Psalms 38
1 A psalm for David, for a remembrance of the sabbath. Rebuke me not, O Lord, in thy indignation; nor chastise me in thy wrath.
Ein Psalm von David zum Gedächtnis. Jehova, strafe mich nicht in deinem Zorn, noch züchtige mich in deinem Grimm!
2 For thy arrows are fastened in me: and thy hand hath been strong upon me.
Denn deine Pfeile sind in mich eingedrungen, und deine Hand hat sich auf mich herabgesenkt.
3 There is no health in my flesh, because of thy wrath: there is no peace for my bones, because of my sins.
Nichts Heiles ist an meinem Fleische wegen deines Zürnens, kein Frieden in meinen Gebeinen wegen meiner Sünde.
4 For my iniquities are gone over my head: and as a heavy burden are become heavy upon me.
Denn meine Ungerechtigkeiten sind über mein Haupt gegangen, wie eine schwere Last sind sie zu schwer für mich.
5 My sores are putrified and corrupted, because of my foolishness.
Es stinken, es eitern meine Wunden wegen meiner Torheit.
6 I am become miserable, and am bowed down even to the end: I walked sorrowful all the day long.
Ich bin gekrümmt, über die Maßen gebeugt; den ganzen Tag gehe ich trauernd einher.
7 For my loins are filled with illusions; and there is no health in my flesh.
Denn voll Brand sind meine Lenden, und nichts Heiles ist an meinem Fleische.
8 I am afflicted and humbled exceedingly: I roared with the groaning of my heart.
Ich bin ermattet und über die Maßen zerschlagen, ich heule vor Gestöhn meines Herzens.
9 Lord, all my desire is before thee, and my groaning is not hidden from thee.
Herr, vor dir ist all mein Begehr, und mein Seufzen ist nicht vor dir verborgen.
10 My heart is troubled, my strength hath left me, and the light of my eyes itself is not with me.
Mein Herz pocht, verlassen hat mich meine Kraft; und das Licht meiner Augen, auch das ist nicht bei mir.
11 My friends and my neighbours have drawn near, and stood against me. And they that were near me stood afar off:
Meine Lieben und meine Genossen stehen fernab von meiner Plage, und meine Verwandten stehen von ferne.
12 And they that sought my soul used violence. And they that sought evils to me spoke vain things, and studied deceits all the day long.
Und die nach meinem Leben trachten, legen mir Schlingen; und die mein Unglück suchen, reden von Schadentun und sinnen auf Trug den ganzen Tag.
13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not: and as a dumb man not opening his mouth.
Ich aber, wie ein Tauber, höre nicht, und bin wie ein Stummer, der seinen Mund nicht auftut.
14 And I became as a man that heareth not: and that hath no reproofs in his mouth.
Und ich bin wie ein Mann, der nicht hört, und in dessen Munde keine Gegenreden sind.
15 For in thee, O Lord, have I hoped: thou wilt hear me, O Lord my God.
Denn auf dich, Jehova, harre ich; du, du wirst antworten, Herr, mein Gott.
16 For I said: Lest at any time my enemies rejoice over me: and whilst my feet are moved, they speak great things against me.
Denn ich sprach: Daß sie sich nicht über mich freuen! Beim Wanken meines Fußes tun sie groß wider mich.
17 For I am ready for scourges: and my sorrow is continually before me.
Denn ich bin nahe daran zu hinken, und mein Schmerz ist beständig vor mir.
18 For I will declare my inequity: and I will think for my sin.
Denn ich tue kund meine Ungerechtigkeit; ich bin bekümmert wegen meiner Sünde.
19 But my enemies live, and are stronger that I: and they hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
Meine Feinde aber leben, sind stark, und viele sind derer, die ohne Grund mich hassen;
20 They that render evil for good, have detracted me, because I followed goodness.
und Böses für Gutes vergeltend, feinden sie mich an, weil ich dem Guten nachjage.
21 Forsake me not, O Lord my God: do not thou depart from me.
Verlaß mich nicht, Jehova; mein Gott, sei nicht fern von mir!
22 Attend unto my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.
Eile zu meiner Hilfe, Herr, meine Rettung!
