Psalms 55
1 Unto the end, in verses, understanding for David. Hear, O God, my prayer, and despise not my supplication:
Przedniejszemu śpiewakowi na Neginot pieśń Dawidowa nauczająca. W uszy swe przyjmij, o Boże! modlitwę moję, a nie kryj się przed prośbą moją:
2 Be attentive to me and hear me. I am grieved in my exercise; and am troubled,
Posłuchaj mię z pilnością, a wysłuchaj mię; boć się uskarżam w modlitwie swej, i trwożę sobą:
3 At the voice of the enemy, and at the tribulation of the sinner. For they have cast iniquities upon me: and in wrath they were troublesome to me.
Dla głosu nieprzyjaciela, i dla uciśnienia od bezbożnika; albowiem mię zarzucają kłamstwem, a w popędliwości swej sprzeciwiają mi się.
4 My heart is troubled within me: and the fear of death is fallen upon me.
Serce moje boleje we mnie, a strachy śmierci przypadły na mię.
5 Fear and trembling are come upon me: and darkness hath covered me.
Bojaźń ze drżeniem przyszła na mię, a okryła mię trwoga.
6 And I said: Who will give me wings like a dove, and I will fly and be at rest?
I rzekłem: Obym miał skrzydła jako gołębica, zaleciałbym, a odpocząłbym.
7 Lo, I have gone far off flying away; and I abode in the wilderness.
Otobym daleko zaleciał, a mieszkałbym na puszczy. (Sela)
8 I waited for him that hath saved me from pusillanimity of spirit, and a storm.
Pospieszyłbym, abym uszedł przed wiatrem gwałtownym, i przed wichrem.
9 Cast down, O Lord, and divide their tongues; for I have seen iniquity and contradiction in the city.
Zatrać ich, Panie! rozdziel język ich; bom widział bezprawie i rozruch w mieście.
10 Day and night shall iniquity surround it upon its walls: and in the midst thereof are labour,
We dnie i w nocy otaczają ich po murach jego, a złość i przewrotność jest w pośrodku jego.
11 And injustice. And usury and deceit have not departed from its streets.
Ciężkości są w pośrodku jego, a nie ustępuje z ulic jego chytrość i zdrada.
12 For if my enemy had reviled me, I would verily have borne with it. And if he that hated me had spoken great things against me, I would perhaps have hidden myself from him.
Albowiem nie nieprzyjaciel jaki zelżył mię, inaczej zniósłbym to był; ani ten, który mię miał w nienawiści, powstał przeciwko mnie; bobym się wżdy był skrył przed nim;
13 But thou a man of one mind, my guide, and my familiar,
Ale ty, człowiecze mnie równy, wodzu mój, i znajomy mój.
14 Who didst take sweetmeats together with me: in the house of God we walked with consent.
Którzyśmy się z sobą mile w tajności naradzali, i do domu Bożego społecznie chadzali.
15 Let death come upon them, and let them go down alive into hell. For there is wickedness in their dwellings: in the midst of them. (Sheol h7585)
Oby ich śmierć z prędka załapiła, tak aby żywo zstąpili do piekła! albowiem złość jest w mieszkaniu ich, i w pośrodku ich. (Sheol h7585)
16 But I have cried to God: and the Lord will save me.
Ale ja do Boga zawołam, a Pan mię wybawi.
17 Evening and morning, and at noon I will speak and declare: and he shall hear my voice.
W wieczór i rano, i w południe modlić się, i z trzaskiem wołać będę, aż wysłucha głos mój.
18 He shall redeem my soul in peace from them that draw near to me: for among many they were with me.
Odkupi duszę moję, abym był w pokoju od wojny przeciwko mnie; bo ich wiele było przy mnie.
19 God shall hear, and the Eternal shall humble them. For there is no change with them, and they have not feared God:
Wysłucha Bóg i utrapi ich, (jako ten, który siedzi od wieku. (Sela) przeto, że nie masz w nich poprawy, ani się Boga boją.
20 He hath stretched forth his hand to repay. They have defiled his covenant,
Wyciągnął ręce swoje na tych, którzy z nim mieli pokój, wzruszył przymierze swoje.
21 They are divided by the wrath Of his countenance, and his heart hath drawn near. His words are smoother than oil, and the same are darts.
Gładsze niż masło były słowa ust jego, ale walka w sercu jego: a mię kciejsze słowa jego niż olej, wszakże były jako miecze dobyte:
22 Cast thy care upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall not suffer the just to waver for ever.
Wrzuć na Pana brzemię twoje, a on cię opatrzy, i nie dopuści, aby się na wieki zachwiać miał sprawiedliwy.
23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction. Bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee, O Lord.
Ale ich ty, o Boże! wepchniesz w dół zginienia; mężowie krwawi i zdradliwi nie dojdą do połowy dni swoich; ale ja w tobie nadzieję mieć będę.
