1 Timothy 2
1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men
Ngakho kuqala kukho konke ngikhuthaza ukuthi ukunxusa, imikhuleko, ukulabhela, ukubonga kwenzelwe abantu bonke;
2 —on behalf of kings and all who are in authority, that we may live a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
amakhosi, labo bonke abayiziphathamandla, ukuze sichithe impilo elokuthula lepholileyo kukho konke ukukhonza uNkulunkulu lenhlonipho;
3 Because this is good and pleasing to our Savior God,
ngoba lokhu kuhle kuyemukeleka phambi kukaNkulunkulu uMsindisi wethu,
4 who desires all men to be saved and to come into a real knowledge of Truth.
ofuna ukuthi bonke abantu basindiswe njalo beze elwazini lweqiniso.
5 For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men—a man!—Jesus Christ,
Ngoba munye uNkulunkulu, njalo munye umlamuli phakathi kukaNkulunkulu labantu, umuntu uKristu Jesu,
6 who gave Himself as a ransom on behalf of all people (to be testified in its own seasons),
owazinikela yena ukuba lihlawulo labo bonke, ubufakazi ngezikhathi ezifaneleyo,
7 to which ransom I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying—a teacher of nations in faith and truth.

8 So I desire that the men in every place pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.
Ngakho ngifisa ukuthi amadoda akhuleke kuyo yonke indawo, ephakamisa izandla ezingcwele, engelalaka lokuxabana.
9 Similarly the women also, dressing themselves in appropriate clothing, with modesty and good sense; not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
Ngokunjalo labesifazana bazicecise ngezigqoko ezifaneleyo, lenhlonipho lokuqonda, kungabi ngenwele ezelukiweyo, kumbe igolide, kumbe amapharele, kumbe izembatho ezidulayo,
10 but with good works, which is appropriate to women who profess godliness.
kodwa, okufanele abesifazana abathi bakhonza uNkulunkulu, ngemisebenzi emihle.
11 Let a woman learn in silence, in full subordination.
Owesifazana kafunde ngokuthula ekuzithobeni konke.
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.
Kodwa kangivumeli owesifazana ukuthi afundise, kumbe abe lamandla phezu kowesilisa, kodwa abe ekuthuleni.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
Ngoba uAdamu wabunjwa kuqala, emva kwalokho uEva;
14 Also, Adam was not deceived; rather, the woman, being deceived, became a transgressor.
futhi uAdamu kakhohliswanga, kodwa owesifazana esekhohlisiwe waba sesiphambekweni,
15 However, she will be saved through the Childbirth—if they continue in faith, love and holiness, with self-control.
kodwa uzasindiswa ngokuzala abantwana, uba behlala ekholweni lethandweni lebungcweleni kanye lokuqonda.
