Psalms 76

1 Unto the end, in praises, a psalm for Asaph: a canticle to the Assyrians. In Judea God is known: his name is great in Israel.

Przewodnikowi chóru, n[a Neginot. Psalm i pieśń Asafa. ] Bóg znany jest w Judzie, jego imię [jest] wielkie w Izraelu.

2 And his place is in peace: and his abode in Sion:

W Salem jest jego przybytek, a jego mieszkanie na Syjonie.

3 There hath he broken the powers of bows, the shield, the sword, and the battie.

Tam połamał ogniste strzały łuku, tarczę i miecz i [położył kres] bitwie. (Sela)

4 Thou enlightenest wonderfully from the everlasting hills.

Wspanialszy jesteś i dostojniejszy niż góry zdobyczy.

5 All the foolish of heart were troubled. They have slept their sleep; and all the men of riches have found nothing in their hands.

Odważni stali się łupem, pogrążyli się we śnie, mężni nie znaleźli siły w swych rękach.

6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, they have all slumbered that mounted on horseback.

Od twego gromienia, Boże Jakuba, mocno zasnęły wozy i konie.

7 Thou art terrible, and who shall resist thee? from that time thy wrath.

Ty, ty sam, jesteś straszliwy; i któż się ostoi przed twoim obliczem, gdy się rozgniewasz?

8 Thou hast caused judgment to be heard from heaven: the earth trembled and was still,

Z nieba dajesz słyszeć swój wyrok, ziemia się zlękła i zamilkła;

9 When God arose in judgment, to save all the meek of the earth.

Gdy Bóg powstał na sąd, aby wybawić wszystkich pokornych [na] ziemi. (Sela)

10 For the thought of man shall give praise to thee: and the remainders of the thought shall keep holiday to thee.

Doprawdy nawet gniew człowieka będzie cię chwalić, [a ty] resztkę [tego] gniewu powstrzymasz.

11 Vow ye, and pay to the Lord your God: all you that are round about him bring presents. To him that is terrible,

Składajcie śluby i wypełniajcie [je] wobec PANA, waszego Boga; [wszyscy] otaczający go, przynoście dary temu, który napawa strachem.

12 Even to him who taketh away the spirit of princes: to the terrible with the kings of the earth.

On zabierze ducha książąt, [on] wzbudza strach u królów ziemi.
