Psalms 2

1 Why have the Gentiles raged, and the people devised vain things?

Por que as nações se rebelam, e os povos planejam em vão?

2 The kings of the earth stood up, and the princes met together, against the Lord and against his Christ.

Os reis da terra se levantam, e os governantes tomam conselhos reunidos contra o SENHOR, e contra seu Ungido, [dizendo]:

3 Let us break their bonds asunder: and let us cast away their yoke from us.

Rompamos as correntes deles, e lancemos fora de nós as cordas deles.

4 He that dwelleth in heaven shall laugh at them: and the Lord shall deride them.

Aquele que está sentado nos céus rirá; o Senhor zombará deles.

5 Then shall he speak to them in his anger, and trouble them in his rage.

Então ele lhes falará em sua ira; em seu furor ele os assombrará, [dizendo]:

6 But I am appointed king by him over Sion his holy mountain, preaching his commandment.

E eu ungi a meu Rei sobre Sião, o monte de minha santidade.

7 The Lord hath said to me: Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee.

E eu declararei o decreto do SENHOR: Ele me disse: Tu és meu Filho; eu hoje te gerei.

8 Ask of me, and I will give thee the Gentiles for thy inheritance, and the utmost parts of the earth for thy possession.

Pede-me, e eu te darei as nações [por] herança, e [por] tua propriedade os confins da terra.

9 Thou shalt rule them with a rod of iron, and shalt break them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.

Com cetro de ferro tu as quebrarás; como vaso de oleiro tu as despedaçarás;

10 And now, O ye kings, understand: receive instruction, you that judge the earth.

Portanto agora, reis, sede prudentes; vós, juízes da terra, deixai serdes instruídos.

11 Serve ye the Lord with fear: and rejoice unto him with trembling.

Servi ao SENHOR com temor; e alegrai-vos com tremor.

12 Embrace discipline, lest at any time the Lord be angry, and you perish from the just way. When his wrath shall be kindled in a short time, blessed are all they that trust in him.

Beijai ao Filho, para que ele não se ire, e pereçais [no] caminho; porque em breve a ira dele se acenderá. Bem-aventurados [são] todos os que nele confiam.
