Psalms 143
1 Hear, O Lord, my prayer: give ear to my supplication in thy truth: hear me in thy justice.
Psaume de David, quand son fils le poursuivait. Seigneur, écoute ma prière; prête l'oreille à ma prière en ta vérité; exauce-moi en ta justice.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight no man living shall be justified.
Et n'entre point en jugement avec ton serviteur; car nul homme vivant ne sera justifié devant toi.
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul: he hath brought down my life to the earth. He hath made me to dwell in darkness as those that have been dead of old:
L'ennemi a poursuivi mon âme; il a humilié ma vie jusqu'à terre; il m'a mis dans un lieu de ténèbres, comme les morts du siècle passé;
4 And my spirit is in anguish within me: my heart within me is troubled.
Et mon esprit a été dans l'anxiété, et moi, mon cœur a été troublé.
5 I remembered the days of old, I meditated on all thy works: I meditated upon the works of thy hands.
Je me suis souvenu des jours antiques, et j'ai médité sur toutes tes actions; j'ai médité sur les œuvres de tes mains.
6 I stretched forth my hands to thee: my soul is as earth without water unto thee.
Et j'ai étendu les mains vers toi; mon âme est devant toi comme une terre sans eau.
7 Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit hath fainted away. Turn not away thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
Seigneur, exauce-moi au plus tôt; mon esprit a défailli; ne détourne pas de moi ta face, car je serais semblable à ceux qui descendent dans le lac.
8 Cause me to hear thy mercy in the morning; for in thee have I hoped. Make the way known to me, wherein I should walk: for I have lifted up my soul to thee.
Fais que dès l'aurore j'entende ta miséricorde; car j'ai espéré en toi. Fais-moi connaître, Seigneur, la voie où je dois marcher; car j'ai élevé vers toi mon âme.
9 Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord, to thee have I fled:
Délivre-moi de mes ennemis, Seigneur; car je me suis réfugié vers toi.
10 Teach me to do thy will, for thou art my God. Thy good spirit shall lead me into the right land:
Enseigne-moi à faire ta volonté; car tu es mon Dieu. Ton Esprit, plein de bonté, me guidera dans la droiture.
11 For thy name’s sake, O Lord, thou wilt quicken me in thy justice. Thou wilt bring my soul out of trouble:
Pour l'amour de ton nom, Seigneur, tu me vivifieras en ta justice; tu retireras mon âme de la tribulation.
12 And in thy mercy thou wilt destroy my enemies. And thou wilt cut off all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
Et dans ta miséricorde tu extermineras mes ennemis; tu détruiras tous ceux qui tourmentent mon âme, car je suis ton serviteur.
