Psalms 83
1 A canticle of a psalm for Asaph. O God, who shall be like to thee? hold not thy peace, neither be thou still, O God.
Pesem in psalm Asafu. O Bog, ne molči, ne delaj se gluhega, in ne mirúj, o Bog mogočni!
2 For lo, thy enemies have made a noise: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
Ker glej, neprijatelji tvoji ropotajo, in sovražniki tvoji dvigujejo glavo.
3 They have taken a malicious counsel against thy people, and have consulted against thy saints.
Zoper ljudstvo tvoje prekanjeno delajo naklep; in posvetujejo se zoper skrite tvoje.
4 They have said: Come and let us destroy them, so that they be not a nation: and let the name of Israel be remembered no more.
Rekoč: Dejte, potrebimo jih, da ne bodejo narod, da se ne bode več imenovalo ime Izraelovo.
5 For they have contrived with one consent: they have made a covenant together against thee,
Ker naklep so storili z enakimi srci; zoper tebe so sklenili zavezo.
6 The tabernacles of the Edomites, and the Ismahelites: Moab, and the Agarens,
Šatori Idumejcev in Izmaeličanov, Moabljani in Agarenci;
7 Gebal, and Ammon and Amalec: the Philistines, with the inhabitants of Tyre.
Gebaljani in Amonjani in Amalečani; Palestinjani s Tira prebivalci.
8 Yea, and the Assyrian also is joined with them: they are come to the aid of the sons of Lot.
Tudi Asirijan se jim je pridružil; roka so sinovom Lotovim.
9 Do to them as thou didst to Madian and to Sisara: as to Jabin at the brook of Cisson.
Stóri jim kakor Madijanom, kakor Sisaru, kakor Jabinu ob potoku Kisonu,
10 Who perished at Endor: and became as dung for the earth.
Ki so bili pokončani pri Endoru; postali so zemlje gnoj.
11 Make their princes like Oreb, and Zeb, and Zebee, and Salmana. All their princes,
Naredi njih plemenitnike same kakor Oreba, in kakor Zeba; kakor Zebaha in Salmuna vse njih poglavarje,
12 Who have said: Let us possess the sanctuary of God for an inheritance.
Kateri pravijo: Pridobimo prebivališča Božja.
13 O my God, make them like a wheel; and as stubble before the wind.
Bog moj, naredi jih kakor kolo, kakor pleve pred vetrom.
14 As fire which burneth the wood: and as a flame burning mountains:
Kakor ogenj požiga gozd, in kakor plamen vnema gore,
15 So shalt thou pursue them with thy tempest: and shalt trouble them in thy wrath.
Tako jih pódi z viharjem svojim; in z vrtincem svojim jih preplaši.
16 Fill their faces with shame; and they shall seek thy name, O Lord.
Sè sramoto napolni njih obličje; da se bode iskalo ime tvoje, o Gospod.
17 Let them be ashamed and troubled for ever and ever: and let them be confounded and perish.
Rudečica naj jih oblije, in zbegajo naj se večno; sramujejo se naj in poginejo;
18 And let them know that the Lord is thy name: thou alone art the most High over all the earth.
Da se spozná, da si ti, kateremu edinemu je ime Gospod, vzvišen nad vesoljno zemljo.
