Psalms 148
1 Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise ye him in the high places.
Halleluja! Pris Herren i himlen, pris ham i det høje!
2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.
Pris ham, alle hans engle, pris ham, alle hans hærskarer,
3 Praise ye him, O sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars and light.
pris ham, sol og måne, pris ham, hver lysende stjerne,
4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens: and let all the waters that are above the heavens
pris ham, himlenes himle og vandene over himlene!
5 Praise the name of the Lord. For he spoke, and they were made: he commanded, and they were created.
De skal prise Herrens navn, thi han bød, og de blev skabt;
6 He hath established them for ever, and for ages of ages: he hath made a decree, and it shall not pass away.
han gav dem deres plads for evigt, han gav en lov, som de ej overtræder!
7 Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all ye deeps:
Lad pris stige op til Herren fra jorden, I havdyr og alle dyb,
8 Fire, hail, snow, ice, stormy winds which fulfill his word:
Ild og hagl, sne og røg, storm, som gør hvad han siger,
9 Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and all cedars:
I bjerge og alle høje, frugttræer og alle cedre,
10 Beasts and all cattle: serpents and feathered fowls:
I vilde dyr og alt kvæg, krybdyr og vingede fugle,
11 Kings of the earth and all people: princes and all judges of the earth:
I jordens konger og alle folkeslag, fyrster og alle jordens dommere,
12 Young men and maidens: let the old with the younger, praise the name of the Lord:
ynglinge sammen med jomfruer, gamle sammen med unge!
13 For his name alone is exalted.
De skal prise Herrens navn, thi ophøjet er hans navn alene, hans højhed omspender jord og himmel.
14 The praise of him is above heaven and earth: and he hath exalted the horn of his people. A hymn to all his saints: to the children of Israel, a people approaching to him. Alleluia.
Han løfter et horn for sit folk, lovprist af alle sine fromme, af Israels børn, det folk, der står ham nær. Halleluja!
