< Romans 13 >
1 Let every soul be subject to higher powers: for there is no power but from God: and those that are, are ordained of God.
Ngʼato ka ngʼato nyaka winj joma nigi teko mar loch, nimar onge loch mantie, makmana mano ma Nyasaye ema oketo. Joma ni e loch duto Nyasaye ema oketo.
2 Therefore he that resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God. And they that resist, purchase to themselves damnation.
Omiyo, ngʼama otamore winjo joma ni e loch, to otamore winjo gima Nyasaye ema oketo, kendo joma timo kamano biro yudo kum kuomgi giwegi.
3 For princes are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good: and thou shalt have praise from the same.
Nimar joma nigi loch ok ked gi joma timo maber makmana gi joma timo marach. Donge idwaro ni joma ni e loch kik miyi luoro? Kara tim gik mabeyo eka ginipaki.
4 For he is God’s minister to thee, for good. But if thou do that which is evil, fear: for he beareth not the sword in vain. For he is God’s minister: an avenger to execute wrath upon him that doth evil.
Nimar en jatich Nyasaye moketo mondo okonyi. To ka itimo marach, to bed abeda maluor nikech ok otingʼ ligangla kayiem! En jatich Nyasaye machulo kuor gi mirima kokumo ngʼama timo marach.
5 Wherefore be subject of necessity, not only for wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
Kuom mano, owinjore mondo ngʼato ka ngʼato owinj jorit loch, ok mana nikech inyalo yudo kum kende, to bende nikech chunyi neno ni mano ber.
6 For therefore also you pay tribute. For they are the ministers of God, serving unto this purpose.
Mano bende emomiyo uchulo osuru, nikech jorit loch gin jotich Nyasaye, kendo gichiwore ne tijno seche duto.
7 Render therefore to all men their dues. Tribute, to whom tribute is due: custom, to whom custom: fear, to whom fear: honour, to whom honour.
Miuru ji duto gik makorgi monego umigi kaka: Joma onego chul osuru; chuluru osuru; joma juogo chuluru pesa jwok; joma onego uluor, miuru luor, kendo joma onego umi duongʼ, miuru duongʼ.
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another. For he that loveth his neighbour, hath fulfilled the law.
Kik ubed gi gowi mar ngʼato, makmana gowi mar hera, nimar ngʼama ohero wadgi osechopo Chik.
9 For Thou shalt not commit adultery: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness: Thou shalt not covet: and if there be any other commandment, it is comprised in this word, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Chikego wacho niya, “Kik iterri, kik ineki, kik ikwal, kik igomb gir wadu,” kod chike mamoko duto moriw e chik achiel mawacho niya, “Her wadu kaka iherori iwuon.”
10 The love of our neighbour worketh no evil. Love therefore is the fulfilling of the law.
Hera ok tim gima rach ni wadgi. Kuom mano, hera ema ochopo chike duto.
11 And that knowing the season; that it is now the hour for us to rise from sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.
To timuru kamano ka uwinjo tiend gik matimore ndalogi. Sa osechopo mondo uchiew ua e nindo maru, nikech warruok marwa koro okayo machiegni moloyo chiengʼ mane wayie mokwongo.
12 The night is passed, and the day is at hand. Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and put on the armour of light.
Otieno chiegni rumo kendo ru piny chiegni. Omiyo waweuru timbe mag mudho, to wamanreuru gi gige lweny mag ler.
13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day: not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and impurities, not in contention and envy:
Wadaguru e ngima mobidhore kaka joma ni e ler mar odiechiengʼ, ka waweyo kit richo duto kaka, tugo e thum, mer, terruok, anjawo, dhawo kod nyiego.
14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh in its concupiscences.
Kar timo kamano, to rwakreuru gi Ruoth Yesu Kristo, kendo kik uchan e pachu kaka unyalo timo gik ma ringruok gombo.
