Psalms 55
1 Unto the end, in verses, understanding for David. Hear, O God, my prayer, and despise not my supplication:
Para o músico chefe. Em instrumentos de corda. Uma contemplação de David. Listen à minha oração, Deus. Não se esconda da minha súplica.
2 Be attentive to me and hear me. I am grieved in my exercise; and am troubled,
Attend para mim, e me responda. Estou inquieto em minha queixa, e gemer
3 At the voice of the enemy, and at the tribulation of the sinner. For they have cast iniquities upon me: and in wrath they were troublesome to me.
because da voz do inimigo, por causa da opressão dos ímpios. Pois eles trazem sofrimento para mim. Com raiva, eles guardam rancor contra mim.
4 My heart is troubled within me: and the fear of death is fallen upon me.
Meu coração está gravemente magoado dentro de mim. Os terrores da morte caíram sobre mim.
5 Fear and trembling are come upon me: and darkness hath covered me.
Fearfulness e tremores vieram sobre mim. O horror tem me dominado.
6 And I said: Who will give me wings like a dove, and I will fly and be at rest?
Eu disse: “Oh, que eu tinha asas como uma pomba! Então eu voaria para longe, e estaria em repouso.
7 Lo, I have gone far off flying away; and I abode in the wilderness.
Behold, então eu vaguearia para bem longe. Eu me alojaria no deserto”. (Selah)
8 I waited for him that hath saved me from pusillanimity of spirit, and a storm.
“Eu me apressaria para um abrigo do vento tempestuoso e da tempestade”.
9 Cast down, O Lord, and divide their tongues; for I have seen iniquity and contradiction in the city.
Confuse eles, Senhor, e confundir sua linguagem, pois tenho visto violência e conflitos na cidade.
10 Day and night shall iniquity surround it upon its walls: and in the midst thereof are labour,
Day e à noite eles rondam as suas paredes. Malícia e abuso também estão dentro dela.
11 And injustice. And usury and deceit have not departed from its streets.
Destructive forças estão dentro dela. Ameaças e mentiras não saem de suas ruas.
12 For if my enemy had reviled me, I would verily have borne with it. And if he that hated me had spoken great things against me, I would perhaps have hidden myself from him.
Pois não foi um inimigo que me insultou, então eu poderia tê-lo suportado. Nem foi ele que me odiou que se levantou contra mim, então eu teria me escondido dele.
13 But thou a man of one mind, my guide, and my familiar,
Mas foi você, um homem como eu, meu companheiro, e meu amigo familiar.
14 Who didst take sweetmeats together with me: in the house of God we walked with consent.
We levou doce companheirismo juntos. Caminhamos na casa de Deus com companhia.
15 Let death come upon them, and let them go down alive into hell. For there is wickedness in their dwellings: in the midst of them. (Sheol h7585)
Que a morte venha repentinamente sobre eles. Deixe-os descer vivos no Sheol. Pois a maldade está entre eles, em sua morada. (Sheol h7585)
16 But I have cried to God: and the Lord will save me.
Quanto a mim, vou recorrer a Deus. Yahweh me salvará.
17 Evening and morning, and at noon I will speak and declare: and he shall hear my voice.
Evening, de manhã, e ao meio-dia, eu gritarei em angústia. Ele vai ouvir minha voz.
18 He shall redeem my soul in peace from them that draw near to me: for among many they were with me.
Ele resgatou minha alma em paz da batalha que foi contra mim, embora haja muitos que se opõem a mim.
19 God shall hear, and the Eternal shall humble them. For there is no change with them, and they have not feared God:
God, que é entronizado para sempre, os ouvirá e os responderá. (Selah) Eles nunca mudam e não temam a Deus.
20 He hath stretched forth his hand to repay. They have defiled his covenant,
Ele levanta as mãos contra seus amigos. Ele violou seu convênio.
21 They are divided by the wrath Of his countenance, and his heart hath drawn near. His words are smoother than oil, and the same are darts.
Sua boca era lisa como manteiga, mas seu coração era a guerra. Suas palavras foram mais suaves que as do petróleo, no entanto, eram espadas desembainhadas.
22 Cast thy care upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall not suffer the just to waver for ever.
Cast seu fardo sobre Yahweh e ele o sustentará. Ele nunca permitirá que os justos sejam movidos.
23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee, O Lord.
Mas você, Deus, os trará para o poço da destruição. Homens sedentos de sangue e enganosos não viverão metade de seus dias, mas eu vou confiar em você.
