Psalms 13

1 Unto the end, a psalm for David. How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me unto the end? how long dost thou turn away thy face from me?

Au maître de chant. Chant de David. Jusques à quand, Yahweh, m’oublieras-tu toujours? Jusques à quand me cacheras-tu ta face?

2 How long shall I take counsels in my soul, sorrow in my heart all the day?

Jusques à quand formerai-je en mon âme des projets, et chaque jour le chagrin remplira-t-il mon cœur? Jusques à quand mon ennemi s’élèvera-t-il contre moi?

3 How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Regarde, réponds-moi, Yahweh, mon Dieu! Donne la lumière à mes yeux, afin que je ne m’endorme pas dans la mort,

4 Consider, and hear me, O Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes that I never sleep in death:

afin que mon ennemi ne dise pas: « Je l’ai vaincu! » et que mes adversaires ne se réjouissent pas en me voyant chanceler.

5 Lest at any time my enemy say: I have prevailed against him. They that trouble me will rejoice when I am moved:

Moi, j’ai confiance en ta bonté; mon cœur tressaillira à cause de ton salut,

6 But I have trusted in thy mercy. My heart shall rejoice in thy salvation: I will sing to the Lord, who giveth me good things: yea I will sing to the name of the Lord the most high.

je chanterai Yahweh pour le bien qu’il m’a fait.
