Psalms 135
1 Praise ye the name of the Lord: O you his servants, praise the Lord:
Rühmet Jah! Rühmt den Namen Jahwes, rühmt, ihr Diener Jahwes,
2 You that stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God.
die ihr im Tempel Jahwes steht, in den Vorhöfen des Tempels unseres Gottes!
3 Praise ye the Lord, for the Lord is good: sing ye to his name, for it is sweet.
Rühmet Jah, den Jahwe ist gütig; lobsingt seinem Namen, denn er ist lieblich!
4 For the Lord hath chosen Jacob unto himself: Israel for his own possession.
Denn Jah hat sich Jakob erwählt, Israel zu seinem Eigentum.
5 For I have known that the Lord is great, and our God is above all gods.
Denn ich weiß, daß Jahwe groß ist und unser Herr alle Götter überragt.
6 Whatsoever the Lord hath pleased he hath done, in heaven, in earth, in the sea, and in all the deeps.
Alles, was ihm beliebte, hat Jahwe gethan, im Himmel und auf Erden, im Meer und in allen Tiefen.
7 He bringeth up clouds from the end of the earth: he hath made lightnings for the rain. He bringeth forth winds out of his stores:
Der Wolken heraufführt vom Ende der Erde her, Regen und Blitze schafft, den Wind aus seinen Schatzkammern hervorholt;
8 He slew the firstborn of Egypt from man even unto beast.
der die Erstgeborenen Ägyptens schlug, sowohl Menschen, als Vieh,
9 He sent forth signs and wonders in the midst of thee, O Egypt: upon Pharao, and upon all his servants.
Zeichen und Wunder in dich, Ägypten, entsandte, wider den Pharao und alle seine Unterthanen;
10 He smote many nations, and slew mighty kings:
der viele Völker schlug und mächtige Könige tötete:
11 Sehon king of the Amorrhites, and Og king of Basan, and all the kingdoms of Chanaan.
Sihon, den König der Amoriter, und Og, den König von Basan, und alle Königreiche Kanaans.
12 And gave their land for an inheritance, for an inheritance to his people Israel.
Und er gab ihr Land zum Besitztum, zum Besitztum seinem Volk Israel.
13 Thy name, O Lord, is for ever: thy memorial, O Lord, unto all generations.
Jahwe, dein Name währt ewig, dein Gedächtnis, Jahwe, durch alle Geschlechter.
14 For the Lord will judge his people, and will be entreated in favour of his servants.
Denn Jahwe schafft seinem Volke Recht und erbarmt sich über seine Knechte.
15 The idols of the Gentiles are silver and gold, the works of men’s hands.
Die Götzen der Heiden sind Silber und Gold, ein Werk von Menschenhänden.
16 They have a mouth, but they speak not: they have eyes, but they see not.
Sie haben einen Mund und reden nicht, sie haben Augen und sehen nicht.
17 They have ears, but they hear not: neither is there any breath in their mouths.
Sie haben Ohren und hören nicht, und kein Odem ist in ihrem Munde.
18 Let them that make them be like to them: and every one that trusteth in them.
Ihnen gleich werden die, die sie verfertigen, jeder, der auf sie vertraut.
19 Bless the Lord, O house of Israel: bless the Lord, O house of Aaron.
Ihr vom Hause Israel, preiset Jahwe! Ihr vom Hause Aarons, preiset Jahwe!
20 Bless the Lord, O house of Levi: you that fear the Lord, bless the Lord.
Ihr vom Hause Levis, preiset Jahwe! Die ihr Jahwe fürchtet, preiset Jahwe!
21 Blessed be the Lord out of Sion, who dwelleth in Jerusalem.
Gepriesen sei Jahwe vom Zion aus, er, der zu Jerusalem wohnt! Rühmet Jah!
