2 Thessalonians 1
1 Paul, Silvanus and Timothy, to the congregation of the Thessalonians in God our Father and Sovereign Jesus Christ:
Paulus, Silvanus und Timotheus begrüßen die Gemeinde in Thessalonich, die mit Gott unserem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus in Gemeinschaft steht.
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and Sovereign Jesus Christ.
Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott dem Vater und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!
3 We are obligated to always give thanks to God about you, brothers, and properly so, because your faith is really growing, and the love of each and every one of you towards each other keeps increasing;
Wir sind Gott allezeit euretwegen Dank schuldig, liebe Brüder. Das ist recht und billig. Denn euer Glaube wächst außerordentlich, und die brüderliche Liebe mehrt sich bei jedem einzelnen von euch allen.
4 so that we ourselves boast about you among God's congregations, referring to your steadfastness and faith in the midst of all your persecutions, and the tribulations that you are enduring
Darum rühmen wir uns euer auch in den Gemeinden Gottes wegen eurer Standhaftigkeit und Glaubenstreue in allen Verfolgungen und Trübsalen, die ihr auszuhalten habt.
5 —the above is evidence that God's judgment is right, to the end that you be considered worthy of the Kingdom of God, on behalf of which you are actually suffering;
Weil ihr so leiden müßt, läßt sich erwarten, daß Gott einst jenen gerechten Urteilsspruch fällen wird, wodurch euch das Königreich Gottes, für das ihr duldet als Belohnung zuerkannt werden soll.
6 since to God it is right to pay back affliction to those who are afflicting you
Denn es entspricht Gottes Gerechtigkeit, daß er denen, die euch Trübsal bereiten, Trübsal vergelte,
7 and rest (along with us) to you who are being afflicted, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with His powerful angels in blazing fire,
euch aber, die ihr Trübsal leidet, zugleich mit uns Erquickung zum Lohn schenke. Das soll geschehen, wenn sich der Herr Jesus mit seinem Engelheer vom Himmel aus
8 inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ,
in Feuerflammen offenbart, um die zu strafen, die Gott nicht kennen und der Frohen Botschaft unseres Herrn Jesus keinen Glauben schenken.
9 who will pay a penalty: everlasting ruin, away from the face of the Lord and from the glory of His might, (aiōnios g166)
Ihr Lohn wird ewiges Verderben sein: sie werden verstoßen von des Herrn Angesicht und von der Herrlichkeit, die er durch seine Macht bereitet hat. (aiōnios g166)
10 whenever He comes to be glorified by His saints, yes to be marveled at by all who have believed (because our testimony to you was believed); in that Day.
(Dies Urteil wird sie treffen) an jenem Tag, wenn er kommt, um herrlich zu erscheinen in seinen Heiligen und bewundernswert in allen Gläubigen. (Zu diesen zählt auch ihr.) Denn unser Zeugnis, das an euch ergangen ist, habt ihr im Glauben aufgenommen.
11 To this end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of the calling and fulfill with power every desire of usefulness and work of faith,
Darum beten wir auch allezeit für euch, unser Gott möge euch des Heils, wozu er euch berufen hat, auch wert erachten und durch seine Kraft das Wohlgefallen an allem Guten und jenes Wirken, das aus dem Glauben kommt, zur Vollendung bei euch bringen.
12 so that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Dann wird der Name unseres Herrn Jesus sich in euch verherrlichen, und ihr sollt in ihm verherrlicht werden: so will es die Gnade unseres Gottes und des Herrn Jesus Christus.
