Psalms 148

1 Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise ye him in the high places.

Lodate il Signore dai cieli, lodatelo nell'alto dei cieli. Alleluia.

2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.

Lodatelo, voi tutti, suoi angeli, lodatelo, voi tutte, sue schiere.

3 Praise ye him, O sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars and light.

Lodatelo, sole e luna, lodatelo, voi tutte, fulgide stelle.

4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens: and let all the waters that are above the heavens

Lodatelo, cieli dei cieli, voi acque al di sopra dei cieli.

5 Praise the name of the Lord. For he spoke, and they were made: he commanded, and they were created.

Lodino tutti il nome del Signore, perché egli disse e furono creati.

6 He hath established them for ever, and for ages of ages: he hath made a decree, and it shall not pass away.

Li ha stabiliti per sempre, ha posto una legge che non passa.

7 Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all ye deeps:

Lodate il Signore dalla terra, mostri marini e voi tutti abissi,

8 Fire, hail, snow, ice, stormy winds which fulfill his word:

fuoco e grandine, neve e nebbia, vento di bufera che obbedisce alla sua parola,

9 Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and all cedars:

monti e voi tutte, colline, alberi da frutto e tutti voi, cedri,

10 Beasts and all cattle: serpents and feathered fowls:

voi fiere e tutte le bestie, rettili e uccelli alati.

11 Kings of the earth and all people: princes and all judges of the earth:

I re della terra e i popoli tutti, i governanti e i giudici della terra,

12 Young men and maidens: let the old with the younger, praise the name of the Lord:

i giovani e le fanciulle, i vecchi insieme ai bambini

13 For his name alone is exalted.

lodino il nome del Signore: perché solo il suo nome è sublime, la sua gloria risplende sulla terra e nei cieli.

14 The praise of him is above heaven and earth: and he hath exalted the horn of his people. A hymn to all his saints: to the children of Israel, a people approaching to him. Alleluia.

Egli ha sollevato la potenza del suo popolo. E' canto di lode per tutti i suoi fedeli, per i figli di Israele, popolo che egli ama. Alleluia.
