1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,
ⲁ̅ⲠⲈⲦⲢⲞⲤ ⲠⲀⲠⲞⲤⲦⲞⲖⲞⲤ ⲚⲦⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲚⲚⲒⲤⲰⲦⲠ ⲈⲦϢⲞⲠ ϨⲒ ⲠϢⲈⲘⲘⲞ ⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒϪⲰⲢ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲞⲚⲦⲞⲤ ⲦⲄⲀⲖⲀⲦⲒⲀ ⲦⲔⲀⲠⲠⲞⲆⲞⲔⲒⲀ ϮⲀⲤⲒⲀ ⲚⲈⲘ ϮⲂⲎⲐⲀⲚⲒⲀ.
2 elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the setting apart of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
ⲃ̅ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲞⲨϢⲞⲢⲠ ⲚⲈⲘⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲪⲒⲰⲦ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒⲦⲞⲨⲂⲞ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲒⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲈⲨⲤⲰϮ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲚⲞⲨϪϦ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲤⲚⲞϤ ⲚⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲠⲈⲚϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲠϨⲘⲞⲦ ⲚⲈⲘ ϮϨⲒⲢⲎⲚⲎ ⲈⲨⲈⲀϢⲀⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has given us another birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead,
ⲅ̅ϤⲤⲘⲀⲢⲰⲞⲨⲦ ⲚϪⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲪⲒⲰⲦ ⲘⲠⲈⲚϬⲞⲒⲤ ⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲠⲀϢⲀⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲈϤⲚⲀⲒ ⲀϤϪⲪⲞⲚ ⲈϦⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲞⲨϨⲈⲖⲠⲒⲤ ⲚⲰⲚϦ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲈⲚ ⲠⲦⲰⲚϤ ⲚⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲎ ⲈⲐⲘⲰⲞⲨⲦ
4 into an imperishable and undefiled and unfading inheritance, already reserved in the heavens for you,
ⲇ̅ⲈϦⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲞⲨⲔⲖⲎⲢⲞⲚⲞⲘⲒⲀ ⲚⲀⲦⲦⲀⲔⲞ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲀⲦϬⲰϦⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲀⲦⲖⲰⲘ ⲈⲨⲀⲢⲈϨ ⲈⲢⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲒⲪⲎⲞⲨⲒ
5 who are being guarded by the power of God through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
ⲉ̅ϦⲀ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲞⲨⲢⲰⲒⲤ ⲈⲢⲰⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨϪⲞⲘ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲈⲚ ⲪⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲨⲞⲨϪⲀⲒ ⲈϤⲤⲈⲂⲦⲰⲦ ⲈϤⲚⲀϬⲰⲢⲠ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲒⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲚϦⲀⲈ
6 You should be overjoyed about this, even if just now, briefly, of necessity, you have been distressed by a variety of trials,
ⲋ̅ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲐⲈⲖⲎⲖ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ⲠⲢⲞⲤ ⲞⲨⲔⲞⲨϪⲒ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ⲒⲤϪⲈ ⲤϢⲈ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϬⲒⲘⲔⲀϨ ⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚϨⲀⲚⲠⲒⲢⲀⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲞⲨⲘⲎϢ ⲚⲢⲎϮ
7 so that the demonstrated genuineness of your faith (much more precious than gold that perishes, albeit tested through fire) may translate into praise, glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ
ⲍ̅ϨⲒⲚⲀ ⲚⲦⲈⲐⲘⲈⲦⲤⲰⲦⲠ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϨϮ ⲚⲦⲈⲤϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲈⲤⲦⲀⲒⲎⲞⲨⲦ ⲈϨⲞⲦⲈ ⲠⲒⲚⲞⲨⲂ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲦⲀⲔⲞ ⲈⲨⲈⲢⲆⲞⲔⲒⲘⲀⲌⲒⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲈⲚ ⲞⲨⲬⲢⲰⲘ ⲚⲦⲞⲨϪⲈⲘ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨϢⲞⲨϢⲞⲨ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨⲦⲀⲒⲞ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒϬⲰⲢⲠ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚⲦⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲤ
8 —whom not having understood you love, into whom believing (not yet seeing) you exult with joy inexpressible, already glorified,
ⲏ̅ⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲤⲰⲞⲨⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲀⲚ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲀⲄⲀⲠⲀⲚ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲪⲀⲒ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲀⲚ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϨϮ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ⲐⲈⲖⲎ ⲖϦⲈⲚ ⲞⲨⲢⲀϢⲒ ⲚⲀⲦϢⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲘⲘⲞϤ ⲈⲀϤϬⲒⲰⲞⲨ.
9 obtaining for yourselves the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
ⲑ̅ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϬⲒ ⲘⲠϪⲰⲔ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϨϮ ⲪⲚⲞϨⲈⲘ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲮⲨⲬⲎ.
10 Concerning this salvation the prophets, who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and inquired diligently,
ⲓ̅ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲪⲀⲒ ⲚⲞϨⲈⲘ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲀⲨⲔⲰϮ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲒⲠⲢⲞⲪⲎⲦⲎⲤ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲨϦⲞⲦϦⲈⲦ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲈⲢⲠⲢⲞⲪⲎ ⲦⲈⲨⲒⲚ ϦⲀ ⲠⲒϨⲘⲞⲦ ⲈⲦⲀϤϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ.
11 investigating into whom, or what sort of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating as He testified beforehand the sufferings that would be inflicted on Christ and the glories that would follow them.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲈⲨϦⲞⲦϦⲈⲦ ⲚⲤⲀⲠⲒⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲈⲦⲀ ⲠⲒⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲚⲦⲈⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚϦⲎⲦⲞⲨ ⲈⲀⲨⲈⲢϢⲞⲢⲠ ⲚⲈⲢⲘⲈⲐⲢⲈ ϦⲀ ⲚⲒⲘⲔⲀⲨϨ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲬⲢⲒⲤⲦⲞⲤ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲚⲒⲰⲞⲨ ⲈⲐⲚⲎⲞⲨ ⲘⲈⲚⲈⲚⲤⲀ ⲚⲀⲒ.
12 It was revealed to them that they were not ministering these things to themselves, but to you; which things have now been announced to you by those who proclaimed the gospel to you, with the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things that angels really desire to look into.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲨϬⲰⲢⲠ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϪⲈ ⲚⲀⲨⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲘⲞⲤ ⲚⲰⲞⲨ ⲀⲚ ⲚⲀⲨⲈⲢⲆⲒⲀⲔⲰⲚⲒⲚ ⲆⲈ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲚⲀⲒ ϮⲚⲞⲨ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲦⲀⲘⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲢⲰⲞⲨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦⲞⲨ ⲚⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲀⲨϨⲒϢⲈⲚⲚⲞⲨϤⲒ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲠⲚⲈⲨⲘⲀⲈϤⲞⲨⲀⲂ ⲈⲀⲨⲞⲨⲞⲢⲠϤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲦⲪⲈ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲦⲈ ⲞⲨⲞⲚ ϨⲀⲚⲀⲄⲄⲈⲖⲞⲤ ⲈⲢⲈⲠⲒⲐⲨⲘⲒⲚ ⲈⲚⲀⲨ ⲈⲢⲰⲞⲨ
13 Therefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, staying sober, rest your hope fully upon the grace being brought to you in the revelation of Jesus Christ—
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲈⲐⲂⲈⲪⲀⲒ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚϦⲈⲔ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ϨⲒϪⲈⲚ ⲚⲒϮⲠⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚϨⲎⲦ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲢⲎⲤ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨϪⲰⲔ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲀⲢⲒϨⲈⲖⲠⲒⲤ ⲈⲠⲒϨⲘⲞⲦ ⲈⲦⲞⲨⲚⲀⲈⲚϤ ⲚⲰⲦⲈⲚ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲒϬⲰⲢⲠ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚⲦⲈⲒⲎⲤⲞⲨⲤ ⲠⲬⲤ
14 as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts as in your ignorance,
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚϨⲀⲚϢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲠⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲒ ⲚϢⲪⲎⲢ ⲚⲤⲘⲞⲦ ⲀⲚ ⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲒⲈⲠⲒⲐⲨⲘⲒⲀ ⲚⲦⲈϢⲞⲢⲠ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲚⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲢⲒ ⲘⲘⲰⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲀⲦⲈⲘⲒ.
15 but just as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your way of life,
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲘⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲐⲀϨⲈⲘ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲈⲞⲨⲀⲄⲒⲞⲤ ⲠⲈ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ϨⲰⲦⲈⲚ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲀⲂ ϦⲈⲚϪⲒⲚⲘⲞϢⲒ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ
16 because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲎⲒ ⲄⲀⲢ ⲤⲤϦⲎⲞⲨⲦ ϪⲈ ϢⲰⲠⲒ ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲀⲂ ϪⲈ ⲀⲚⲞⲔ ϨⲰ ϮⲞⲨⲀⲂ
17 Also, since you invoke as Father the One who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves during the time of your sojourn here in fear,
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲒⲤϪⲈ ⲪⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀϮϨⲀⲠ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲀⲦϪⲞⲨϢⲦ ⲈϨⲞ ⲈⲠⲒⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲠⲒⲞⲨⲀⲒ ⲔⲀⲦⲀ ⲚⲈϤϨⲂⲎⲞⲨⲒ ⲀⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀⲘⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲢⲞϤ ϪⲈ ⲠⲈⲚⲒⲰⲦ ⲠⲒⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲘⲈⲦⲢⲈⲘⲚϪⲰⲒⲖⲒ ⲘⲞϢⲒ ⲚϦⲎⲦϤ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨϨⲞϮ.
18 knowing that it was not with perishable things (silver or gold) that you were redeemed from the futile way of life handed down by your forefathers,
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲘⲒ ϪⲈ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲤⲈⲦ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲀⲚ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲚⲞⲨⲂ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲞⲨϨⲀⲦ ⲚⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲦⲀⲔⲞ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲀ ⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚϪⲒⲚⲘⲞϢⲒ ⲈⲦϢⲞⲨⲰⲞⲨ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲦⲎ ⲒϤ ⲚⲦⲈⲚ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲚϪⲈⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲒⲞϮ
19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a faultless and pure lamb;
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ⲈⲦⲀⲨⲤⲈⲦ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲈⲚ ⲞⲨⲤⲚⲞϤ ⲈϤⲦⲀⲒⲎⲞⲨⲦ ⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚⲞⲨϨⲒⲎⲂ ⲚⲀⲦⲀϬⲚⲒ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲚⲀⲦⲐⲰⲖⲈⲂ ⲠⲬⲤ
20 who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake,
ⲕ̅ⲈⲀⲨⲈⲢϢⲞⲢⲠ ⲘⲈⲚ ⲚⲤⲞⲨⲰⲚϤ ⲒⲤϪⲈⲚ ⲦⲔⲀⲦⲀⲂⲞⲖⲎ ⲘⲠⲒⲔⲞⲤⲘⲞⲤ ⲈⲀϤⲞⲨⲰⲚϨ ⲆⲈ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲈⲠϦⲀⲈ ⲚⲦⲈⲚⲒⲤⲎⲞⲨ ⲈⲐⲂⲈ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ
21 who through Him are believing into God, who raised Him out from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are into God.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲚⲎ ⲈⲐⲚⲀϨϮ ⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲘⲪⲎ ⲈⲦⲀϤⲦⲞⲨⲚⲞⲤϤ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϦⲈⲚⲚⲎ ⲈⲐⲘⲰⲞⲨⲦ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀϤϮⲰⲞⲨ ⲚⲀϤ ϨⲰⲤⲦⲈ ⲠⲈⲦⲈⲚⲚⲀϨϮ ⲚⲈⲘ ⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚϨⲈⲖⲠⲒⲤ ⲚⲦⲞⲨϢⲰⲠⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲪϮ
22 Since you have purified your souls by obeying the truth through the Spirit, resulting in sincere brotherly love, you must love one another fervently from a pure heart,
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲈⲢⲈⲦⲈⲚⲦⲞⲨⲂⲞ ⲚⲦⲈⲦⲈⲚⲮⲨⲬⲎ ⲚϦⲢⲎⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲠⲤⲰⲦⲈⲘ ⲚⲦⲈϮⲘⲈⲐⲘⲎⲒ ⲈϦⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲘⲀⲒⲤⲞⲚ ⲚⲀⲦⲘⲈⲦϢⲞⲂⲒ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨϨⲎⲦ ⲈϤⲞⲨⲀⲂ ⲘⲈⲚⲢⲈ ⲚⲈⲦⲈⲚⲈⲢⲎⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲘⲞⲨⲚ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ
23 having been begotten again, not from a corruptible seed but an incorruptible, through the living Word of God that remains valid forever. (aiōn )
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲈⲀⲨⲘⲈⲤ ⲐⲎⲚⲞⲨ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨϪⲒⲚⲤⲒϮ ⲀⲚ ⲈⲐⲚⲀⲦⲀⲔⲞ ⲀⲖⲖⲀ ϦⲈⲚⲞⲨⲘⲈⲦⲀⲦⲦⲀⲔⲞ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ϨⲒⲦⲞⲦϤ ⲘⲠⲒⲤⲀϪⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲪⲚⲞⲨϮ ⲈⲦⲞⲚϦ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲈⲦϢⲞⲠ (aiōn )
24 For: “All flesh is as grass, and all man's glory as flower of grass. The grass withers and its flower falls off, but the Lord's word endures forever.”
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ϪⲈ ⲞⲨⲎⲒ ⲤⲀⲢⲜ ⲚⲒⲂⲈⲚ ⲀⲨⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚⲞⲨⲤⲰⲞⲨⲂⲈⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲠⲈⲤⲰⲞⲨ ⲦⲎⲢϤ ⲀⲤⲘⲪⲢⲎϮ ⲚⲞⲨϨⲢⲎⲢⲒ ⲚⲦⲈⲞⲨⲤⲰⲞⲨⲂⲈⲚ ⲀϤϢⲰⲞⲨⲒ ⲚϪⲈⲠⲒⲤⲰⲞⲨⲂⲈⲚ ⲞⲨⲞϨ ⲀⲤϨⲈⲒ ⲈⲂⲞⲖ ⲚϪⲈⲦⲈϤϨⲢⲎⲢⲒ
25 Now this is the good word that was proclaimed to you. (aiōn )
