Zechariah 3
1 And the Lord shewed me Jesus the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord: and Satan stood on his right hand to be his adversary.
Kisha akanionyesha Yoshua, kuhani mkuu, akiwa amesimama mbele ya malaika wa Bwana, naye Shetani amesimama upande wake wa kuume ili amshtaki.
2 And the Lord said to Satan: The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan: and the Lord that chose Jerusalem rebuke thee: Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
Bwana akamwambia Shetani, “Bwana akukemee Shetani! Bwana, ambaye ameichagua Yerusalemu, akukemee! Je, mtu huyu siyo kijinga kinachowaka kilichonyakuliwa kwenye moto?”
3 And Jesus was clothed with filthy garments: and he stood before the face of the angel.
Wakati huu, Yoshua alikuwa amevaa nguo chafu alipokuwa amesimama mbele ya malaika.
4 Who answered, and said to them that stood before him, saying: Take away the filthy garments from him. And he said to him: Behold I have taken away thy iniquity, and have clothed thee with change of garments.
Malaika akawaambia wale waliokuwa wamesimama mbele yake, “Mvueni hizo nguo zake chafu.” Kisha akamwambia Yoshua, “Tazama, nimeiondoa dhambi yako, nami nitakuvika mavazi ya kitajiri.”
5 And he said: Put a clean mitre upon his head: and they put a clean mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments, and the angel of the Lord stood.
Kisha nikasema, “Mvike kilemba kilicho safi kichwani mwake.” Kwa hiyo wakamvika kilemba safi kichwani na kumvika yale mavazi mengine, wakati malaika wa Bwana akiwa amesimama karibu.
6 And the angel of the Lord protested to Jesus, saying:
Malaika wa Bwana akamwamuru Yoshua:
7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts: If thou wilt walk in my ways, and Beep my charge, thou also shalt judge my house, and shalt keep my courts, and I will give thee some of them that are now present here to walk with thee.
“Hivi ndivyo asemavyo Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote: ‘Ikiwa utakwenda katika njia zangu na kushika masharti yangu, basi utaitawala nyumba yangu na kuwa na amri juu ya nyua zangu, nami nitakupa nafasi miongoni mwa hawa wasimamao hapa.
8 Hear, O Jesus thou high priest, then and thy friends that dwell before thee, for they are portending men: for behold I WILL BRING MY SERVANT THE ORIENT.
“‘Sikiliza, ee Yoshua kuhani mkuu, pamoja na wenzako walioketi mbele yako, ambao ni watu walio ishara ya mambo yatakayokuja: Ninakwenda kumleta mtumishi wangu, Tawi.
9 For behold the stone that I have laid before Jesus: upon one stone there are seven eyes: behold I will grave the graving thereof, saith the Lord of hosts: and I will take away the iniquity of that land in one day.
Tazama, jiwe nililoliweka mbele ya Yoshua! Kuna macho saba juu ya jiwe lile moja, nami nitachora maandishi juu yake,’ asema Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote, ‘nami nitaiondoa dhambi ya nchi hii kwa siku moja.
10 In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, every man shell call his friend under the vine and under the fig tree.
“‘Katika siku hiyo kila mmoja wenu atamwalika jirani yake akae chini ya mzabibu wake na mtini wake,’ asema Bwana Mwenye Nguvu Zote.”
