Psalms 99

1 A psalm for David himself. The Lord hath reigned, let the people be angry: he that sitteth on the cherubims: let the earth be moved.

Az Úr uralkodik, reszkessenek a népek; Kérubokon ül, remegjen a föld!

2 The Lord is great in Sion, and high above all people.

Nagy az Úr a Sionon, és magasságos ő minden nép felett.

3 Let them give praise to thy great name: for it is terrible and holy:

Tiszteljék a te nagy és rettenetes nevedet, – szent az!

4 And the king’s honour loveth judgment. Thou hast prepared directions: thou hast done judgment and justice in Jacob.

És tisztesség a királynak, a ki szereti a jogosságot! Te megerősítetted az egyenességet; jogosságot és igazságot szereztél Jákóbban.

5 Exalt ye the Lord our God, and adore his footstool, for it is holy.

Magasztaljátok az Urat, a mi Istenünket, és boruljatok le az ő lábainak zsámolya elé; szent ő!

6 Moses and Aaron among his priests: and Samuel among them that call upon his name. They called upon the Lord, and he heard them:

Mózes és Áron az ő papjaival, és Sámuel az ő nevét segítségül hívókkal egybe, segítségül hívják vala az Urat, és meghallgatá őket.

7 He spoke to them in the pillar of the cloud. They kept his testimonies, and the commandment which he gave them.

Felhő-oszlopban szólt vala hozzájok; megőrizték az ő bizonyságtételét és rendeletét, a melyet adott vala nékik.

8 Thou didst hear them, O Lord our God: thou wast a merciful God to them, and taking vengeance on all their inventions.

Uram, mi Istenünk! Te meghallgattad őket, kegyelmes Isten voltál hozzájok; de bosszúálló az ő hiábavalóságaik miatt.

9 Exalt ye the Lord our God, and adore at his holy mountain: for the Lord our God is holy.

Magasztaljátok az Urat, a mi Istenünket, és boruljatok le az ő szent hegyén; mert szent az Úr, a mi Istenünk!
