Revelation 7
1 After these things, I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that they should not blow upon the earth, nor upon the sea, nor on any tree.
Après cela je vis quatre anges debout aux quatre coins de la terre, retenant les quatre vents de la terre, afin qu'aucun vent ne soufflât, ni sur la mer, ni sur aucun arbre.
2 And I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the sign of the living God; and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Puis je vis un autre ange qui montait du côté où se lève le soleil, et qui tenait le sceau du Dieu vivant. Et il criait d'une voix forte aux quatre anges auxquels il avait été donné de faire du mal à la terre et à la mer,
3 Saying: Hurt not the earth, nor the sea, nor the trees, till we sign the servants of our God in their foreheads.
en disant: « Ne faites point de mal à la terre et à la mer, ni aux arbres, jusques à ce qu'avec le sceau nous ayons marqué au front les esclaves de notre Dieu. »
4 And I heard the number of them that were signed, an hundred forty-four thousand were signed, of every tribe of the children of Israel.
Il y eut cent quarante-quatre mille marqués, pris de chaque tribu des fils d'Israël:
5 Of the tribe of Juda, were twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Ruben, twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand signed:
De la tribu de Juda, douze mille marqués; de la tribu de Ruben, douze mille; de la tribu de Gad, douze mille;
6 Of the tribe of Aser, twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Nephthali, twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Manasses, twelve thousand signed:
de la tribu d'Aser, douze mille; de la tribu de Nephthalim, douze mille; de la tribu de Manassé, douze mille;
7 Of the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand signed:
de la tribu de Siméon, douze mille; de la tribu de Lévi, douze mille; de la tribu d'Issachar, douze mille;
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon, twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand signed: Of the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand signed.
de la tribu de Zabulon, douze mille; de la tribu de Joseph, douze mille; de la tribu de Benjamin, douze mille marqués.
9 After this I saw a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne, and in sight of the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands:
Après cela je vis une foule nombreuse, et personne ne pouvait la compter, tirée de chaque nation, et des tribus, des peuples, et des langues; ils se tenaient debout sur le trône et devant l'agneau, revêtus de robes blanches, et des palmes dans leurs mains; et ils s'écrient d'une voix forte:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying: Salvation to our God, who sitteth upon the throne, and to the Lamb.
« Le salut de notre Dieu appartient à Celui qui est assis sur le trône et à l'agneau. »
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and the ancients, and the four living creatures; and they fell down before the throne upon their faces, and adored God,
Et tous les anges se tenaient debout autour du trône et des anciens et des quatre animaux, et ils se prosternèrent devant le trône sur leurs visages et ils adorèrent Dieu en disant:
12 Saying: Amen. Benediction, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, honour, and power, and strength to our God for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
« Amen! La bénédiction, et la gloire, et l'action de grâces, et l'honneur, et la puissance, et la force appartiennent à notre Dieu, aux siècles des siècles. » Amen! (aiōn g165)
13 And one of the ancients answered, and said to me: These that are clothed in white robes, who are they? and whence came they?
Et l'un des anciens, s'adressant à moi, reprit: « Ceux-là qui sont revêtus de robes blanches, qui sont-ils, et d'où sont-ils venus? »
14 And I said to him: My Lord, thou knowest. And he said to me: These are they who are come out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and have made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Et je lui répliquai: Seigneur, tu le sais. » Et il me dit: « Ceux-là sont ceux qui viennent d'une grande tribulation; et ils ont lavé leurs robes et ils les ont blanchies dans le sang de l'agneau;
15 Therefore they are before the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple: and he, that sitteth on the throne, shall dwell over them.
c'est pourquoi ils se tiennent devant le trône de Dieu, et L'adorent nuit et jour dans Son sanctuaire. Et Celui qui est assis sur le trône dressera au-dessus d'eux Sa tente;
16 They shall no more hunger nor thirst, neither shall the sun fall on them, nor any heat.
ils n'auront plus faim, ils n'auront plus soif; ni le soleil, ni aucune chaleur ne les frappera;
17 For the Lamb, which is in the midst of the throne, shall rule them, and shall lead them to the fountains of the waters of life, and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
parce que l'agneau qui est au milieu du trône les paîtra, et les conduira vers des sources d'eaux vivifiantes; et Dieu essuiera toute larme de leurs yeux. »
