Psalms 81
1 Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for Asaph himself. Rejoice to God our helper: sing aloud to the God of Jacob.
[Salmo] di Asaf, [dato] al Capo de' Musici, sopra Ghittit CANTATE lietamente a Dio nostra forza; Date grida di allegrezza all'Iddio di Giacobbe.
2 Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel: the pleasant psaltery with the harp.
Prendete a salmeggiare, ed aggiugnete[vi] il tamburo, La cetera dilettevole, col saltero.
3 Blow up the trumpet on the new moon, on the noted day of your solemnity.
Sonate colla tromba alle calendi, Nella nuova luna, al giorno della nostra festa.
4 For it is a commandment in Israel, and a judgment to the God of Jacob.
Perciocchè questo [è] uno statuto [dato] ad Israele, Una legge dell'Iddio di Giacobbe.
5 He ordained it for a testimony in Joseph, when he came out of the land of Egypt: he heard a tongue which he knew not.
Egli lo costituì [per] una testimonianza in Giuseppe, Dopo ch'egli fu uscito fuori contro al paese di Egitto; [Allora che] io udii un linguaggio [che] io non intendeva.
6 He removed his back from the burdens: his hands had served in baskets.
Io ho ritratte, [dice Iddio], le sue spalle da' pesi; Le sue mani si son dipartite dalle corbe.
7 Thou calledst upon me in affliction, and I delivered thee: I heard thee in the secret place of tempest: I proved thee at the waters of contradiction.
[O popol mio], tu gridasti [essendo] in distretta, ed io te [ne] trassi fuori; Io ti risposi, [stando] nel nascondimento del tuono; Io ti provai alle acque di Meriba. (Sela)
8 Hear, O my people, and I will testify to thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken to me,
Io [ti dissi]: Ascolta, popol mio, ed io ti farò le mie protestazioni; O Israele, attendessi tu pure a me!
9 There shall be no new god in thee: neither shalt thou adore a strange god.
Non siavi fra te alcun dio strano, E non adorare alcun dio forestiere.
10 For I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Io [sono] il Signore Iddio tuo, che ti ho tratto fuor del paese di Egitto; Allarga pur la tua bocca, ed io l'empierò.
11 But my people heard not my voice: and Israel hearkened not to me.
Ma il mio popolo non ha atteso alla mia voce; Ed Israele non mi ha acconsentito.
12 So I let them go according to the desires of their heart: they shall walk in their own inventions.
Onde io li ho abbandonati alla durezza del cuor loro; [Acciocchè] camminino secondo i lor consigli.
13 If my people had heard me: if Israel had walked in my ways:
Oh! avesse pure ubbidito il mio popolo, [E] fosse Israele camminato nelle mie vie!
14 I should soon have humbled their enemies, and laid my hand on them that troubled them.
Io avrei in uno stante abbattuti i lor nemici, Ed avrei rivolta la mia mano contro a' loro avversari.
15 The enemies of the Lord have lied to him: and their time shall be for ever.
Quelli che odiano il Signore si sarebbero infinti inverso loro; E il tempo loro sarebbe durato in perpetuo.
16 And he fed them with the fat of wheat, and filled them with honey out of the rock.
E [Iddio] li avrebbe cibati di grascia di frumento; E dalla roccia, [dice egli], io ti avrei satollato di miele.
