Psalms 43

1 A psalm for David. Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation that is not holy: deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man.

Schaffe mir Recht, o Gott, und führe meinen Rechtsstreit gegen ein liebloses Volk! Von Menschen des Trugs und der Bosheit errette mich, HERR!

2 For thou art God my strength: why hast thou cast me off? and why do I go sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me?

Du bist ja der Gott, der mich schützt: warum hast du mich verstoßen? Warum muß ich trauernd einhergehn unter dem Druck des Feindes?

3 Send forth thy light and thy truth: they have conducted me, and brought me unto thy holy hill, and into thy tabernacles.

Sende dein Licht und deine Treue! Die sollen mich leiten, mich bringen zu deinem heiligen Berge und deiner Wohnstatt,

4 And I will go in to the altar of God: to God who giveth joy to my youth.

damit ich zum Altar Gottes komme, zu dem Gott meines Freudenjubels, und unter Zitherklang dich preise, o Gott, mein Gott!

5 To thee, O God my God, I will give praise upon the harp: why art thou sad, O my soul? and why dost thou disquiet me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God.

Was betrübst du dich, meine Seele, und stürmst so ruhlos in mir? Harre auf Gott! Denn ich werde ihm noch danken, ihm, meines Angesichts Hilfe und meinem Gott.
