Psalms 63
1 A psalm of David when he was in the desert of Edom. O God, my God, to thee do I watch at break of day. For thee my soul hath thirsted; for thee my flesh, O how many ways!
Psaume de David lorsqu’il était dans le désert de l’Idumée. Dieu, mon Dieu, je veille et j’aspire vers vous dès la lumière.
2 In a desert land, and where there is no way, and no water: so in the sanctuary have I come before thee, to see thy power and thy glory.
Dans une terre déserte et sans chemin, et sans eau, je me suis présenté devant vous, comme dans le sanctuaire, afin de voir votre vertu et votre gloire.
3 For thy mercy is better than lives: thee my lips shall praise.
Parce que votre miséricorde est meilleure que la vie; mes lèvres vous loueront.
4 Thus will I bless thee all my life long: and in thy name I will lift up my hands.
Ainsi je vous bénirai pendant ma vie: et en votre nom je lèverai mes mains.
5 Let my soul be filled as with marrow and fatness: and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.
Que mon âme soit remplie comme d’une graisse abondante; et avec des lèvres d’exultation, ma bouche vous louera.
6 If I have remembered thee upon my bed, I will meditate on thee in the morning:
Si je me suis souvenu de vous sur ma couche; je méditerai les matins sur vous,
7 Because thou hast been my helper. And I will rejoice under the covert of thy wings:
Parce que vous avez été mon aide. Et à couvert sous vos ailes, je serai transporté de joie.
8 My soul hath stuck close to thee: thy right hand hath received me.
Mon âme s’est attachée à vous; votre droite m’a soutenu.
9 But they have sought my soul in vain, they shall go into the lower parts of the earth:
Pour eux, en vain ils ont cherché mon âme; ils entreront dans les parties inférieures de la terre.
10 They shall be delivered into the hands of the sword, they shall be the portions of foxes.
Ils seront livrés aux mains du glaive, ils seront la part des renards.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God, all they shall be praised that swear by him: because the mouth is stopped of them that speak wicked things.
Mais le roi se réjouira en Dieu; on louera tous ceux qui jureront par lui; parce qu’a été fermée la bouche de ceux qui disaient des choses iniques.
