Psalms 4
1 Unto the end, in verses. A psalm for David. When I called upon him, the God of my justice heard me: when I was in distress, thou hast enlarged me. Have mercy on me: and hear my prayer.
En Psalm Davids, till att föresjunga på strängaspel. Hör mig, när jag ropar, mine rättfärdighets Gud; du som tröstar mig i ångest; var mig nådelig, och hör mina bön.
2 O ye sons of men, how long will you be dull of heart? why do you love vanity, and seek after lying?
I herrar, huru länge skall min ära skämd varda? Hvi hafven I fåfängeligheten så kär, och älsken lögnen? (Sela)
3 Know ye also that the Lord hath made his holy one wonderful: the Lord will hear me when I shall cry unto him.
Besinner dock, att Herren förer sina heliga underliga; Herren hörer, när jag åkallar honom.
4 Be angry, and sin not: the things you say in your hearts, be sorry for them upon your beds.
Varden I vrede, så synder icke; taler med edor hjerta på edra sänger, och bider. (Sela)
5 Offer up the sacrifice of justice, and trust in the Lord: many say, Who sheweth us good things?
Offrer rättfärdighet, och tröster uppå Herran.
6 The light of thy countenance O Lord, is signed upon us: thou hast given gladness in my heart.
Månge säga: Huru skulle den visa oss hvad godt är? Men upplyft, Herre, öfver oss dins ansigtes ljus.
7 By the fruit of their corn, their wine and oil, they are multiplied.
Du fröjdar mitt hjerta, ändock de andre mycket vin och korn hafva.
8 In peace in the selfsame I will sleep, and I will rest: For thou, O Lord, singularly hast settled me in hope.
Jag ligger och sofver allstinges i frid; ty allena du, Herre, hjelper mig, att jag må säker bo.
