Psalms 13

1 Unto the end, a psalm for David. How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me unto the end? how long dost thou turn away thy face from me?

Psaume de David, [donné] au maître chantre. Eternel, jusques à quand m'oublieras-tu? [Sera-ce] pour toujours? jusques à quand cacheras-tu ta face de moi?

2 How long shall I take counsels in my soul, sorrow in my heart all the day?

Jusques à quand consulterai-je en moi-même, [et] affligerai-je mon cœur durant le jour? Jusques à quand s'élèvera mon ennemi contre moi?

3 How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Eternel mon Dieu! regarde, exauce-moi, illumine mes yeux, de peur que je ne dorme du sommeil [de] la mort.

4 Consider, and hear me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes that I never sleep in death:

De peur que mon ennemi ne dise: j'ai eu le dessus; que mes adversaires [ne] se réjouissent si je venais à tomber.

5 Lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him. They that trouble me will rejoice when I am moved:

Mais moi, je me confie en ta gratuité, mon cœur se réjouira de la délivrance que tu m'auras donnée;

6 But I have trusted in thy mercy. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation: I will sing to the Lord, who giveth me good things: yea I will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.

je chanterai à l'Eternel de ce qu'il m'aura fait ce bien.
