Psalms 146

1 Alleluia, of Aggeus and Zacharias.

Alléluia, d’Aggée et de Zacharie.

2 Praise the Lord, O my soul, in my life I will praise the Lord: I will sing to my God as long as I shall be. Put not your trust in princes:

Loue le Seigneur, ô mon âme, je louerai le Seigneur, pendant ma vie, je jouerai du psaltérion en l’honneur de mon Dieu, tant que je serai. Ne vous confiez pas dans les princes,

3 In the children of men, in whom there is no salvation.

Ni dans les fils des hommes, dans lesquels il n’y a pas de salut.

4 His spirit shall go forth, and he shall return into his earth: in that day all their thoughts shall perish.

Son esprit sortira de son corps, et il retournera dans sa terre; en ce jour périront toutes leurs pensées.

5 Blessed is he who hath the God of Jacob for his helper, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

Bienheureux celui dont le Dieu de Jacob est le porte-secours; son espérance est dans le Seigneur son Dieu,

6 Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all things that are in them.

Qui a fait le ciel et la terre, la mer et tout ce qui existe en eux.

7 Who keepeth truth for ever: who executeth judgment for them that suffer wrong: who giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth them that are fettered:

Qui garde la vérité à jamais, fait justice à ceux qui souffrent injure, donne la nourriture à ceux qui ont faim.

8 The Lord enlighteneth the blind. The Lord lifteth up them that are cast down: the Lord loveth the just.

Le Seigneur donne la lumière aux aveugles.

9 The Lord keepeth the strangers, he will support the fatherless and the widow: and the ways of sinners he will destroy.

Le Seigneur garde les étrangers; il prendra sous sa protection l’orphelin et la veuve; et les voies des pécheurs, il les perdra entièrement.

10 The Lord shall reign for ever: thy God, O Sion, unto generation and generation.

Le Seigneur régnera dans les siècles; ton Dieu, ô Sion, dans toutes les générations.
