1 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, Silvanus and Timothy, to the congregation of Thessalonians in God the Father and Sovereign Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and Sovereign Jesus Christ.

Pablo, y Silvano, y Timoteo, a la iglesia de los Tesalonicenses, que es en Dios el Padre, y en el Señor Jesu Cristo. Gracia a vosotros, y paz de Dios Padre nuestro, y d el Señor Jesu Cristo.

2 We always give thanks to God for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers,

Damos siempre gracias a Dios por todos vosotros, haciendo memoria de vosotros en nuestras oraciones:

3 continually remembering before our God and Father your work for the Faith and your labor coming from the Love and your perseverance based on the Hope, our Lord Jesus Christ being their source,

Sin cesar acordándonos de vuestra obra de fe, y trabajo de amor, y paciencia de esperanza en el Señor nuestro Jesu Cristo, delante del Dios y Padre nuestro:

4 knowing as we do, brothers loved by God, that you are chosen.

Sabiendo, hermanos, amados de Dios, vuestra elección;

5 You see, our Gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with complete certainty (of course you know what sort of men we proved to be among you for your sake).

Por cuanto nuestro evangelio no vino a vosotros en palabra solamente, mas también en potencia, y en el Espíritu Santo, y en muy cierta persuasión: como sabéis cuales fuimos entre vosotros por amor de vosotros.

6 Yes you became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the Word with the Holy Spirit's joy, in spite of severe affliction,

Y vosotros fuisteis hechos imitadores de nosotros, y del Señor, recibiendo la palabra en mucha tribulación, con gozo del Espíritu Santo:

7 so that you became examples to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.

En tal manera que hayáis sido ejemplo a todos los que han creído en Macedonia, y en Acaya.

8 That is because the Word of the Lord sounded out from you, not only in Macedonia and Achaia but also in every place—your faith toward God has gone forth, so that we do not need to say anything.

Porque por vosotros ha resonado la palabra del Señor, no solo en Macedonia, y en Acaya, mas aun en todo lugar vuestra fe, que es en Dios, se ha extendido de tal manera que no tengamos necesidad de hablar nada.

9 They themselves report about you what kind of entrance we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to be slaves to the living and true God,

Porque ellos cuentan de nosotros cual entrada tuvimos a vosotros; y de qué manera fuisteis convertidos de los ídolos a Dios, para servir al Dios vivo y verdadero;

10 and to wait for His Son coming out of the heavens (whom He raised from among the dead)—Jesus, who preserves us from the coming wrath.

Y para esperar a su hijo de los cielos, al cual él levantó de los muertos, es a saber, Jesús, el cual nos libró de la ira que ha de venir.
