Psalms 70

1 Unto the end, a psalm for David, to bring to remembrance that the Lord saved him. O God, come to my assistance; O Lord, make haste to help me.

Dem Musikmeister, von David; bei Darbringung des Duftopfers. Gott, eile zu meiner Rettung,

2 Let them be confounded and ashamed that seek my soul:

Laß alle beschämt und schamrot werden, die nach dem Leben mir stehn (um es auszutilgen)! Laß mit Schande beladen abziehn, die mein Unglück wünschen!

3 Let them be turned backward, and blush for shame that desire evils to me: Let them be presently turned away blushing for shame that say to me: Tis well, tis well.

Laß zurück sich wenden ob ihrer Schmach, die über mich rufen: »Haha, haha!«

4 Let all that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee; and let such as love thy salvation say always: The Lord be magnified.

Laß jubeln und deiner sich freuen alle, die dich suchen! Laß alle, die nach deinem Heil verlangen, immerdar bekennen: »Groß ist Gott!«

5 But I am needy and poor; O God, help me. Thou art my helper and my deliverer: O Lord, make no delay.

Doch ich bin elend und arm: o Gott, eile zu mir! Meine Hilfe und mein Retter bist du: o HERR, säume nicht!
