2 Peter 3
1 Dear ones, this is now a second letter I am writing to you (in both of which I stir up your sincere mind by way of reminder),
हे प्रियतमाः, यूयं यथा पवित्रभविष्यद्वक्तृभिः पूर्व्वोक्तानि वाक्यानि त्रात्रा प्रभुना प्रेरितानाम् अस्माकम् आदेशञ्च सारथ तथा युष्मान् स्मारयित्वा
2 so that you remember the words that were spoken before by the holy prophets and the command of the Lord and Savior, through your apostles.
युष्माकं सरलभावं प्रबोधयितुम् अहं द्वितीयम् इदं पत्रं लिखामि।
3 Knowing this first: in the last days mockers will come, living according to their own lusts
प्रथमं युष्माभिरिदं ज्ञायतां यत् शेषे काले स्वेच्छाचारिणो निन्दका उपस्थाय
4 and saying: “Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
वदिष्यन्ति प्रभोरागमनस्य प्रतिज्ञा कुत्र? यतः पितृलोकानां महानिद्रागमनात् परं सर्व्वाणि सृष्टेरारम्भकाले यथा तथैवावतिष्ठन्ते।
5 This because they deliberately ignore that heavens and land (out of water and through water) had been existing from of old by the word of God,
पूर्व्वम् ईश्वरस्य वाक्येनाकाशमण्डलं जलाद् उत्पन्ना जले सन्तिष्ठमाना च पृथिव्यविद्यतैतद् अनिच्छुकतातस्ते न जानान्ति,
6 by which word the world that then was perished, being flooded by water.
ततस्तात्कालिकसंसारो जलेनाप्लावितो विनाशं गतः।
7 But the current heavens, and the earth, are being reserved by His word for fire, being preserved until the day of judgment and perdition of godless men.
किन्त्वधुना वर्त्तमाने आकाशभूमण्डले तेनैव वाक्येन वह्न्यर्थं गुप्ते विचारदिनं दुष्टमानवानां विनाशञ्च यावद् रक्ष्यते।
8 But dear ones, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
हे प्रियतमाः, यूयम् एतदेकं वाक्यम् अनवगता मा भवत यत् प्रभोः साक्षाद् दिनमेकं वर्षसहस्रवद् वर्षसहस्रञ्च दिनैकवत्।
9 The Lord is not delaying the promise, as some consider delay, but rather is patient toward us, not wishing anyone to perish but all to come into repentance.
केचिद् यथा विलम्बं मन्यन्ते तथा प्रभुः स्वप्रतिज्ञायां विलम्बते तन्नहि किन्तु कोऽपि यन्न विनश्येत् सर्व्वं एव मनःपरावर्त्तनं गच्छेयुरित्यभिलषन् सो ऽस्मान् प्रति दीर्घसहिष्णुतां विदधाति।
10 However, the day of the Lord will come like a thief at night, in which heavens will pass away with a whoosh, while the elements will be dissolved by burning—both the earth and the works in it will be completely consumed.
किन्तु क्षपायां चौर इव प्रभो र्दिनम् आगमिष्यति तस्मिन् महाशब्देन गगनमण्डलं लोप्स्यते मूलवस्तूनि च तापेन गलिष्यन्ते पृथिवी तन्मध्यस्थितानि कर्म्माणि च धक्ष्यन्ते।
11 Therefore, since all these things will be destroyed, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness,
अतः सर्व्वैरेतै र्विकारे गन्तव्ये सति यस्मिन् आकाशमण्डलं दाहेन विकारिष्यते मूलवस्तूनि च तापेन गलिष्यन्ते
12 expecting and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which heavens, being on fire, will be dissolved, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?
तस्येश्वरदिनस्यागमनं प्रतीक्षमाणैराकाङ्क्षमाणैश्च यूष्माभि र्धर्म्माचारेश्वरभक्तिभ्यां कीदृशै र्लोकै र्भवितव्यं?
13 Nevertheless, we look for new heavens and a new earth in which dwells righteousness, according to His promise.
तथापि वयं तस्य प्रतिज्ञानुसारेण धर्म्मस्य वासस्थानं नूतनम् आकाशमण्डलं नूतनं भूमण्डलञ्च प्रतीक्षामहे।
14 Therefore, dear ones, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, faultless and blameless;
अतएव हे प्रियतमाः, तानि प्रतीक्षमाणा यूयं निष्कलङ्का अनिन्दिताश्च भूत्वा यत् शान्त्याश्रितास्तिष्ठथैतस्मिन् यतध्वं।
15 and consider the longsuffering of our Lord to be salvation—just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you, according to the wisdom given to him,
अस्माकं प्रभो र्दीर्घसहिष्णुताञ्च परित्राणजनिकां मन्यध्वं। अस्माकं प्रियभ्रात्रे पौलाय यत् ज्ञानम् अदायि तदनुसारेण सोऽपि पत्रे युष्मान् प्रति तदेवालिखत्।
16 as also in all his epistles (speaking in them of these things, about which there are some things hard to understand), which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.
स्वकीयसर्व्वपत्रेषु चैतान्यधि प्रस्तुत्य तदेव गदति। तेषु पत्रेषु कतिपयानि दुरूह्याणि वाक्यानि विद्यन्ते ये च लोका अज्ञानाश्चञ्चलाश्च ते निजविनाशार्थम् अन्यशास्त्रीयवचनानीव तान्यपि विकारयन्ति।
17 You therefore, dear ones, being forewarned, be on guard lest, being carried away by the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness.
तस्माद् हे प्रियतमाः, यूयं पूर्व्वं बुद्ध्वा सावधानास्तिष्ठत, अधार्म्मिकाणां भ्रान्तिस्रोतसापहृताः स्वकीयसुस्थिरत्वात् मा भ्रश्यत।
