Psalms 65

1 To the end, a psalm of David. The canticle of Jeremias and Ezechiel to the people of the captivity, when they began to go out. A Hymn, O God, becometh thee in Sion: and a vow shall be paid to thee in Jerusalem.

[Dem Vorsänger, ein Psalm. Von David, ein Lied.] Deiner harrt schweigend der Lobgesang, o Gott, in Zion, und dir wird bezahlt werden das Gelübde.

2 O hear my prayer: all flesh shall come to thee.

Hörer des Gebets! zu dir wird kommen alles Fleisch.

3 The words of the wicked have prevailed over us: and thou wilt pardon our transgressions.

Ungerechtigkeiten [d. h. Betätigungen der Ungerechtigkeit] haben mich überwältigt; unsere Übertretungen, du wirst sie vergeben.

4 Blessed is he whom thou hast chosen and taken to thee: he shall dwell in thy courts. We shall be filled with the good things of thy house; holy is thy temple,

Glückselig der, den du erwählest und herzunahen lässest, daß er wohne in deinen Vorhöfen! wir werden gesättigt werden mit dem Guten deines Hauses, dem Heiligen deines Tempels. [And. üb.: deines heiligen Tempels]

5 Wonderful in justice. Hear us, O God our saviour, who art the hope of all the ends of the earth, and in the sea afar off.

Du wirst uns antworten durch furchtbare Dinge in Gerechtigkeit, Gott unseres Heils, du Zuversicht aller Enden der Erde und der fernsten Meere! [W. des Meeres der Fernen]

6 Thou who preparest the mountains by thy strength, being girded with power:

Der die Berge feststellt durch seine Kraft, umgürtet ist mit Macht,

7 Who troublest the depth of the sea, the noise of its waves. The Gentiles shall be troubled,

Der da stillt das Brausen der Meere, das Brausen ihrer Wellen und das Getümmel der Völkerschaften.

8 And they that dwell in the uttermost borders shall be afraid at thy signs: thou shalt make the outgoings of the morning and of the evening to be joyful.

Und es fürchten sich die Bewohner der Enden der Erde, vor deinen Zeichen; du machst jauchzen die Ausgänge des Morgens und des Abends. [d. h. den Osten und den Westen]

9 Thou hast visited the earth, and hast plentifully watered it; thou hast many ways enriched it. The river of God is filled with water, thou hast prepared their food: for so is its preparation.

Du hast die Erde heimgesucht [O. dich der Erde fürsorglich angenommen] und ihr Überfluß gewährt, du bereicherst sie sehr: Gottes Bach ist voll Wassers. Du bereitest ihr [d. h. der Menschen] Getreide, wenn du sie also bereitest. [O. denn also bereitest du sie]

10 Fill up plentifully the streams thereof, multiply its fruits; it shall spring up and rejoice in its showers.

Du tränkest ihre Furchen, ebnest ihre Schollen, du erweichst sie mit Regengüssen, segnest ihr Gewächs.

11 Thou shalt bless the crown of the year of thy goodness: and thy fields shall be filled with plenty.

Du hast gekrönt das Jahr deiner Güte, und deine Spuren triefen von Fett.

12 The beautiful places of the wilderness shall grow fat: and the hills shall be girded about with joy,

Es triefen die Auen der Steppe, und mit Jubel umgürten sich die Hügel.

13 The rams of the flock are clothed, and the vales shall abound with corn: they shall shout, yea they shall sing a hymn.

Die Triften bekleiden sich mit Herden, und die Täler bedecken sich mit Korn; sie jauchzen, ja, sie singen.
