugwinjili, a Petili gubhagonile pakatipakati ja ashimanjola bhabhili, bhalibhatabhilwe mindondolo jibhili na bhalinda bhalinginji muulinda pa nnango gwa ligelesha.
7 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord was there, and a light shone in the cell; striking Peter on the side he roused him saying, “Quick, get up!” and the chains fell away from his wrists.
Shangupe malaika jwa Bhakulungwa gwajimi tome na bhenebho, shilangaya shikulangayaga nnigelesha mula. Malaika jwa a Nnungu akwaapalamulaga a Petili mmbalati alinkuti, “Nnjabhule shangu!” Pala pepala mindondolo jibhatabhilwe mmakono jila jikukutukaga na shigwilile pai.
8 Then the angel said to him, “Fasten your belt and put on your sandals.” So he did. Then he said to him, “Put on your cloak and follow me.”
Malaika jwa a Nnungu gwabhabhalanjile, “Mwitabhe nshipi gwenu, nng'wale ilatu yenu. Gubhatendile nnepeila. Malaika gwabhabhalanjile nng'wale likoti lyenu nngagule.”
9 So he went out and started following him, not realizing that what the angel was doing was real; he supposed he was seeing a vision.
A Petili gubhankagwile palanga, ikabheje bhakamumanyaga yatendwaga naka malaika jula kuti puyaliji ya kweli, pubhaganishiyaga bhanaagamila.
10 Passing through the first and second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, that opened for them by itself; upon exiting they advanced one block, and suddenly the angel left him.
Bhakapitanjeje shikundi sha ndandubho na sha bhili sha ulinda, gubhaikengenenje kunnango gwa itale gwa jinjilila kunnjini. Nnango gula ukwiugulaga guyene gubhakopokenje palanga. Gubhalongenenje mumpanda gumo, kashokope malaika jula akwaalekega a Petili jikape.
11 When Peter had come to himself he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord sent His angel and delivered me out of Herod's hand and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.”
Penepo a Petili gubhang'amwile itendeshe ila gubhashite, “Nnaino nimumanyi kweli kuti Bhakulungwa bhashikuntuma malaika jwabho kwiya njoya mmakono ga a Elode na gowe gubhalolelangaga Bhayaudi.”
12 Upon reflection he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John (the one called Mark), where a considerable number had gathered and were praying.
Bhakagamanyeje genego gubhapite mpaka kwa a Malia anyinabhabho a Yowana bhashemwaga a Maliko. Na mwenemo bhandunji bhabhagwinji bhashinkuimananga nkujuga Nnungu.
13 When Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer.
A Petili gubhaolishiye pannango, ntumishi jumo jwankongwe lina lyakwe Loda gwapite pilikanishiya.
14 Upon recognizing Peter's voice, she was so glad she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter was standing before the gate!
Mwali jula akamanyeje kuti lilobhe lila lya a Petili gwainonyele kwa kaje. Jwangaugula nnango gula, ikabhe gwabhutwishe kukwalugulilanga kuti a Petili pubhali pannango.
15 But they said to her, “You're crazy!” but she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.”
Gubhammalanjilenje mwali jula, “Ushikola shalubha!” Ikabheje jwalakwe gwapundile kukong'ondela kuti kweli. Gubhammalanjilenje bhalinkutinji, “Jwenejo malaika jwabho.”
16 But Peter kept on knocking; so when they opened the door and saw him, they were astounded.
A Petili gubhapundile kuolishiya. Kungai gubhaaugulilenje nnango, bhakaabhonanjeje gubhakanganigwenje.
17 Motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he related to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. Then he said, “Tell these things to James and the brothers.” And going out he went off to a different place.
A Petili gubhaagolosheyenje makono nkupinga bhapumulanje, gubhatalashiye Bhakulungwa shibhashite kwashoya nnigelesha. Kungai gubhaalugulilenje bhapelekanje ntenga kwa a Yakobho na ashaapwabho bhananji, gubhajabhwile kwenda mmbali jina.
18 Now as soon as it was day, there was no small commotion among the soldiers about what had become of Peter!
Kukasheje, ashimanjola gubhakwetenje lipamba lya kaje nndi yaapatile a Petili?
19 Well after searching for him and not finding him, Herod examined the guards and ordered that they be executed. Going down from Judea to Caesarea, he stayed there.
A Elode gubhaamulishe bhaloleywe, ikabheje bhangaapatanga. Kwa nneyo gubhaamulishe ashimanjola bhala bhabhuywanje na bhabhulagwanje. Kungai a Elode gubhajabhwile ku Yudea, gubhapite tama ku Kaishalia.
20 Now Herod was very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; so they came with one accord to him, and having won over Blastus, the king's chamberlain, they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food from the king's.
A Elode bhashinkwatumbalilanga bhandu bha ku Tilo na ku Shidoni, ikabheje bhalabhonji gubhaatumilenje bhantenga. Gubhapanjilenje mbwiga na a Bhulashito bhaliji bhakulungwa bha nyumba ja bhakulungwa. Kungai gubhaajendele a Elode kukwajuga kubhe na ulele. Pabha shilambo shabhonji kubhakulupalilangaga kupata shalya kushilambo sha bhakulungwa a Elode.
21 So on an appointed day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on the throne and started to deliver an address to them.
Lyubha libhatumbilile, a Elode bhali bhawalile ngubho yabho ya upalume, gubhatemi pa shitengu shabho sha upalume gubhatandwibhe kwaalungushiyanga bhandunji.
22 But the crowd started calling out, “The voice of a god and not of a man!”
Bhandunji bhala gubhajobhelenje nkwalumbilila bhalinkutinji, “Lyeneli lilobhe lya a nnungu, nngabha lika mundu.”
23 Immediately an angel of the Lord struck him down, because he did not give glory to God, and being eaten by worms, he died.
Shangupe malaika jwa Bhakulungwa akwaagwiyaga pai a Elode kwa ligongo lyangapinga kwaapa a Nnungu Ukulungwa gwabho. Gubhaligwilwe na mbiu, gubhawile.
24 And the Word of God kept growing and multiplying.
Lilobhe lya a Nnungu gulipundile kushuma.
25 Now Barnabas and Saul returned to Antioch, having fulfilled their mission, also taking with them John, the one called Mark.
A Bhanabha na a Shauli bhakamaliyanjeje liengo lyabhonji, gubhabhujilenje kukopoka ku Yelushalemu, gubhaatolilenje a Yowana bhashemwaga a Maliko gubhalongene nabhonji.
