Romans 10
1 Brethren, the will of my heart, indeed, and my prayer to God, is for them unto salvation.
Meus irmãos e minhas irmãs, o desejo do meu coração, minha oração para Deus é pela salvação do povo de Israel!
2 For I bear them witness, that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
Eu sou testemunha de sua dedicação apaixonada a Deus, mas isso não é o resultado de conhecer a Deus como ele realmente é.
3 For they, not knowing the justice of God, and seeking to establish their own, have not submitted themselves to the justice of God.
Eles não entendem como Deus nos torna justos diante dele e, assim, tentam se tornar justos à maneira deles. Eles se recusam aceitar a maneira como Deus nos torna pessoas justas.
4 For the end of the law is Christ, unto justice to every one that believeth.
Pois Cristo é o cumprimento da lei. Todos aqueles que creem nele se tornam justos.
5 For Moses wrote, that the justice which is of the law, the man that shall do it, shall live by it.
Moisés escreveu: “Quem fizer o que é certo, ao obedecer à lei, viverá.”
6 But the justice which is of faith, speaketh thus: Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? that is, to bring Christ down;
Mas, a atitude de se fazer o que é certo, que surge da fé, diz assim: “Não pergunte: Quem subirá ao céu?, isto é, para trazer Cristo do céu,”
7 Or who shall descend into the deep? that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead. (Abyssos g12)
e nem diga: “‘Quem descerá ao mundo dos mortos?’, isto é, para ressuscitar Cristo.” (Abyssos g12)
8 But what saith the scripture? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart. This is the word of faith, which we preach.
O que as Sagradas Escrituras realmente dizem é: “A mensagem está muito próxima de você, na sua boca e na sua mente.” Na verdade, essa mensagem se baseia na fé que anunciamos.
9 For if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thy heart that God hath raised him up from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Pois se você declara que aceita Jesus como Senhor e crê que Deus o ressuscitou dos mortos, então, você será salvo.
10 For, with the heart, we believe unto justice; but, with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.
A sua fé em Deus o torna justo e, ao declarar que aceita Deus, você está salvo.
11 For the scripture saith: Whosoever believeth in him, shall not be confounded.
Como as Sagradas Escrituras nos dizem: “Aqueles que creem nele não se desapontarão.”
12 For there is no distinction of the Jew and the Greek: for the same is Lord over all, rich unto all that call upon him.
Não há diferença entre judeus e gregos, pois o mesmo Deus é o Senhor de todos, e esse Deus dá generosamente a todos que lhe pedem.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.
Pois “todos os que pedem em nome do Senhor serão salvos.”
14 How then shall they call on him, in whom they have not believed? Or how shall they believe him, of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear, without a preacher?
Mas, como as pessoas podem pedir a alguém em quem elas não creem? Como podem crer em alguém de quem elas não ouviram falar? Como elas podem ouvir, a menos que lhes falem a respeito?
15 And how shall they preach unless they be sent, as it is written: How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, of them that bring glad tidings of good things!
Como elas podem sair e anunciar a mensagem, a não ser que sejam enviadas? As Sagradas Escrituras assim dizem: “Aqueles que vêm trazendo as boas novas são verdadeiramente bem-vindos!”
16 But all do not obey the gospel. For Isaias saith: Lord, who hath believed our report?
Mas, nem todos aceitaram as boas novas. Como Isaías pergunta: “Senhor, quem creu nas boas novas que ouviu de nós?”
17 Faith then cometh by hearing; and hearing by the word of Christ.
A fé em Deus surge de se ouvir, de se ouvir a mensagem de Cristo.
18 But I say: Have they not heard? Yes, verily, their sound hath gone forth into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the whole world.
Não é que eles não tenham ouvido. É justamente o oposto: “As vozes daqueles que falam por Deus são ouvidas em todo o mundo, e a sua mensagem se espalhou por todos os cantos da terra.”
19 But I say: Hath not Israel known? First, Moses saith: I will provoke you to jealousy by that which is not a nation; by a foolish nation I will anger you.
Então, eu lhes pergunto: “O povo de Israel não sabia disso?” Primeiro Moisés disse: “Eu deixarei vocês com ciúmes, ao usar um povo que não é nem mesmo uma nação, eu os deixarei zangados ao usar os não-judeus sem juízo.”
20 But Isaias is bold, and saith: I was found by them that did not seek me: I appeared openly to them that asked not after me.
Então, Isaías disse isso de uma forma até mais dura: “Pessoas que nem me buscavam descobriram-me. Eu me revelei para aqueles que nem mesmo perguntavam por mim.”
21 But to Israel he saith: All the day long have I spread my hands to a people that believeth not, and contradicteth me.
Como Deus disse em relação ao povo de Israel: “O tempo todo estendi as minhas mãos a um povo desobediente e inflexível.”
